One of the things i learned very early in life is being able to follow is just as important as being able to lead. This is an issue I feel niggas like Dame Dash have. You have to be humble enough to follow in order to be a stronger leader. When I got into real estate I literally went up to the bet real estate agent in my firm and told him I would work for him for free. Literally would go to the open houses, help stage the properties, got him coffee, set up the MLS database for him, etc, and for 8 months I was making literally minimum wage because he was nice enough to give me something. Once he saw my loyalty he would cut me into the commissions every time I got him leads. Then he would give me some of his clients and that's where I started to make real money. Then he taught me the stock market game. And now he's teaching me the wholesale real estate game. He's now a mentor to me. It took me 3 years of making no money to reach a point where I was able to comfortably eat. Not too many people want to humble themselves to be a follower before they can be a leader and that's where a lot of niggas crumble. A part of that is tossing your ego and attitude out the window.
Bruva with all due respect, just the fact that u felt that u had to "work" for someone else to get to the top, automatically takes u outta the position of being able to give advice to Dame Dash. You are a real estate agent bruh, that man is a millionaire that helped make other dudes millionaires/ billionaires. Perhaps being humble was the best scenario for you to follow. "Being humble" may help u get a respectable wage at a real estate office, but it won't do a damn thing for u in the entertainment business. You are a one person operation with no serious capital of your own, you are supposed to be humble and follow. That is YOUR position on the chess board

Big difference between real estate and hip hop entertainment. You have to work your way up in real estate, but in entertainment you are the talent and boss. Everybody is there to see you perform. Real estate is just providing a commodity. If you like being a residential real estate agent then your are on the right path. But Dame Dash and all those other entertainers are in a totally different field and have power and position that you can't imagine. But everybody has a role to play in life. This world is ideally set up for entertainers and business owners, everyone else is in position to serve them or work under them. That's just how it is.
