"Inside The WWF" is a Coliseum Home Video released back in 1994. The video took viewers inside the WWF's TV studio's to get some insight into how the company put together their weekly television broadcasts. Hosted by Gorilla Monsoon and Johnny Polo (Raven), the banter is low but the cheese is at an all time high.
The tape also included some very interesting matches including a Steel Cage encounter between Yokozuna and Bret Hart, there's a Doink vs Macho Man match included too, and Lex Luger takes on Shawn Michaels in a match not available anywhere else but on this VHS release.

Todd's shirt is the single most early to mid 90s thing to ever grace the Earth.
I had the same one in 93 😂😂
Jim Carrey's Unnatural Act comes to mind 😂
Straight out of 1992.
Truth.
I know this was cheesey in it's day and moreso by today's standards but I love seeing and hearing Gorilla Monsoon.
Loved gorilla monsoon... I thought in the early 90s he was he owner of wwf..
No this was super normal for back in the day no one even thought about these videos being "cheesey" we all loved them
Yes, WWE in the late-80s to early-90s was so cheesy and corny.
"This place is going bananas!" Gorilla and Bobby the Brain were awesome together as a commentating team. Every time the brain said something ridiculous Gorilla would say "Oh would you stop that!" 😂
my thoughts exactly , I loved it.
Gorilla and Johnny Polo was an underrated team. It's like a father and his smart ass son.
Gorilla's son was the referee Joey Moralla...
@mcgannahanskyjellyfetti6854 OH I know that. I'm just saying what the dynamics felt like for Gorilla and Johnny Polo.
I'd like us to have a moment of silence for those brave cameramen who either perished or lost their jobs in order for us fans to have this Coliseum Video. True heroes.
A moment of silence for all the cameramen who were assaulted by Shawn Michaels and promptly fired after
@@MedalWelder ⚠SPASTIC POST ALERT ⚠
What the hell are you talking about. Did cameramen actually die
@@SpencerAndZekeHarveyWHOOSH
They knew the risks
Johnny Polo was ridiculously entertaining here. Such a natural talker with buckets of charisma. He absolutely stole the show on this video.
Agreed
I couldn't stand him. He looked nothing like the rich guy he was supposed to be. I find him decent but annoying and not very funny. I also extremely dislike raven but for completely different reasons.
@@L_Train I can’t even fathom somebody not appreciating raven. But maybe I like Johnny polo because of how much I like raven. And it’s interesting to see the same guy play such a different role
Dude, he's sooooo funny
@@cameronbennett4762 he just seemed whiny and unconfident. Brooding because the jocks de pants him or something. Nothing about sitting pouting in the corner of a ring came across as strong to me. It came across as weak.
For someone who has never seen raven outside the emo loner/hardcore gimmick, this polo stuff made me laugh. Not even heelish stuff, just getting a reaction from everyone.
Will you stop! Lol there would never be another Bobby the Brain but he was pretty funny with Gorilla.
What a mark lol
Polo was all over the weekend shows I watched a kid.
He did a surfer character in wcw before this also
@@johncap6495
"Look at Hogan Gorilla, running out of the ring. Coward" 😂😂
Vince seeing Raven after signed with the WWE in 2000. "Who the fcuk gave Johnny Polo a job?"
Instantly killing his chances..
I just cannot.. and I mean CAN NOT explain how much I love WrestlingBios.
The ECW was so Hardcore you walk in as Johnny with a Polo and Leave out A raven with a Leather Jacket.
ECW will never die. Even if Vince McMahon owns the name.
Definitely the type of video I would have rented from Blockbuster back in ‘94
I remember when blockbuster first opened in 1990
From Polo to Raven I never would’ve guessed from just this.
Cocaine
Raven's intellect comes through even in the polo character, he has great comedic timing and rhythm lol
Nice thumbnail with a young & optimistic Johnny Polo. I'll never forgive that Vince McMahon for abusing him and therefore developing depression and turning into Raven.
When I see Johnny polo, I just think of him commentating with Monsoon and referring to Taker as “the Underweartaker “
Raven was so different it's hard to believe it's the same guy. I really LOVED Raven.
@@RobertHenderson.poopiebear
He actually did a homage to this character when he turned into a yuppie heel raven in a wcw
@@Chuck_ELI remember that and appreciated the subtle continuity. So it turns out Raven is just Johnny Polo that got depressed lol
@@SentinelPrimal like a lot of suburban goth types
The tire screech was also used in Mankind’s late 90’s theme.
Ya it was I remember that now
Nothing cooler than the old school WWF Blue Steel Cage. I LOVED that thing! Another great video, WB. Thanks for sharing and I'm looking forward to the next. 😁👍
I know that when I was a kid, time seemed to move slower. Even still, I can't believe the drastic difference between 94 and 98. They seem like different decades.
Huge difference also between 90 and 94. If you look at WWE today and 4 years ago there's not much difference
4 years is an eternity for wrestling.
In late 1995 is when the change started. Wcw was building steam. The super heroe era in wwf was over.
@@craigshannon6011 The pandemic may have played a role tbf
I don’t think Raven minded being Johnny Polo, I could be misremembering but I’m pretty sure in an interview he said his main gripe was they were using him as a announcer/manager and not a wrestler like he wanted to be.
Yes sir your memory serves you correct
Seeing that coliseum home video logo brings back my childhood memories. We used to always go to those house shows when I was a kid
"Doing things separately AND together." Randy Savage is a god damn treasure.
It's "...doin' The Thing individually and to-gethaaa!"
I'd love to see the older Coliseum videos covered.
It seems like he is. I've seen 2 or 3 already in the last few months. I too would like more!!
🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾🤞🏾
Tony Schiavone helped put some of the early videos together during his ‘89-‘90 run.
Yokozunas "knob"..😂😂😂😂
The first 2 mins of this video made me laugh..🤣🤣
😂😂😅
Yokozuna The Bonsai Drop comes in very hard and fast.
Guessing you're American to find that funny. In the UK it was just an unpleasant thought lol
That conversation between Razor Ramon and Randy Savage, So spontaneous! Ain't nothing scripted about that!
Raven is gold on commentary
We want all the old colosseum home videos brother!! Hook us up! Make a series outta it after the war or something. Would be really awesome man. Thank you for the years of entertainment wrestling Bios! Ill be here till the end!
That's until the big man keeps trying to shut him down.
“Vince!! We can film the guys going in and out of the showers for the ladies.”
“Sounds good Pat! Get it done pal!”
With WWE announcing they won't be doing physical media releases after 2023 (meaning no more DVDs), it's fun to look back at an old Coliseum Video release.
May we always remember physical media.😢
Thanks! Back in the 'olden days my dad, brother and I would go to the video store every friday night and rent some videos to watch over the weekend and we always picked up a couple of the Coliseum WWF videos. I had never seen this on because I had moved out of home by then, but was great to look back to those days.

Tony Chimel sighting, he took over as Wrestling Challenge ring announcer after Mike McGuirk left the company starting with the 10/19/93 tapings (11/7, 11/14 & 11/21 episodes) and this match was from the 11/30 tapings. This run for him lasted 9 months (10/19/93 to 6/22/94).
10:43
A production song that ECW was using as their TV show theme from late 93 to mid 94 (when they were still part of the NWA), WWF was using it for recap videos as well at the same time so it's basically like when WWF & WCW were using a certain song for the Superstar Line & Lex Luger.
"Before Doink had his little dink" lol
This is something that should have been uploaded to the Network only for the irony of Raven Showing us what was the entire WWE home video library in 1994.
It might be under the coliseum video section if you dig a little
@@MillerNj41 it’s not there. I checked.
@@Gannooch got to go to best of wwe home video they might of took it off they took a bunch of stuff off before
I realize why cause any title with WWF can’t be shown in name reason best of wwf tapes ain’t on there
@@MillerNj41 Just so you know. They've now for the most part unmuted "WWF" in older content on the network.
That Macho / Razor bit was hilarious
"how you doing"
Better then you chico!
"You can only be AS-good"
ill take a tie with you 😂
Gorilla's the only guy that could break every bone in your body, and tell you the name of each one as he does it.
I miss him and Bobby the brain together
That music makes me go back a few years. Super tape '92 was the first wwf vhs I owned, great memories
Scott Levy has always been a great entertainer. Sharp wit with a wiseass attitude has taken him far. Great video.
The Johnny Polo stuff and the commentator saying speaking of reservations had me dying laughing
I also liked his Johnny Flamingo days in Wcw
As a native ive heard all those lame jokes before. He sure didnt come up with them. They aren't funny.
@@L_TrainThey aren't funny. They're hilarious.
@@L_TrainI'm surprised you were sober enough to type this comment
@@MrPiragon You just f'd his wigwam.
I remember getting a couple of these types of videos for Christmas around 95/96 hosted by Dok Hendrix. So unbelievably cheesy but for a wrestling mad kid from England without much to watch on tv at the time they were priceless. Love the nostalgia your channel brings mate thanks
As a die hard Marty Jannetty fan I want this on vhs in my stocking on the 25th
Yo this is actually one of my favorite coliseum home video releases by WWF. It was also uploaded on RUclips and then Dailymotion briefly sometime back around 2011 or so... Since then, I've only been able to catch individual matches chopped from it randomly uploaded here & there, but it was a lot of fun! Thanks for reviewing this one!👍🏾
How timely to upload this as WWE is about to stop physical home video releases in the UK and possibly everywhere else.
loved that savage and razor backstage segment.
I remember this tape to this day never forgot the conversation with Razor and Macho
Thanks for this video! I'm loving all these VHS treasures!
Man I will never not be a huge Raven/Johnny Polo/Scott Levy mark. Stuff like this just cements him as one of my top guys.
These videos are fun to look back on. Thanks for sharing.
Randy Savage was and still is a national treasure. RIP
He should have a statue somewhere
He went to bye bye land 😂 lmfao
Bought this vhs a couple months ago was searching all over for this one✌️
Brilliant mate !! Thank you!
Still more memorable than all of the last fifteen years of the w w e
Not really.
You promised us Yokozuna's knob, but all we got was Doink's Dink.
Funny thing is, that's the second time they did that same exact bit with John Arnold being squished by the tape shelves, they did it earlier with Sean Mooney in one of the "Best of The WWF" tapes.
Gorilla sittin in front of the titles is a dope look
This was my first time seeing Johnny Polo and I found him highly entertaining. I never knew this character existed. Thanks and cheers.
Great to relive nostalgia. Renting WWF videos back then were like the Glory days. I trying covering Coliseum videos Like Hulkamania 3, 4 or Hulkamania forever, along with WWF Supertape Vol 1 or 2. Those my favorites all time.
Good segue, Gorilla. Excellent segue.
Just when I'm feeling so down... always cheer me up to see you uploaded a new video 😌
This was a really fun watch!
For me this video was really good. Mach, Razor, Bam Bam, Bret & Diesel. Johnny Polo to me was funny throughout and so was Gorilla.
I remember Johhny Polo taking RazorsEdge on Cement and was never seen again. I also thought he was seriously injured until I saw himas Raven in ECW.
I found Johnny funny and enjoyed this video. I miss the old style of it all. Good stuff WB.
Ok, i thought this was young raven. @wrestlingbios i adore these videos, i love looking through these time capsules. Thanks as always.
"Hello, I'm Gorilla Monsoon. As you can clearly see behind me we have more that one WWF championship title, in an era before replica belts were a thing"
Like yokozuna's knob.... 😂😂😂 That had me creasing up. Top notch commentary as always dude
The guy in the video archive library at 14:00 is the same guy who 5yrs later appeared as the accountant in one of the "Stone Cold becomes CEO" segments.
Do you know him? Or do you have a really good memory?
@@craigshannon6011 I was recently watching the Stone Cold CEO segments so that's why I recognized him.
Damn, I had completely forgotten that Raven used to be Johnny Polo...
Thank you for sharing this. ❤I really loved the “behind the scenes” stuff like the archive room and the video editing room with the takeout (takeaway) calendar with the Pandas in the background.
Todd Pettengill was obviously a huge fan of the Simon electronic game.
I like the joke about it being a dirty vidoe seamlessly and instantly moved into the actual stock rock music used in dirty videos at 1:42 lol
6:39 Haha, good ear on the Razor Ramon tire screech!
And celebrity appearances by:
6:54 Johnny Polo!
6:24 The Rocker!
7:55 Pam from The Office!
24:48 Tom Hanks!
I loved that bit with Polo getting the geek to "think he'll costar" in the video/will get to write the bits
Entering a “Do Not Enter” door…….what an animal.
It’s always kind of fun seeing just how small and cheesy the entire WWF operation was during the golden era. So much of its classic content it produced all through the 80’s and 90’s syndicated show era, of the now billion dollar company, was done at what looks like a local PBS station. I’ve driven by the WWE tower in Stamford, I’m not sure if this is the same location.
I Kind of like Johnny Polo. It’s a cornball very late 80’s heel, but shows Raven was a great talker in a way he never got to be.
Also love the idea that macho and Scott hall had behind the scenes conversations in full ring wear.
Ahhh the old silver vision music, a staple of my childhood.
A Collosseum video tape I'd love to see a video on is "Bashed in the USA" the wrap around is Mr Perfect looking for the perfect stamp
It's crazy to think this is just a few years before the start of the attitude era.
This video is one of my earliest wrestling memories!
1:27 Wow! Bret turned into Bret Venis for a while there! 😮😂
I've never heard Levy/Raven as Johnny Polo. He's fuckin hilarious and I think he was making the best of a dipshit situation and loving every minute of it
The 90s world was such a crazy place. Where I was from, we would have never known this existed. In fact, so much wrestling productions and memorabilia were things that I never knew existed until adulthood.
Wow, Johnny Polo. Raven was a really good looking younger man. No Moho. I wasn't shocked to find out that he did modeling.
If I only could watch 1 RUclips channel the rest of my life
This would be it
Johnny Polo was great as commentary lol
That bootleg warning parody cutaway was gold ‼️
I’d love to see you take a look at the WWF: 1996 Year in Review video.
I’m a proud, lifelong WCW fan, but this was the first WWF video I bought so it has a special place in my heart.
And it’s presented by the legendary Kevin Kelly! So you know it’s quality!
Fantastic video as always and I can’t wait for the next one.
I rented this back in the day.
That tire screech made me think of Mankind 🙃
*WB, these old video reviews are the best. Thanks*
Johnny Polo aka Raven was hilarious in this video . He said here we have a plant a typewriter when it’s a fax machine is hilarious. RIP to all the legends that passed as well
Todd looks like an N64 😂
I would have marked out back in the day about this behind the scenes video, Raven actually knew his way around because he said before he loved going through and watching those VHS' at the WWF Headquarters
Fun fact around 9:13 during the Bam Bam v Tatanka match Bill Alphonso is the ref. Fonzie from ECW aka the annoying whistle guy
The funny thing is Ludwig borga is in die hard with a vengeance,he plays one of Simons henchman at the very end of the movie when they thought they had won and were celebrating.
Oh wow, that opening theme took me back to my childhood! I used to raid my brothers Silver Vision tape collection on the regular!
Yokozuna’s knob. Brilliant 😂
Silver vision and coliseum home video... ah the good old days!
I never expected to hear 'Yokozuna's knob' ever and now I've heard it multiple times.
Yokozuna’s knob pinned the hitman😅
I didn't even know about this i just learned something new today awesome video this channel is so much fun to watch.
That commentary that Raven said about Tatanka would definitely NOT FLY today. Although I do find it ironic that Raven said that you have to be PC in these PC times about Tatanka. In 1993.
If you want to see some Loard Alfred Hayes watch Wrestling's bloopers, bleeps, and bodyslams. It's on the network, it is insain.
You want a fun Lord Alfred Hayes video then Invasion 92 is the best as it's a Star Trek parody and he's doing a Scotty impression
Who isn't a diehard Marty Jannetty fan?
Scott Levy’s family went to the same synagogue as mine did.
Any video with Gorilla in is already amazing
