Well, let’s keep this up on RUclips. The band edited this out of the remastered Police Around The World
YES!
Seriously? That really sucks.
@@blackdruidhymns5333 yeah, there’s quite a bit edited out of the new version. To say it’s “restored” is misleading
"No one's jammin' their transmission, hey, Larry" is now the canonical lyric for me.
Right???
I also tend to sing
“poets priests and politicians
I’m gonna fuckin’ kill you
have words to thank for their positions…YOU!” 😂
Stu and Andy played the best show ever, while Sting Reignited tensions between The British and The French.
Eh, no. I don't think it's got anything to do with Nationality
@@willoke8 it was a joke, calm down.
Some Cunt threw mud at him 😂😂😂😂😂 What is it about Ranting Bass Players? Not mentioning anyone in particular Roger Waters.
"Hey Larry, deal with it." Prolly Sting's best line.
Evreyone saying “ oh sting should of jumped off the stage and hammerd the guy “ no the guy kept playing his gig and acted professionally not wanting to ruin it for the others that paid to be there and didn’t spoil the set because of one prick . Hats off sting
yeah, so professional in fact that he actually spat twice back at the guy lmao
@@Kiripompone That's hilarious. I'd have considered it a flipping honor if Sting spat on me
@@Kiripompone The great thing about those antics (same as it happened with U2 on Live Aid) is that the other two members, not really knowing how it could pan out, kept things tight and interesting... Hats off to Sting for not missing a beat or a note on neither bass nor voice, but the others had to stay razor-sharp and keep up the energy.
A gentleman will walk but never run.
Stings so juxtaposed with the guy in the audience that he doesn't realize he just sung "Words that scream for there submission" twice
And he angrily looks at Andy and Stewart right after. And then he sings the last chorus an octave higher.
@@scotty3034 the octave chorus part was intentended, also becouse he was angry af. The double "words that scream.." well thats cringe
"U FucCin bAstarDt' 😂
Andy Summers is one of the most overlooked guitarists of his generation. Sensational player.
Not buy those who playes guitar 🎸 and the rest has no clue about instrument
@@LRD113 ❤️
Absolute amazing! Copeland the best drummer of the world.
Sting is so pissed and happy at the same time, and the end of that bass riff shows.
I absolutely love the cursing in this. Cracks me up every time
The Brits have mastered the art of cursing to a whole new level; haha!
What does he say at the beginning? I can't catch his words
@Dave Boyle and then what did he said ? Like some kind of french insult?
@@ICEman5132 Sounds like "the cunt that threw mud at me Id like to rip his fucking arms off"
Plus he's incredibly hot when doing it
somehow my favourite gig of The Police , the raw energy, his anger made the performance even better imo .
Plus cocaine.
I was there.. it was incredible.... raw energy is a good description.
@@philjeremy2749 Never had the opportunity, because i am too young. Got to know them via my dad.
Any special reason for him to be angry?
@@achenarmyst2156 I 've read about this incident. Apparently someone in the crowd had spit on Sting or something.
Cmom bro, look at Copeland on the drums... Amazing!
Incredible.
This the best version of this song I've heard. The speed and intensity is fantastic!
almost sounds punk
I agree but it is actually at the wrong speed / pitch due to the frame rate conversion from 24fps to 29.97 for NTSC....It's actually 4% faster here and a semi-tone higher
I’ve been watching Police Around The World since I was 12 when it came out and my dad bought it for me on Laser Disc.
This is still my absolute most favorite part of the whole video. I think I learned the word “cunt” from Sting.
Sting ranting throughout the song is hilarious.
Why do i feel nostalgic about this moments when I was born in 2006 will sure be the biggest question of my life.
Yew fookin bastad! I'll get yew! Way-aye man.
Stuart Copeland is one of the most underrated drummers of his time 😊
one of those songs that changed rock and roll forever! The cursing at the guy in the audience is good too.
This was in their long video *Around The World* ...... but has been removed in the newly released version.
There are backup vocals in this that my eyes and ears can't reconcile.
Just bought the cd/dvd....and I KNEW something was missing.....and added.
I was here !! One of the best gig I've ever seen, and I saw a lot of bands in my life.
Stewart Copeland ladies and gentlemen
"YOU BAAAASTAAAAD!!!"
I young in the early-eighties and a neighbor had this video. My neighbor mentioned "...a lot of money would not be made were Sting to be injured, so Security was swift."
Copeland the king ❤️🤴
I’ve only watched this and Truth Hits Everybody from this show and honestly aggressive Sting sounds incredible
昔ビデオで観て印象に残っていた
怒れるstingと対照的に冷静な2人
何もなかった様に演奏を続ける様子が面白い
Super baterista cpeland
...
lol, Sting was high as fu*k! He went off on that guy. I wonder if Larry's a bodyguard. @2:03 Sting says "hey Larry come here man!".
Yea Larry Wheels 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Copeland rules!!
Awesome live Police music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Theres a clip of this on RUclips buy Jesus This clip’s quality is AMAZING. Thank you!
Hey Larry come out here!!!!
Sting says "you fucking bastard, gonna get you"
Class 1984 hi from Puerto Rico 💖🇵🇷
Young and wild and restless
I've played the album version back and I can't hear the lyrics saying "I'm gonna rip your fucking arms off" anywhere?! Weird.
You have to play the album backwards :-)
love sting ne btes mad
theres a lot backing vocals made by sting on this track, how many stings were there on stage ????? RSRSRSRS
I was there someone through mud at him…. Think this was a bit of punk rock aggression. He also said Ca va? and then shouted at the audience ‘well you dont fucking sound like it’ … My mate and I couldnt believe it all, it was so cool. It ended in rain and mud and fights and police really late. The band were just awesome.. the best concert ever!.
All set in a roman amphitheatre… still remember it to this day. 43 years ago!!
This clip feels like something from a Paul Thomas Anderson movie. Especially Sting's terrible dancing at the end. All they needed was an Asian dude standing off to the side of the stage and throwing firecrackers.
Is the audio heavily upgraded and overtaked ? It's fantastic !
Can anyone let me know where I can find the full concert for Frèjus with visuals?
jesus that'd be a godsent, same for US festival would be amazing
j y etais pas j avais 7 ans quelle dommage THE Police pour toujours
Sting not happy!
The outro reminds me a bit of Drown by Smashing Pumpkins 👌
I was there !
I am the most jealous person right now. Do yoy have any idea where i could find the whole concert. I belive that this was their best concert thay have ever given. Also the truth hits everybody performance man just perfect!!
So what happened, exactly? What'd that guy do to piss off Sting so much?
@@tcummins Sorry, i can't remember.
Sting trying to earn some street cred
Soooo did they overdub stuff later? I find it crazy to think they could play along with tracks live when their tempos would vary so much
1:30 for personal reference
Saw them at CBGB'S their first USA gig
What the hell did they guy do???
Did Ally McBeal ever see this?
A little angry father Sting 🤖
1:46 "I'm gonna f**king kill ya, ye c**t!" 😂😂😂😂
2:34
I wonder what got Sting so riled up.
Lol they left this part out of the new restored bluray.
Where are those backing vocals coming from?
What tuning is this in? Different than the reocrd
I think that playing it different to the record proves your musical ability
Spencer Snitil Played or recorded at the wrong speed. Sounds like the chipmunks. It was on one of their videos.
This was speed up a bit, they played it live in with Guitar and Bass in standard
who is singing the choir here?
who's Larry?
Sting's bodyguard if i am right.
bekellvaljam baszomafeleseged you are right
Why Sting Figth?
Not sure but I think someone in the audience threw some dirt at him. I wish I could show this to Sting and ask him ^^
I guess, and I think you can see them fly, a lot of spits.
I saw the whole tape, someone threw dirt.
People used to chuck things and gob at the people they'd paid to see...and then get upset when the performer gets pissed off
Yeah, this track is different, waaay more phantom backing vocals
Was Sting on something?
Ego and coke.
@@thewomble1509 well put LOL
Why? because he got angry at getting stuff chucked at him? Yeah must be drugs and ego.
If I’m not wrong it’s said that sting has bipolar. He might’ve been manic during this
yeah, some back up vocal cheating at least for sure, hell sounds great though
Vocal cheating? How and what do you mean?
He does that to get a chorus effect so no vocal cheating.
@@SonicVineyard Chorus overdubs, probably for the Around the World video. Stones also did overdubs on their Still Life album on Let Me Go. It's not cheating, but you can definitely tell in some parts Sting went back and dubbed background vox for the video.
Sounds like there were women singers off stage. Stuart is singing too. The women were brought in stage for the synchronicity tour, so maybe the same ones?
Coke is a helleva drug
Oh yeah...getting things chucked at you when you're trying to perform doesn't piss said performer off...it has to be fucking coke..and therefore unreasonable
Ah yes...the French.
@40. Drummer going a little overboard to keep in time!
Overdubs all over the place in "The Police Around the World". In this tune what Sting plays doesn't match what you hear. Also the backup vocals in the Police suck generally. And these backup vocals were overdubbed. Plus I don't hear the Moog pedals and he is playing them. He also seems a little coked out.
Ken Johnston I agree Sting was high as a kite here. But somehow it still sounds great. They sounded great, 'live in concert', up until they started adding horns. Thats when they lost the raw, energetic, style shown here.
I don't think they would have bothered overdubbing on this (hey, let's touch up the one where Sting calls somebody a cunt!). They did have backup singers on tour, and Stewart Copeland played with delay on his drums in certain songs (including this one), so maybe that is pulling your ear. They've also done that really annoying thing where they put shots in from a different point in the song and hope you don't notice that it doesn't match the audio. That doesn't mean they overdubbed, though.
Totally overdubbed bass, guitar & backing vox. I have a 16mm print of this and the multi tracks. A lot of the audio was repaired .... not cos they were crap musicians I should add. Its true they did add and repair audio for the VHS release.
They did repair audio and add things to this.......at one point its impossible Sting is playing the bass line with one or no hands......They did bother to repair as "Home video" was pretty new then and they were massive.
Utter bullshit...what difference does it make if there are backing vocals on this? And what evidence do you have that he was "high as a kite"?
Clearly you have never played a concert, and know nothing.
I thought Stig was gonna kill him? Any real rocker with passion would have put his bass down and jumped in the audience. Help Larry!
I'd have walked off with the band...no one should have to put up with that
So many performance experts ...if I were the band, I'd have walked off...nobody needs things chucking at them...why go to the gig? Stay the fuck at home
you fing bastad, hey larry come here, i gonna get you, you fin c nt, dont remeber those lyrics in the origional , haha 1:29
