my feelings of gratitude towards gere and his family and company have been about 15 years. i treasure the whole seed catalogues and the stories of amazingly dedicated seed collecters /growers working with gere. i have been growing 0ver (90% heirlooms for 40 years and finding baker creek was like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! id lost a rented half acre , and am now reduced to a packed small balcony + small front porch they are beautifull ,herbs, fruit, vegies +flowers!
My cousin and I had a fantastic two days at the Spring festival. Our first, but not our last. We hope to make this event an annual event. My husband and I are building our first backyard garden. I'm happy for you, I know how you feel! It took forever for mine to get to Sweden. I was so scared my precious Montana Cudu Corn and Gete Okosomin would get burned by the customs and border patrol... But they arrived in my mailbox a week ago!

Great video! I found a Baker Creek seed catalog while cleaning bleachers after a basketball game. I thought the varieties were interesting and took it home. A couple years later, I'm sprouting Chocolate WHITE EDGED Morning Glories from my few remaining seeds from last year, hoping to breed them because they go together so well with Moonflower. Just got Purple Lady Bok Choy sprouting now too. Your displays and seed "bank" are awesome!

I never thought heirloom seeds could have so many varieties in my life. before I learned about baker creek I thought the only heirloom tomatoes are the only the ones with the ridge's on the sides. now I know the almost endless posibilities for heirlooms. Now I only buy my seeds from baker creek.🌱

Love this story, very inspiring, I tried to buy a lot of baker creek seeds but they weren’t allowed into NZ. You even donated me a lot of seeds but I never got them unfortunately, they were stopped at the border. I was hoping to gift away plants in my community..
The day I discovered Baker Creek was a blessing. I have become an organic heirloom gardener and every year my garden gets bigger. There are so many things I want to grow. I now raise most of my food which has kept me healthy. Thank you for providing us with such good quality seeds and plants. I have introduced people to Baker Creek by giving them the free seed packets you send when I order. Sometimes I will keep a packet to try new varieties but often I share. My love of gardening and learning about different types of plants and ways of growing started when I was 4 years old and my father was stationed in North Carolina for a few years. He planted a small garden and shared in a community garden plot. Then we stopped by my grandparents farm for a while in Alabama on our way to CA.

I'll add that one thing I really like are their seed packets. Most of them have photos and there is individual information about the vegetable or flower.. Something to look at and dream! Packets from other seed companies tend to have only generic info and no photos.

Ive loved you for years. I wish yall did more organic seed supplies for commercial growers. As a home buyer too, i love the crazy varieties. Ive saved my seeds for years just from one season from yall. I love trying new things too. Keep going. Yall are on the level of seed savers. Love from north Florida. I really enjoyed this video ! I worked on a Heirloom corn for several years before it got crossed by the farmers GMO corn . It was called Boone County White .
So far, so good. We are in an isolated little pocket and do NOT have any GMO corn growing around us. In 2019, I am growing out an extremely rare variety called "Pawnee Eagle". Seeds will be saved and SHARED!
Yes, you are correct! The kernels are white and the "Eagle" image is purple. I am not Native American; but when the seeds arrived, they evoked some very STRONG emotions in me for what these seeds mean to the Pawnee -- got choked up and it was hard fighting back the tears. Gardening was my first love as well. Back in the 70s when I was a little kid i would save all my pennies and bring them to the local hardware shop where they called me " The penny kid"😂. He'd take all my pennies and I would get packs of seeds. I still remember i planted carrots and was so excited when they sprouted. I couldn't believe a carrot could be made underground and you feel like you did it.

This is an excellent company. It's especially good when you want to try something new. Seed packets are priced lower than the store and they just put it in the mail and it arrives a few days after ordering. No shipping charge, no BS, just Paypal and go. The seed packets have a good number of seeds and the germination rate is always nearly 100%.

As a home buyer too, i love the crazy varieties. Ive saved my seeds for years just from one season from yall. I love trying new things too. Keep going. Yall are on the level of seed savers. Love from north Florida. Covid really showed everyone how unreliable the food system is in the US. People realized they need to grow their own.

I really enjoyed this video ! I worked on a Heirloom corn for several years before it got crossed by the farmers GMO corn . It was called Boone County White .
So far, so good. We are in an isolated little pocket and do NOT have any GMO corn growing around us. In 2019, I am growing out an extremely rare variety called "Pawnee Eagle". Seeds will be saved and SHARED!

Yes, you are correct! The kernels are white and the "Eagle" image is purple. I am not Native American; but when the seeds arrived, they evoked some very STRONG emotions in me for what these seeds mean to the Pawnee -- got choked up and it was hard fighting back the tears. It is important to protect seed varieties from becoming extinct... so I love Baker Creek for the active role they take in seed preservation. Best wishes from Kate in Olympia, WA

Gardening was my first love as well. Back in the 70s when I was a little kid i would save all my pennies and bring them to the local hardware shop where they called me " The penny kid"😂. He'd take all my pennies and I would get packs of seeds. I still remember i planted carrots and was so excited when they sprouted. I couldn't believe a carrot could be made underground and you feel like you did it.
Great story ! This strikes me as a classy family...and Baker Creek has become my favorite seed catalog & seed company, there there are a few terrific ones I order from. Their informative video's are terrific as well. Baker Creek is making a wonderful impact here in the US & the World.
This is an excellent company. It's especially good when you want to try something new. Seed packets are priced lower than the store and they just put it in the mail and it arrives a few days after ordering. No shipping charge, no BS, just Paypal and go. The seed packets have a good number of seeds and the germination rate is always nearly 100%.
