  • The Song:
"Baby Come Back" "Baby Come Back" is a song written by Peter Beckett and J.C. Crowley from the British-American rock band Player. The song was released on October 13th 1977 as the lead single from their self-titled debut album. I am assuming that the song was originally written on keyboards by Crowley because of the nature of the chords, could be wrong about that though.
" Baby Come Back " is written in the key of C Minor, the verse revolves around a Cm7(#5) to a Gm7 and the song has many changes throughout but is an absolute classic from the Yacht Rock Era of the 70’s. The harmony guitars on the album as well as a beautiful and melodic solo were done by Peter Beckett who was also the lead vocalist, some guys have all the talent! Awesome solo and love the harmony leads.
    Video:
The process of final product you are seeing is as follows: I import the original track from iTunes into PreSonus Studio One, tempo map it in PreSonus Studio One, and record all the guitar part as close as I can get them to the original track.
I then buss the guitars to an effects track where I use a send for reverb. On the master I have a limiter, compression and EQ and I usually master in the same workspace. All the guitars are recorded through a Fractal Audio AXE FX III, I generally use Fractal presets and tweak them a bit, and then I record the video on my iPhone (with the lesser quality audio), import the video onto my desktop where I use DaVinci Resolve to edit the video and replace the iPhone audio with the studio quality audio from PreSonus Studio One.
    The Equipment:
I recorded this track using a stock 2010 Fender American Standard Stratocaster in Olympic White. I play the all guitars on this track directly into a Fractal Audio FXIII and then directly into my DAW (PreSonus Studio One), I used the Fender Deluxe Reverb present from the Fractal on electric and acoustic guitars on this one.
