I ran over a tarp strap one time at the end of my driveway. that thing was wound so tight around the auger shaft it was unbelievable. I had to cut it out with a utility knife. Luckily no damage.
Thanx, the Ariens is a night and day difference from my last snowblower. I gotta be careful because I can throw snow from one driveway to the other neighbors driveway with it lol. I’ve got a Troy Built mower and I like that a lot.
Looks like you got lucky. I probably got lucky too. The lady that owned my house before me loved her little lawn ornaments. One day I hit a little concrete frog, stopped the machine dead. Didn't break a shear pin, maybe because it bound up the auger. It has made some loud "clunk" noises a couple times, but it's been a few years now, so it seems like it'll be fine. Some people criticize the large tolerances in new machines, but you did a great job of demonstrating why they make them that way now. 😉 I've seen vids of older machines and they have to breakout hammers, pry bars, and I've even seen torches, to get stuck newspapers, or doormats, out of them. The whole neighbor thing reminds me of another story. A guy had one of those single stage blowers, did his driveway, and thought he'd be nice and do the neighbors. Well, the neighbor had one of those little lap dogs and had just put him out. The dog was on the porch, so the guy thought everything was fine. However, he didn't' know the dog chain was laying across the drive way under the snow. 😲
I’m glad the dog was fine. I was helping my neighbor clear his driveway one winter and a rabbit went through my machine. It was dead from the plow truck, but my heart sank because they had a cat. Would’ve ruined me if that happened. My Craftsman (MTD) lasted almost 20 years, but it started falling apart. My Ariens will last generations. Makes snow removal fun. That newspaper stopped it dead too.
I got that exact same snowblower. Bought it off my brother before he moved to Florida. Ariels are probably the best snowblowers I have the heated grips. I do the end of driveway even before the snowplow comes makes it easier to get through and you want to get it before it freezes . We haven’t gotten any snow in Pa. yet good luck 👍 😎Dave H
You didn't hurt anything, the components are steel. You're good, it's an Ariens-not a MTD, Troy-built or Craftsman. Toro and Simplicity are good, reliable machines as well.

I feel your pain.
I did the same thing
On Sunday. with my 25 year old mtd yard machine. No damage to the gears Felt like I was in a parade.😅
lol
I bought a Troy Bilt 2660 a few years back. Solid machine but it's no Ariens. Now thats a nice machine. 👍

I’ve never had any problems with snowplow fodder at the end of my driveway with my Ariens, but other brands have struggled.

Yeah, didn’t even phase it. If the paper didn’t fold it would’ve shot it out.
Don’t you hate it when people are jealous because you have a snowblower. I think to myself just go out and buy one before the winter 🥶 comes.
😎Dave H
Nah, I used to get jealous though when I didn’t have one lol.
@@uglyboysmallz3845 I was never jealous. I just thought they were a silly toy, then I got older. 😉
We got 10 inches here
Kind of a normal snow fall for us. Pry not to big of a deal for you either.
The video said Did I ruin my Ariens snowblower?
THAT WAS A WASTE OF MT TIME
Thought I did when I sucked up the newspaper, thought I hit concrete because I was near the porch. Stopped it dead.
