There were actually 2 floods. One in '94 and one in '96. The basement studio managed to survive the first flood but the second flood destroyed it. RZA talks about it in "The Wu-Tang Manual". He said that's the reason "Ironman" has a different sound quality than the solos before it. He had a specific mic setting for every Clan member and he lost those settings forever because of that second flood. Hence, why the vocal mixes never sounded as gritty & dirty as their earlier works. The second flood is hardly ever mentioned. Most people assume only one happened because the members only mention the one from '94. It could also very well be the catalyst for RZA beginning to switch to digital production on "Wu-Tang Forever".

@@dassolosyndikat5113 That is a fact, that altered his career and he basically knows that watching an interview when he was speaking on it (He looked depressed when that came up talking about it). GZA and Raekwon ran that mid to late 90s with their projects, then Ghost came right after. At one point, Ghost was the only one holding the Wu down lyrically. I don't want to think about it.... We were robbed of Decks original album and I know that was going to be on par with their earlier solo work production wise and Deck is DECK :( I honestly think we were robbed of a few classic albums on top of the stuff they already dropped. Sad day for hip hop.
@@dassolosyndikat5113 That is a fact, that altered his career and he basically knows that watching an interview when he was speaking on it (He looked depressed when that came up talking about it). We were robbed of another 5 mic Wu Tang solo classic album with Rza in his prime and Deck at his absolute peak. That would have been up there with Liquid Swords, Cuban Linx and so on I swear to this day. Damn. That would have been a landmark album.
Gotta get one with Red and Meth! Keep rising Math, keep rising!
Give him his 5 mics!
I respect that!
One time in a college education class, 4000 level, I had a semester long project due and didn't have it.
It was assigned months ahead and everyone needed that.
I went to campus a couple hours before class and did that and got an A!!
Give Meth his 5 mics!!
Real raw interview
Nah I gotta disgree...Tical was a 3.5 mic album
Math keep power pieces chessboxin' with the speakers on the floor. Dope convo. Respect
Tical had the worst beats. He's still a legend and a God MC!
The fuck you talking about😂
you can't possibly be serious
Big Facts
@@RASHONBOND973 I agree with him though the album was alright
Nah he had some of the best
Whatup Math...can we get a G-Unit interview on the show??? Tony Yayo...Lloyd Banks or possibly 50 on the show my guy??? The streets want it too I'm sure!!!!!
losing all that music would make me sick smh but charge it to the game salute to meth
I met Mef and Red in a show out here in El Paso Texas . I yelled " yo Mef " he came to see who was yelling. He was about 20 yards away they had trailers where they would take a breather . Anyway he came I went insane I met the greatest MC of all time MY hero that day ... Shook my hand and took pic 's w my wife & Me . Best day of my life .
Ain’t no damn 5 mic
It could have been without the flood
Great upload
Tical is more than a 5Mic album. That album belongs in the Rap archives forever. It’s imperfect manner makes it a PERFECT album!
💯
It's one of my all time favorite albums from anyone.
I was listening to Tical yesterday. I still love that album
You better know meth is one of the greatest lyricist to touch a mic
"You thought I was battling... I was just trying to keep up" 👊🏾
Love Meth, but Tical ain't 5. 4 at the most, solid as fuck and has some classics, but it should have been much better. There's a reason we talk about shit like Cuban Linx and Liquid Swords most out of all the solos. Not hating, I still bang Release Yo Delf, Meth Vs Chef, Bring The Pain,
Mr. Sandman, and Stimulation to this day.
Facts
GZA and Raekwon ran that mid to late 90s with their projects, then Ghost came right after. At one point, Ghost was the only one holding the Wu down lyrically. Inspectah Deck and Meth were the two who I was somewhat disappointed in but the transition was already in effect. Deck never got a major look and Meth became more known for the features IMO more then his albums.
Method Man Tical Album isy favorite, hands down!!! That album changed my life. Solidified my existence into Hip Hop! Why I love music and not afraid to spit!
An album like Tical will never be relegated to 5 mics because it meant so much more than a mic rating to me! It’s comparable to art they say is priceless. That’s just my feeling though. I don’t want to touch it with ratings because then I’d have to judge it instead of enjoying it for what it is. A hip hop classic! Period!!
WELL SAID
I remember that about Run D MC.....what Meth was talking about. It was on HBO!! Wu was dope too!!
Raekwon the chef is the hardest rapper out of Wu-Tang clan.
🤣

I GOT A WHOLE NEW LOVE FOR THIS INTELLIGENT HUMBLE KING. THE GROWTH IS THE DAYZ OF M E T H O D MAN BEGINNINGS (SONG THAT IS IZ AMAZING!!! ✊️👏🤝
ehh...5 mics? I denno.
For me. Meff first album is the first joint I never skipped.
@@TonyBeBlessed last time I listened a few years ago, I'd give it a solid 4.5 I do consider it a classic but like not 5 mic classic...if that makes sense.
@@thecunninlynguist yea. What makes it not 5 to u. I admit I haven't heard the whole project in a while
Meth didn't say it was a 5, he says it could have been if shit didn't get lost in the flood
Mef you the dopest cat in the Wu! Never feel that way. You the strongest link!
That's ridiculous. I never heard anybody say meths skills were lacking in any way shape or form. He's always been at the top of his game.
Just listen to that 'metropolis' joint he did recently with muggs and slick rick. Dude absolutely killed it and is _still_ a god tier MC.
He said the process should’ve made it 5 mics. Dare Iz a Darkside should’ve been 5 though, that and It’s Dark an Hell is Hot.
Can't get enough of METHOD MAN!!!!!
Easily the worst Wu-Tang solo album! #NoDebate His 2nd-album was even worse #DaFacts #BigFacts He didn’t make a decent album until he got with Redman
Tical? 👀
😂stfu casual
tical is a classic. out of curiosity how old r u?
@@SinestetKanal y’all niggas need to understand what’s an actual classic album bozos stay in yall lane geeks casually Smd lol
@@Louie200Seven that’s a song
I hear on these videos, which I love and appreciate. The "they had reapect without anger from the cat that came before them" but I honestly can't remember the last time that trait was honored.
I'm glad it was respected back In the day, but it makes me sad it isn't perpetuated by "MC's" today
When Meth talked about hustling and ducking bullets & feeling trapped....ADD that as a skit on your next album!!!
That's what Authentic Wu always been known for! Go with d flow. Rap them stories. Raw & Authentic.
The RZA flood is the biggest What if in Hip Hop history especially for Rebel INS Debut! Method Man, Rebel INS, GZA my personal 3 favorite Wu Tang lyricists!
I still to this day think about what we lost and get depressed. I have no doubt Decks album was up there with the best WU solos and maybe even a notch above! I still wish we could here what we lost from the Wu with that flood, it's really the biggest what if as you said in hip hop history.......
Method Man is so down to earth & humble. Happy to say I grew up listening to him and the rest of Wu-Tang Clan. Method Man's first album Tical is definitely a classic!
Meth humble ASF I love dat
Meth is a dope guest..another legend with Hella stories. We need this.
