they arent trying to take his car infact the fact that they are totaling it instead of just dropping coverage shows that they are doing this for him, think about it because of the blood he can no longer be an uber driver so the insurance now says hey heres the money for a replacement vehicle were dropping coverage on the one you were using. you do need special insurance coverage to be an uber driver in the first place so its not like they didnt know about his job and the fact they are totaling the damages means that he got into contact with them about it.
@@russia1305 you do NOT need special insurance coverage to be an Uber driver lmao. I’m an Uber driver. All you need is the bare minimum insurance which is called liability insurance. Because if there’s an accident everyone else will be covered, you just won’t be.
For those interested the drivers name is Mike Bussan, he got surprised with a cash reward ($5,000) that he rejected and gave to the family instead as well as donating blood. The brothers survived, they’re all doing much better now :)
he rejected money rewards? MOST people would gladly receive it knowing he lost his SUV, due to insurance and hygiene reasons. It's something else knowing these types of people would do this freely. Kudos to Mike as a special human being.
in the other news, Mr. Bussan rejected a $5000 reward (funds raised by an activist, Ja’mal Green) to help him repair the damage in his SUV and asks to give it to the victim's family. Mike Bussan also plans to setup a GoFundMe to help the victim with his medical bills. This man is a gift from God that keeps on giving. God bless you sir.
Big ups to Ja’mal also for setting up this money and getting the flow started. Why don’t news cover more often on when us Black and Brown folks help each other’s? It happens a lot more often than drivebys. Just sayinnnn
The victim is stuck on a ventilator due to complications from his injuries. Had he not gone to the hospital immediately, he almost certainly would have died. Uber needs to step up and give him recognition and a new vehicle.
good point. uber could absolutely exploit this for their own good publicity. they wouldn't even feel the cost of a new car, but the good PR would probably bring in millions. make him the face of a marketing campaign

It do be like that in the "best country of the world". Any other country he could have just called an ambulance. Sure, they'd have taken a bit to show up, but they could have treated them during the transport already and he wouldn't have had to ruin his car and make a risky race through town.
@@LRM12o8emergency ambulances and surgeries are free in america, they’re also much faster in response because of the amount of private ambulances. just say u don’t know anything bro
@slipperylatex872 think you should say you don't know because ablilamces are not free in the US. It's about $1000 to be picked up by an ambulance and hospitals aren't free either. They also aren't fast because unless they are already nearby it's going to take time for them to get about 7-14 minutes on average. That is enough time for some one to bleed out or be rushed to a hospital by private car. There is a reason people rarely call ambulances compared to the number of ER visits arriving by personal car, taxi or other transportation that isn't an ambulance. Hospitals are even more expensive.
Uber and his insurance company did not hesitate to turn this hero's inspirational moment into his downfall!! It's like he's being punished for doing one of the most heroic thing's I've seen in awhile!!

There are still good people in the world....and his car being totaled by his insurance company and losing his means of earning a living certainly gives me some insight into why so many people are reluctant to step up, and step in, to help total strangers out in emergency situations where seconds save lives. I need a follow up to this story.
i really think anyone who does not believe that the world is full of good people needs to find some faith and connection with their fellow man. there may be many systems that keep us apart, but there is always a great deal of goodness to be found

Insurance companies are so overpaid/priced they've decided to "total" every car, regardless if it's actually repairable or not. They don't want to hassle themselves. Despicable.
This is true but it’s also the paper work involved, arranging another car for the driver until his one is fixed, if the repairs are not up to standard for whatever reason then it all has to be done again and they use brand new parts from the manufacturer not used parts so that makes it cost a lot along with the labour costs involved. So they see a biohazard car and just total it because they can’t guarantee every last spec of whatever it was that caused the mess will be gone.
@@skyscrapers13 it’s not the people who work their that make the company policies about what to write off(total) and what to repair. It all comes down to what the vehicle is worth, how much the repairs all in will cost and time involved. It’s not even worth the hassle in going down the repair route a lot of the time so they buy the car off you for an agreed amount and then sell it at Copart or other insurance auction to recover some of their money and the guy who buys it will either fix it up or part it out. I don’t understand what your problem is with this system. I think you can even tell the insurance you wish to keep the car instead of have them take it away and they’ll give you some money towards repairs but I don’t know if that’s true or not.

Insurance companies are so overpaid/priced they've decided to "total" every car, regardless if it's actually repairable or not. They don't want to hassle themselves. Despicable.
Yea even if it’s an older car buying a rear seat would cost way less than the vehicle
