i purchased this scooter for the range, fast charging capabilities (i actually charge at electric vehicle charging stations utilizing the v4 roger charger, with the alien rides j1772 charge plug adapter. i am so happy with this scooter. this is actually the first scooter i have owned that hasn’t extremely frustrated me with low range abilities.
when i ride my scooters, i want to ride all day. not just a couple of hours.
the dualtron storm limited has a massive 45 amp hour battery, with a 84 volt nominal (94volts fully charged) battery, which is just perfect.
i will admit that i feel strongly that there is no battery that i consider too big, on a scooter. and i also love high voltage. even though this is the highest voltage scooter i have ridden, i would love for dualtron to offer a 168 volt system (battery and controller and motors) similar and even stronger than the 168 volt euc (electric unicycle) being released or possibly already released.
and i feel the same way about the battery amp hours. 45 amp hours is truly wonderful. if the battery was 60 amp hours, or 100 amp hours or more, that would be absolutely great.
i do think its very important that manufacturers start working with graphene battery technology because graphene is said to be the very best, for energy density, cycle life, quick charging, recycleable, and abundantly available. and must be developed the way ruble motors has developed graphene as a purchase option on the ebikes they sell.
the graphene rumble motors offers now, is 1000 watt hours per kilogram. lithium is approximately 250 watt hours per kilogram (energy density per weight of battery)
the graphene rumble motors is utilizing offers 20,000 to 30,000 charge/discharge cycles. lithium on similar testing offered 1000 charge/discharge cycles.
graphene does not have a fire hazard. which is significant.
many manufacturers say they are waiting for graphene to mature. rumble motors understood that maturity comes from research and development, and rumble motors matured the technology to be ready and available. and graphene is here now. we need only ask for our favorite micro mobility manufacturers to use graphene in the micro mobility tech, we love so much.

A pro tip. When doing speed runs make sure you do a dry run on the road that you going to take. Don't just eyeball it There could be debris or pothole in the road that will send you flying. An extra 10 minutes going 6mph down that road that you going to do a speedrun on might save you 6 months in the hospital. Always, always check the road ahead of you. Stay safe brothers.

Hey @Hector Mendez... thanks for visiting Scootopia.
Congratulations on your Dualtron Storm... I don't know how long you've had yours or your level of experience Riding The Storm but you want to use extreme caution when Riding The Storm and even more when Riding The Storm Limited (depending on your level of experience Riding HyperScooters) both of these Scooters posses unique characteristics that place them in a very niche Group ("Dangerously" FAST)
The Storm and Storm Limited are both squirley, jerky, aggressive, and very unpredictable in the wrong hands (inexperienced, new, novice Riders) either one should NEVER BE a FIRST Scooter in the hands of ANY of the aforementioned Riders.
All Scooters should be Respected but these Two Storms should ALWAYS be RESPECTED due to their unique NATURE.
My suggestion on these two Scooters especially, is to always set your settings at the lowest, easiest and slowest settings, especially Power output, battery save, and start settings. The more experience you get, then EASE UP your Settings.

From reaching out to a Distributor to help someone in your very same position... one thing I've learned from that gesture, is that a Vendor WILL NOT service or help Consumers with Scooters not purchased from them, unless those services are PAID.
They just will not do ANY work for FREE, for warranty, or anything like that on Scooters not bought from them.
If I were you, I'd reach out directly to MiniMotors in China and see what they can do to help you.
If you can't get any traction there... then I would suggest you reach out to The Dualtron Masters (MiniMotorsUSA [John and Cooper]) and tell them OhManDan recommended them as the best option to do this job. They will charge you though, and it may be expensive.
It is a major job but I would CALL if I were you... they might surprise us both and not be that expensive.

    • @SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan

Hey @GitDatPC... Congratulations on your Purchase of The Newly REVISED Dualtron Storm Limited. Once you get it up and RUNNING SAFELY, you are going to have a blast (hopefully You are an experienced Power Scooter Rider?).
As for the screw for the Fingerprint Reader, I was able to duplicate it at Ace Hardware. The Tire, can be one of two things... it's either under inflated or it has been sitting on a surface too long and was ruined (I even store my Scooters sitting on stools just to avoid that issue) but check your air pressure first, put the exact recommended PSI, and Ride it for about 10 miles (not fast but just to heat them up and see if that will smooth them out) if that doesn't work. You will have to buy new tires and I would recommend letting Voro know the steps that you have taken and that your Tires did not improve and you need new tires. They should replace them for you but I suggest you buy the PMT tires while you're buying.
Now, the problem with the New Dualtron Storm Limited is that the Motor Wire does not allow for an easy Tire swap and you might not be able to do it yourself, plus the Motors are larger along with the 12" size of the Tire which may pose another problem.
So be prepared for that bad NEWS.
Try what I recommended first and hopefully that takes care of the Tire issue. If not... Hopefully you're local in California and can drive your baby to The Dualtron Masters (MiniMotorsUSA and pay them to get your Storm LTD in tip top shape) just tell them OhManDan highly recommended them to you (you don't need to mention where you bought it, just that you need it FIXED and Tuned to tip top shape). They won't really care but it doesn't make things good in my opinion when someone buys a Scooter from one Vendor and takes it to another Vendor for repair (harping about the Vendor they bought it from)

Every Scooter has loosened components to aid in reducing damage during shipping (like brake levers, display, function switch, tail light, fenders) plus Tires are usually NOT inflated.
So make it a HABIT to ALWAYS check over your Scooter and tighten every Screw, ALL Dashboard (handlebar) Components, taillights, fenders and ADD AIR to TIRES. The recommended PSI on the Dualtron Storm is 50 PSI.
I always add my PSI 3 to 4 PSI less to give me a nice contact patch without rounding the tires (which impacts traction, especially if you're a person prone to speed)
Your problem with your Tires should ONLY be that they're un-inflated. Once you air them up, that will resolve the vibration and bouncy feel. That's real good because having to do a tire swap is more challenging on the Dualtron Storm Limited than ANY other Dualtron (and all Dualtrons are tough).
Stay SAFE out there my friend and please remember to always GearUP whenever, wherever You Ride.

@@SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan The rear tire was 45 PSI and the front was 39 PSI when I just checked. I aired up the front to match at 45 PSI. This poor Storm Limited had a rough time in shipping. It looked like it was UPS delivered by Ace Ventura lol. The rear fender brace was cracked in half on both sides.
I had to rig it enough to wear I could test ride it and look for other issues. The only thing seems to be that wobbling/vibration that feels like it's coming from the rear.
I think I saw online somewhere that there was a scooter repair shop in Chicago. That's a 3 hour drive but sounds like it might be worth it to have experienced hands on this thing.

    • @SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan
      @SCOOTOPIAbyOhManDan  Год назад +1

@@GitDatPC Is the wobbling while you're Riding (under load)? Or is it on the Bench being tested? Also don't go below 46 PSI, never lower than 4 PSI of the Manufacture recommended PSI (4 PSI is the HIGHEST amount to remove, never higher)
First try the 50 PSI before you start reducing the amount of PSI to add, just to identify that the vibration PROBLEM is the lack of air (which I highly suspect).
Test everything at slow, moderate, safe speeds just to identify the cause, then later you can reduce by 3 to 4 PSI your tire pressure to improve your contact patch but let's get to the root of the vibration first. For all we know UPS could have THROWN your box off the Truck and really damaged something so ALWAYS check Your Scooter more intensely for DAMAGE when the BOX is beat up like that and especially when Your Scooter has DAMAGE when it arrives.

A small correction if you allow me, I own this scooter, I changed the engines and it still shakes during strong acceleration, the second thing, the wheels are 11 because the factory decided to put 11 tires and remove the 12, the third thing, the controls are 45A not 50. I still maintain that even with the new motors the problem has not disappeared for good, it has a little more torque and can reach 95 km/h with my weight of 84 kg, measured on Garmin not on display. I firmly maintain that this scooter still has unresolved problems and I think those problems come from the controller, not from the engines. Have you not felt a strong vibration when you accelerate to the maximum and after picking up speed, that shaking disappears?

Yes, you’re absolutely right about the 45A controllers and about the manufacture deciding to change the tires from 12” to 11”. In order for your Storm ltd to work as advertised, you would need the latest controllers as well. They’ve also changed some electrical components of the scooter as well, so that the controllers can handle the 84v system. I also have this scooter and I waited and got the revised model. I was able to hit 68mph (gps) and it could’ve gotten more, but I ran out of road. I also weigh 147lbs btw, so that makes a difference lol.

Hey @Christian Lepah... thanks for your comment, I appreciate your intent and thank you for Visiting Scootopia. Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my Channel if you find my Content informative, beneficial, or helpful to your PEV Journey.
There are several things that you bring up that I experienced on my original purchase and I agree with here.
However there are other things that I recieved directly from an inside source about this revised version. Unlike my previous version, this one does not shake when I get it over 59mph (the shaking you saw in the video was from the Road).
I know this road well and chose it to demonstrate another angle of this Video. The Video is not only to show that The Storm Limited finally works perfect but to also point out the Dangers of jumping on a HyperScooter without having Power Beast Scooter Ride experience (especially on DT Storm and Storm Limited). Both these Scooters and even more so The Storm Limited are not for New, Begginers, Novice or inquisitive Riders. The Video was to demonstrate the Power and how unassuming the Scooter may appear when in reality it is very jerky, aggressive, powerful and unpredictable in the wrong hands. I planned and executed every part of the Video, including my demonstrations (and is why I gave early Disclaimer).
As for the Controllers... I was told by my source that the Controllers are 50A but let's just say they are 45A Controllers which I typically know that most Controllers match the The Battery (Ah), not in every case but most and I could have easily said that they were 45A just on my experience and knowledge but I trust my source and gave the stated 50A.
No whether it's 45A or 50A, the fact remains that I was able to achieve a very aggressive 61mph on GPS and established before everyone that the Storm Limited is corrected.
I have no stake in MiniMotors nor ANY Manufacturer and ONLY seek the TRUTH, and then SHARE those FACTS with Scootopians on my Channel. I AM A CONSUMER like You and everyone else.
I get NO freebies, discounts, favors, Affiliate links, nor kick backs and don't want them. My sole purpose for doing these Videos is to HELP people AVOID the pitfalls if buying an Electric Scooter.
I am an Humanitarian and Philanthropist who's Purpose in Life has been since I was 8yrs and remains... "To Help People WiN"
So there's never any ANGLE, any hustle, any purpose other than bringing the FACTS like I've ALWAYS done since filling the VOID to present reviews on Power Beast Scooters which weren't happening before I came along to present them, and that is because Vendors and Manufacturers could not afford to give them away for free (they were too expensive) and since I could afford to BUY and FILL that VOID... I set out to just that. I don't recieve anything from anyone in this Industry. I GIVE to this Industry. I do a lot behind the scenes that many people on RUclips and social media would never know unless they visit our website to learn more about OhManDan and what we stand for (www.WestCoastScooters.org)
The Tire size, I knew was 12" and never ask about any decrease in that size. They appear to be the same 12" Tire. I would have to check that for myself. The Motors have 10mm larger magnets, which make them larger Motors with a little more power.
You should get the New Revised version so that you can experience the changes that I've experienced and trust me I experienced the same dissapointment as everyone else after spending nearly $6000 dollars for this Scooter.
Based on your comment, it sounds like you did not get the Revised Version from MiniMotors and made all the changes yourself with the very large kit they sent out initially. I would suggest you somehow get the New Revised Version, it is a far cut above the previous Model and has all the improvements made in house at MiniMotors directly.
I really appreciate your constructive critique and not being disrespectful or totally opposite the context of the Video itself.
Hopefully you'd Subscribe to my Channel and I'd see you around more. I love good critique and often acknowledge where I'm wrong and make the changes... that's one unique characteristic of OhManDan.

Regardless of what the Controllers say (45A) or my (50A)... I think we both are very happy for the plethora of changes MiniMotors made to get this Scooter functioning properly and did not leave us hanging like the first Storm, which I also bought.

Now this APEX is suppose to make some changes towards a more mainstream eScooter with the kind of RION power people came to love. I can't wait to see that marriage and how practical it is in real life.

Range and suspension are way better on the Storm! I don't need more power I want more range personally! If you're going 45mph+ you can only ride 1hr on most scooters that have that speed. With this you can go 2-3hrs!

Hey @selfie183... thanks for Visiting Scootopia.
Just your statement alone reveal your human bias and prejudice. In this PEV Community it is well known and accepted that we ALL have our FAVORITES (it does not mean they are BEST for everyone) it is a natural human characteristic to be different.
As a matter of fact bias, and prejudice MUST be appropriated correctly (meaning not harmful, derogatory, defaming or meliscious thought, meaning or reason against another human being) it is not harmful when making personal preferential distinctions or choice.
Your likes, wants and needs are different from other's and that's ok... it's how we are made but you, nor I... or anyone else have the right to harm others because they don't AGREE with our bias or prejudices.
Please point out in my Video where I harmed anyone in stating any portion of my personal electric scooter bias or prejudice... and I will gladly apologize to those I harmed.
I think in your effort to harm me you mis-appropriated your bias and prejudice against what I expressed about this very powerful machine.

@@dopey310king the Display (or Speedometer) is usually off by -4mph.
Get an Official GPS App or equipment, which ever you choose and use it whenever you want an accurate Speed reading.
At your weight, it's not impossible for a person to get 70mph on the Revised DT Storm LTD. I know a Rider who got 72mph GPS on The RVSD Storm LTD according to others who were there. I did not witness it myself but if I can get 61mph GPS, it should not be unusual or unbelievable for any person (80lbs lighter than me, proper road conditions, climate, charged battery, settings etc) to get +70mph on The Revised Dualtron Storm Limited.
Whenever a person uses GPS, they'll always get accurate readings Buddy.
