This Cobra jet Torino is Cool. I remember the Grabber Green Ford color. Looks like a serious dragster. He kept the dash steering wheel n seats original Look at that motor with a blower it sounds radical. Thanks Scottie for your Video's.
Your welcome Brother...Glad You enjoyed this one!
Love that sweet ford !!!!
Thanks for checking it out...Glad You liked it!!
Cool car! A cool dad for buying it...
Gary Jordan For sure!!
Awesome Car!!!!
Glad You liked it!!
Love it...my Dad had a '70 Fairlane with a plain 302...it put out plenty of power...I miss that car, but these '70 and '71 Torinos sure bring back memories...
ckennepohl Always glad to send people down memory lane....lol...glad you enjoyed it!!
I love how the headers come up in back of the front wheels like old school funny car. That's wicked!!!
Glad you liked it!!
Forever Ford I love this stance nice car super nice.
Cool car for sure...Thanks for checking it out!!
Holy moly! Hemi headed 429 and a blower in a kickass body, freakin' sweet!!!!! Man, that thing sits just right, Iv'e always loved that body style. Thanks for the video!
+JC Image Inc My pleasure!!!....Glad you enjoyed it!
Great torino Scottie thanks for showing it to us.
Tim datoolman My pleasure Brother!!
Without a doubt, 1970 was the across- the-board best year for styling. All brands had good looking stuff, and there were a lot more brands then too (AMC, Pontiac, Merc...). I feel fortunate to have lived those days.
c6rocks 69 wasn't a bad year either....I was 4..lol
You're right Scottie. I was 14 then. I would say '66 thru '72 are my favorites. I was born in'55. I remember when Dad would drive by this local Chevy lot. That's when I first fell in love with the '69 Z-28s, sitting there all lined up. I can even remember thinking my Dad's'56 Merc was a cool car, in which it was, (haha..he says..worst car EVER) but I was only 3 or 4 years old...lol...car-guy from birth.
c6rocks I'm with ya....those were the days for sure....Not much to see in the late 70's and 80's...
As soon as I heard it had a Casse BB Ford in it I knew I was going to love it.
Cossey.....Glad you enjoyed it....The build big power for sure!!
Ive said before and I'll say it again...You Da Man !!! If ever there was a man who is truly, truly, blessed.. Its definitely you brother... Much appreciated as always...
***** I agree!!!...Glad you enjoy the videos Brother!!
wow What a Great background story !!!! Love it!
Fiore Tutta Right on!
When checking out the sales receipt I noticed that his father paid 12% sales tax, WOW!
I had a navy buddy that had a 1970 CJ 429 same color. Being from Alabama, he ran that car fast every where we went and man was it fast!
Thanks for the great glimpse into my early days Scottie.
6771Randy Glad I could do it Brother!!!
Cool thanks for sharing
+huck01955 Your welcome....Glad you enjoyed it!!
So Glad its still FORD Powered, especially Jon Kaase Power, ain't No one better at Building BBF Power. Jon Kaase and Bob Glidden are both Legends in my book. Born and Raised FORD. Won't ever see a LS or Small Block Chevy under the Hood of my Mustang.
If it's Born with a FORD, keep it all FORD. Only exception would be a Powerglide Transmission, for Drag Racing. I'm contemplating going Powerglide, but still Love my Built C-4. Been holding up No Problem going Low Nines in my 521 Stroked 86 Mustang N/A on 275/60 Drag Radials.
Cool..Thanks for checking out this one here...I agree....Make them match!!
Bad ass car, love the family heritage behind it too!
Stephan Corzine I agree...the story is as cool as the car!!
my Dream car....
+rlorion Cool dream!!
I hear ya about cutting a car with that History report..one would think hey sell it for big bucks numbers matching 70 SCJ 429 on the auction block could bring in the moolah then take that money and buy a more plain Jane Torino and pro street it up..but the 1 thing thats not thought of here is his dad give him that car..you cant replace that sentimental value..hats off on a job well done from a Torino fan..sounds awesome probably pulls like crazy..Thank You scottie D
motorhead1964 My pleasure Brother....glad you enjoyed it....Your right there is value in this build...
motorhead1964 man people here in Australia do the same thing to some of our classic cars. People go & cut up what we call a Bathurst ( a race track ) Monaro which was a 1st gen Monaro & left in race condition are worth a fortune but people will cut them up fitting a big block & running the rear
Yeah, screw the money. Love the car with family ties and build it how you want. Somehow this spells hotrodding a lot more than agonizing over the execution of that chalkmark on the firewall.
Ford guy and not hating him. I might even love him for this car.
Cool!
This car is a definition of a BAD ASS CAR Ford Torino Cobra the name says all.
cobratoxic Right on...glad you liked it!!
ScottieDTV
That is one beautiful Torino Cobra.
I love that he went with sort of a survivor look with a mean Pro Street look to it as well. Kind of a mix.
Alex Lubbers Right on...glad you enjoyed it!!
429 SCJ Drag Pack 4 looks great as a Pro streeter.
MustangConnection1 I agree....cool car for sure!!
That car is badass you don't see them that much. The 428 CJ cyclone those were all that!
Right on!
Cool car! Love the Kaase Boss 9 in there. However....as the owner of an original 429CJ Mustang, I would not have cut up that car to Pro Street it. There's just not many of those left. Too bad that another original bit the dust, but the car is pretty kewl! The owner should at least run it down the strip a few times!!
Cool!
That is just a cool car. Love it.
HARMARSCH2 I agree...glad you liked it to!
Love it.
Cool!
I love fords
Cool...Thanks for checking this one out here!!
I love it when people do this. I like the sense of realism when this takes place. It was like that. Some guy taking his Hemi Roadrunner and putting a chrome straight axle, fenderwell headers and a custom paint job perhaps. Just as soon as the warranty expired. That's hot rodding the way it really happened many times.
Right on...
He cut up quite a special car that's for sure, but if you're going to build a drag car I think you should at least take it down the strip. It's his car though and I respect that. I love seeing these atypical hot rods! Amazing color also!
Austin Pyron Glad you enjoyed it!!
Whoa...an all original, 429 SCJ Torino, pro streeted? Man, I loved this year Torino, they were so cool. Another good one, Scottie, loved it!
Chalres Kirkland Glad you enjoyed it Brother!!
It fills the hole. Yes it does. U get a Ford that's (right) as I say. And you've got something that will haul a** or haul the mail. beautiful car a I wouldn't change a thing.( now) !
How the fuck are people having thumbs down. Beautiful ford
Glad you enjoyed it!
a beauty with a beast under the hood
2theclassics Right on!
Hey Scotty thanks for showing this car. I had the chance to buy one of these with the Cobra Jet 429 back in 88 for $3,500. Mom wouldn't cosign the loan.
D Fuller My pleasure....That would have been a good investment!
I am a Ford guy! Love Torinos. Especially 1970. It would of been cool to be restored to stock. But I can see why you went the restomod route. That car is BAD ASS!!!!
Glad you liked it!
saw this car at 2013 all ford nationals in carlisle, pa. it didnt have the zoomie style headers on it then. this is something you NEED to see in person!!!!
+vroomzoomboom1 Right on....Thanks for checking it out here!!
Oh my 😢
lol..Right on!
Hey Jamie, if you're out there, my dad knew you back when he was living in London with the military. His name is Dan, he had that red 1970 GT convertible with the 429 and hide aways. He still has the car though its in pieces in a barn now. He was just talking about your car when he found a copy of RPM Magazine with your car on the cover.
+TheVancen Cool..I hope he contacts You!!
My neighbor has that same car but it's a type NW, Sweet car.
+Xtinnoker Cool...Thanks for checking this one out here!!
This is for sure a very cool car. One of your most entertaining videos too Scottie. WOW being able to ride in that thing...how cool is that?
c6rocks Glad you enjoyed it Brother!!
I Love it
+Michael Dillon Cool!
"Blown mafia" thats awesome!!
For sure!!...Glad You liked it!!
Would look even better if the hood was the same color 👍. No offense intended! Love it!!!
Thanks for checking it out!
Fck yeah Jaimie!!!!!! Bad Ass man!!!
Nice story car.... 👍
Glad you liked it....Thanks for the comment!!
Scottie, that John Koski motor is based on the 429 boss hemi motor. The valve covers are the telltale signs.
Jamie's Cobra is just over the top Cool!
The History, & build.
I would love to get a ride in that.
As for the discussion about cutting it up. He is the owner. He can do what he likes.
What do I drive?
1970 Cobra 429CJ, 4-sp, 3:89 TL gears. Gold/Black. only have had mine 15 years.
Great Car.
Troy Whittle I agree...Thanks for the comment!!!
excelente wow
I agree!!
My my father as well bought his 70 Ford Torino GT in 1969 it was only until I was 30 years old that he gave it to me which was about 12 years ago
Cool...Thanks for checking this one out here!
its cool
I agree!
LETTACE KING
Thanks for checking it out!!!
This car gets shown a lot around St. Catharines Ontario. Video doesn't do the car justice. It galvanizes people when they see it. That paint just grabs you from a mile away. The quality of cars stashed around Southern Ontario is totally amazing these days. 2000 of them will be at the Last Chance show in Welland coming up in a week.
+Scott McCambley Cool!
totally fkked-up that car!
+Sasquatch Alleged i would disagree, but he really should have restored this one and got a plain jain torino to pro street but i do love this car, takes balls to cut up a 70 scj and pro street it.
I could never have done that to mine........
To be Honest, im really surprised he chunked the original car as it was meant to be. HOWEVER, if your gonna do it - do it like he did it!!!! Sweet car bro and that engine....WOW!!!
Mac B I hear ya....no turning back now!!
Takes an optioned out #s matching torino and builds a drag car that he doesn't take on dragstrip.Could have built a beautiful street cruiser, kept the original parts, and not destroy the originality.Too each their own but that's my opinion.I am bias cuz I love torinos!
how could you do it? 4 SPEED 429SCJ... UUGGHHH
kool brother
oldcaferacer I agree!!
1970 Torinos are one of the hottest looking muscle cars out there!
+Highway Star Right on...Thanks for checking this one out!
Thanks ScottyD for giving the '70 Torino some well deserved attention. Still working on mine. It's in pieces Again... engine troubles. I may just axe the old powertrain and go mod motor with 6 speed.
My pleasure....Keep Me posted on yours!
Should have left it exactly the way his Dad gave it to him. It was already fast.
I'm good with it....
@@ScottieDTV Yeah, well, too late now.
very nice! but it is the original color??
SENAKA Yes
ScottieDTV that's cool
This is what really ticks me off..Everyone is so gun-ho over the Mustangs and I have a new Mustang but there are many nice Ford cars besides the Mustang which everyone and his grandma owns..These did rust out in the northern states but there are a ton of them on the west coast and southern states still..I like the Mercury Cyclone Spoiler as well.
+Mike Samra so do many other people, there are many people who like the more uncommon cars.
theres camaros, mustangs, chargers everywhere and they're beautiful but common.
trillriff-axegrinder
Exactly.
Nice Daddy
D,rop dead gorgeous ⚓️👀🧜♀️
Very cool for sure!!!
fuck that such a good looking car, and that engine combo beast, is it a stock block ? 429-460 or a eliminator or ford racing c 460 ? or a genuine boss 429 ? do those kaase heads work with the genuine boss blocks? sexy sexy car
I just shoot the videos....All I know is on this video Brother....sorry...
Canada!!!!!
Richter Scale lol..Right on!!
Amazing car and super cool music too whos this rock band is?
RUclips music....Glad you enjoyed the video!

Or Lsx
there is awesome motors despite what the GM guys think 🤔
Easy.....Cool is cool around here....
Did you ask him if he has the old parts
Christian Aboody He does
Hey there. You're Very Talented. one billowy What's your opinion about it !!!
+Lewis Hall I just shoot the videos...
Sweet ride, I don't care if he cut up a real drag pak car, it's still a one family owned car.
Right on!!
I believe these cars will be worth a lot of money in the very near future. More interesting and prettier than SS Chevelles.
More engine sounds !
" I can't afford to break it."
I know that all too well , hence the blown up Spirit parked outside after one trip to the track.
thephranc lol...I know what your saying!!
use to run it in the quarter mile but dosent know a time...hmmmm?what's up with that???
mike 007 I know exzactly how fast it is.but in Canada here it's extremely hard to get insurance on prostreet cars.imnot one to advertise the fact I race it or how fast it is.if you have seen it you will know it gets run.
Yup, that's not your usual....
Right on!
lol my lord, how long did ford use that steering wheel, think my parents had one in their Ford Grenada and i might have had it in my mustang grande, dont quote me on that one though lol
lol...Thanks for checking it out!!
Ya, I'm cryin'.....took a rare car and pro streeted it... WHY ???
Kevin J. Stoll cuz i like it.
Jamie Pipher Good enough man.....Peace
PS. It is cool man....
Kevin J. Stoll thanks buddy
This is the most civil discussion on youtube.
Because he can.
Jamie Pipher?
All I know is in the video.....
The pipes are in the wrong spot they should be in front of the rear tires look far better.
Looks good to Me!
@@ScottieDTV I bet if you put them there you also would like them I had an old 351 Boss Mach One and had those on there and man did I get the compliments...It kinda doesn't make sense to put those after the front wheels but I guess its your call...plus it improved my performance
@@darthslater6077 I'm sure I would...I try to enjoy someones Hot Rod as THEY built it....We would all make changes....But this is what THEY wanted and I am good with that...
I like these big muscle cars cause you can wrap them around a tree twice in one accident!(just thought of it and am quite proud of myself....thanks)lol
Why bmw seats why 😿. Nice nonetheless
Low as this car is, wouldn't surprise me at all if he said it was stock springs...
Thanks for checking it out....Glad You liked it!!
@@ScottieDTV I enjoy every one of your videos. Well put together editing and Awesome cars...
That ain’t a jet pro street
at least rev it a few times ffs!
bra it looks like mine but not green and pro street the motor in mine is a 351 5 speed and as always it's illegal
Cool!...But I just shoot the videos....lol...Thanks for checking this one out here though!
There's a story of President Trump ordering a 1970 Cobra with a special paint. It was called "Grabber Pink"!
Absolutely destroyed the value
Not to Him....
Should be careful on the use of the word mafia
lol
Blew apart the whole car, destroying it's rare originality but FOUGHT to keep the original dash. WTF is the point?
+aaardvarkkk lol...Crazy Canuks!!
+aaardvarkkk
I had a 1970 Torino SCJ. It was starting to rusting away when I bought it. I had to junk the body, but kept the drive line and a few body parts.
aaardvarkkk the point was I liked the dash and the interiour.just like I love the original colour.thats why I kept it.when cut this car it was only 10 years old and hardly rare.would I cut it now in 2016?prob not. but in1980 it seemed ok
Your car your dream. Who cares what the purists idiots think. I got a 440 mopar motor in my falcon. Sounds better then anything ford made and goes quicker to.
lol....Coll!
lol....Coll!
I'm not even a Ford guy and I'm somewhat triggered Lol. Still a cool car though.
Cool is Cool!
