is the seafood cheaper there than in cartagena ? I would like to live in pacific side of colombia but there is practically no infrastructure there plus there is a lot of farc and paramilitary displacing the locals.
I've never been to Cartagena, but I'm sure it is cheaper in Buenaventura. However, what you say is true, it is not the best place to live. Cali is a better option though, because it is close to the pacific and is a modernized city.
Id have tan straight back to the hotel or to the nearest place that had bleach and lots of soap and spent the next hour scrubbing. Not good. Not not not good.
