Do you think that ESG will ever get back to reviewing scooters that are appealing to budget conscious consumers? You might be surprised to know that there are some AMAZING deals on scooters that will actually provide everything a person might need for a simple daily commute. Scooters that can be found for $400 to $800. I realize that may not make for an exciting review, but it might actually be helpful to a large audience in need of low cost transportation. Not sure who needs a $7k scooter that travels way too fast and weighs a ton. I'm guessing it's a very limited audience? It's an impressive machine (for what it is). And it definitely should be for that cost. You provided a thorough and informative review. I would think that a $7k scooter would have a high-end security option built-in. Potential for GPS tracking and SMS (txt notification) motion sensor alarm. Something many scooter companies should start looking into.
idk it is impressive that they did put these specs on a production scooter but at least in my mind the price is plain ridiculous... the one thing Im happy about (as any fanboy would be) is the fact minimotors is dominating the high end performance category right now it is not even close... I can't wait till we get the first x limited in greece I desperately need a test ride on this beast, you seem a little bit too excited about the comfort on this
There really isn’t anything I’ve ridden that compares on ride comfort. I sort of expected that part, but the corner carving ability was a huge surprise. It would carve even better and brake better if the tire profile wasn’t quite so square. I didn’t mention that in the review since it’s getting down to a level of detail that not everyone is interested in. -Paul
I busted my ass on a Burn E Max. Broke two ribs and my thumb... Locked up the front brake at 35 and it tossed me like a Judo throw from Superman. These things are no joke. Kind of like standing up on a mini bike...
Just to give you an afterthought. I have the ultra 2 and it is quick and I actually raced the x limited and my ultra 2 was quicker off the line even though this video says it's Not because of the weight of the x limited and weighed almost twice as much. That's the problem. I think you should just keep your ultra too. The only differences with the x limited, it is bigger but you're paying for that crazy suspension. It's not really about the speed anymore.
That’s beast of scooter, it reminds me of mad max thunder dome lol. Great review and ESG sorry you didn’t hit your mark on the give away and happy new year ESG .
Thanks Paul for the great review! Keep up the great work and Happy New Year! It is cool to see the extreme side of e-scooters. I used to be about e-scooters but after a certain point the portability aspect is just lost with hyper scooters. In addition, scooters just get boring to ride after a while for me regardless of top speed capability. At a certain power to weight to portability ratio it just doesn't make any more sense to me. I have been able to see over the past few years a steady transition away from hyper scooters in big group rides that cover about 25-30 miles and over 30mph speeds. Quite a few have gone to power e-bikes (like the Surron or Onyx RCR) but most have gone to electric unicycles. I still have three e-scooters my family and I ride all the time (Inokim Light 2, E-Twow GT, and Fluidfreeride Mosquito). 20-25MPH speed, sub-30lb weight and decent range are the perfect PEVs to do errands and quick trips around San Francisco and you never have to worry about locking them up because you can take them inside most places. If I am doing a fun cruise around San Francisco where I need to be in the 25-45mph range my Begode Master is soo much more fun to ride than any hyper scooter I have ever owned. The EUC is the only vehicle I constantly crave to just ride and that novelty quickly went away with hyper scooters.
Thank you for the insight! EUC's are super cool. I think if the learning curve was easier we'd see a lot more of them, because of their small size, high speed, and relatively long range for the weight. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide You need to learn to ride Paul! I ride with quite a few motorcycle riders that are super into EUCs. They all tell me about the similar feelings they get while riding a motorcycle but with your hands free :)
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Suspension and braking suck on eucs but flying is a dream come true for the broke people lol that cant afford pilot license.
yeah... I think there is a happy medium between portability and speed/range. The new Dualtron Victor Luxury Plus has the potential to tick all the boxes, at only 36kg, with 35ah battery, plus a headlight, horn and turn signals. It's only 1.16m long, much shorter than all the competition and nothing beats it at this weight. I still think the utility of a good portable powerful compact scooter like this beats any EUC or ebike.
These specs look insane but I really wish it looked more subdued and for a lack of a better word sexier. Looks pretty goofy in my opinion. I love my Apollo Phantom v2 and will get the v3 upgrade. The Apollo Pro looks really good too so I wish the dualtron would have looked similar to either of those scooters. The dualtron looks sort of like a toy. And the speed actually scares me. Would love that range tho. That would be amazing.
Great review! To be honest I thought it would go faster but at the same time would you really want or need any faster than around 100 kph if only going on public roads, idk. I mean it feel it's only a fun factor going faster. Anyway it looks really comfortable with the beefy tires and suspension and thinking in terms of comfortable it looks like it would be like driving a moped or something similar.
She will be Jelly of your X and big Dawg shaking his head on the lift 😆 👌 You guys should do a comprehensive safety gear episode. Street vs off road, motorcycle vs dirt bike vs downhill trail Personally I love my Project 23 ABS - 7iDP and so cal weather street jacket with pads. I don't wear wrist guard gloves because I delude myself into thinking I will remember to roll when I crash, 2 of my higher speed crashes have been triangle tumbles 🔻🔺and the other was a surfer backward tumble riding feet akimbo.
Ever since I broke my wrist at 15 mph because my glove stuck rather than slipping when it hit the ground, I've been wearing crazy-expensive gloves. (Held Phantom II) -Paul
At least with every previous "20kw+" weped the battery has never been enough to actually deliver that kind of power, the weped SST ("30kw") battery for example can barely put out 15kw and thats with pulling 20A from 10A cells.
Need to review one of Rions scooters. They have an older model that’s limited to 80 mph and another one is coming out soon that will do 75 mph. Extremely high build quality. I believe the older model is around $10k and the newer one is around $6.7k.
We’ve been asking for three years. It’s beginning to feel like they don’t want their scooters tested. If anyone in the Bay Area has one and wants to come out for a speed run with me, I would love to document it, or do the speed run myself. -Paul
Yes, I would love to at least do a top speed run. If anyone has any Weped, I would love to meet up for a top speed run to get it in the database! -Paul
Yeah, we almost took that part out, but never give up right? This weather isn't helping! I'm pretty sure we'll still give some scooters away no matter what! -Paul
Well, the warranty is going to tip the scales if it is as good as it looks. Support is amazing with this brand and with extended warranty? It already was a tank/bulletproof but this warranty through dealers and affirm can really make one want to roll out in a tank without breaking bank. i think it depends on if how much riding you need to do. This can be a daily driver vehicle for many. I do wonder how to carry groceries! Trailers for scooters?!
We love the BURN-E too! The X is better for long range touring, so the BURN-E is probably my second choice now if I had to cover 50 miles in a hurry. BURN-E is still king of the hill climb and 0 to 30, and one of our favorites to blast around on. -Paul
You're pretty much paying for the Range, Stability and *Handling for 7K on a 60MPH-class scooter. If only it can go 70MPH or more but I think this is more of a long range scooter rather than a top speed scooter.
So far, we have never seen a 70mph scooter first hand, in terms of "production" scooters that you can buy off the shelf, this appears to be the fastest. Though, I would love for someone, anyone, to submit a production scooter to us (something that can be purchsed with less than a 3 month lead time) that can go faster than this. -Paul
I'm surprised you guys haven't gotten to ride a Weped scooter yet. Here in my country (Chile) there is a reliable distributor so getting one shouldn't be too difficult in the US, I'd imagine.
This is hilarious! I ride a KX450F and I have respect for this scooter. Those small tires do not roll over obstacles like motorcycle tires so a scooter demands respect. I totally see why he says this scooter is intimidating. It's the BMW RR 1000 of the scooter world! I'm like Ricky Bobby: I want to go fast!
I have the DT X and just hate the flat T handlebar, very very uncomfortable, not at all ergonomic, it get even dangerous to ride!! I know it may not be practical for Dualtron to redesign the handlebar clamp, to be able to use mountain bike style handlebars, that would be really the best, and the people that pay so much would not care to pay a bit more to be able to use generic handlebars. But I wish they at least make some different handlebar ends with a slight bend back and a tiny bit down towards the rider, much more natural hand position riding standup, and much better while seated. Please Dualtron consider in making options for us customers!
I need one of these to be able to get to the east side of my mansion a lot faster from the west side of my mansion. Currently it takes me forever to walk that far.
Was that the indicated speed or GPS? Our King GT Pro was very stable at top speed, even when I was kneeling on the deck to reduce wind resistance. What tires are you using? -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide It was the indicated speed on the display. Yeah it was pretty stable at high speeds but when or if you hit a bump it slightly catches the wobble. I have on the street tires.
If you turn it all the way up it can be a little abrupt, but on the middle settings for "initial acceleration" it's very managable. The throttle response from the Storm Limited is a little fatiguing on long rides unless it's in ECO mode, but I didn't find the X-Limited to be that way at all. I never felt the need to reach for ECO mode when just riding around. -Paul
Totally agree, I got my Victor Luxury+ 2 months ago and the throttle is way too aggressive. And for whatever reason, it only happens in eco mode, should be the other way around.
All that scooter , shot down by yesterdays tech. Can you imagine driving a car or motorcycle and it jerks forward every time you accelerate? For some odd reason(cheaper and easier) they dualtron , feel the need to make all there scooters do just that. Sine wave all the way or do not bother …. Just plain silly
I've been doing a lot of research on e-scooters I'm looking to purchase a new one from the small one that I have and there's two scooters that I was actually looking at one of them is dualtron and the other weped and then I asked a question to two others and I got the same response but overall I think you summed up by curiosity and it's unfortunate that the other company hasn't sent you one they definitely would have had a sale but I still might you never know you did an awesome job thanks for your reviews and if possible let me know what you would recommend
Nice review. 183 pounds. Wow. I thought my Segway GT was heavy. I’d like to see a twist throttle in a scooter this beefy. Holding down a trigger throttle for four hours sounds really uncomfortable.
I'm also a big fan of twist throttles and think the half-width throttle on the GT is really a smart move because it makes accidental throttle input less likely when moving the scooter. -Paul
@@koraegis I think most of the more premium beast scooters have cruise control. My Kaabo Wolf King GT has that feature. I would be surprised if the Dualtron X Limited doesn’t have CC.
It’s all well and good until you come out of the grocery store and it’s gone and since its an e-scooter you won’t have insurance on it… ill just stick with my motorcycle aha
Man I could never afford that lambourgini so I started in scooters. Now you got me slippin on that dream lol. Looks sick gotta steal one apparently just kidding.
Is there a thumb throttle conversion that doesn't require soldering? I'm comfortable with a soldering iron, but would love to see a plug and play conversion. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I see some listings for 'ey3 display thumb throttle' on aliexpress. Unfortunately it is not available from standard channels. Alternatively, you can upgrade to Magura MT5 brakes, which have awesome stopping performance and very low-profile brake levers... It's a popular mod among Dualtron enthusiasts.
this would have been perfect for my situation living a bit outside of the city center and mid way to the university , it would make the perfect commuter , does it need a licence ???
I would love one of these, but it seems like you can get a Thunder 3 with comparable/more/better features for a better price point. It's definitely something to be catching on a sale if one is tryna blow some cash. X limited pros: Bigger tires Bigger deck More comfortable ride Thunder 3 pros: Waterproof rating Lighter weight/compact Affordability If they reduced the total weight a good amount, they could improve the performance stats and probably justify the price.
Pretty happy with my Wolf King GT with 66mph, 60 mile range for $3k. I can put it in my Model 3 trunk. btw, for $5k you can buy a used Suzuki Hayabusa!
I wonder what the water resistance is like. If I'm spending this kind if cash I wanna be able to throw on some rain gear and still run to work or whatnot.
When it comes to the very cheapest, they seem to have cornered the market and their customer service is improving quickly. Check out our database at electric-scooter.guide for all of the tested numbers. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide But you're not going over 22 miles an hour to do that. There's no way I can figure it out on a calculator how many amps the scooter has in the battery size is impossible
I feel the dulatron interface with random buttons on the handles, p setting no one gets and strange display with 3 buttons looks like a mess. imo kaabo interface is so superior to anything on the market, clean simple no app needed
I'm usually the one that has to have the fastest of any motorcycle or dirt bike. Had Honda CR 500's, Kawasaki KX 500, Kawasaki Concours 1400,Busa, Zx14r, Quadzilla, and Banshee quads but on scooters the Wolf King will be the fastest I'll ever own!
Happy New Year! It's not in the plan at the moment. We've never had much luck getting our hands on boutique-scooters like Rions, Wepeds, Hunter Quads etc. The boutique scooters seem to be built to order, and have extremely long lead times, so my guess is they have a hard time coming up with demo units. That or they're afraid I'd break it. The one time I tested boutique electronics in a custom build I broke it half-way through my first speed run. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide thats terrible. I would expect that if eco mode is enabled it would get atleast 60 miles if you were to be on a straight flat rural road.
Peak speeds between stop signs of about 30 or so. The actual average was 22.5mph, but that includes time spent speeding up and slowing down for stop signs. This was the fourth-fastest average speed for all of the range tests we’ve done. When we’re riding larger scooters, we’re typically going a little faster than the pace of the cars around us, but the rule of thumb is to just ride it how it feels like it wants to be ridden. We want to approximate how people will really ride them. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I just bought it. Waiting for it to be delivered in March sometime. I’m just not good at doing reviews. But I’ll let you guys know how it is.
Which Kaabo do you have? To me the ride quality and range are the reasons someone would get an X Limited and not so much top speed and acceleration. The Wolf King GT Pro might be unbeatable when it comes to top speed per dollar. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide wolf king GT, I have over 3000 miles on my scooter and I just got it less than 8 months ago. I break necks everywhere, in my videos you can see I added a trailer for my kids too.
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I'm heavily leaning towards the Wolf King GT Pro for the price, speed, stability, and range. I really wish it had these larger 13" tires; I suspect that's a huge improvement? This scooter looks amazing, but it's REALLY hard to justify 2x the price of the Wolf King GT Pro.
I've heard of burnt motor controllers from too much regen but never the EY3 itself. I know the early Storm Limiteds had some issues with motors and contollers. Was your friend's Storm Limited an early one or more recent? -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide I think he bought it around August of 22. At first we thought it was the controller because we had heard the same thing. But upon swapping of the original controller for a warranty replacement it still didn't work. He called mini motors and they sent him a new throttle. Swapping that fixed the problem. All of this while the regen was on its lowest setting. To this day he swears against regenerative braking, at least with his storm limited. I almost bought a storm limited but instead I got the WKGT Pro with the sine wave controllers. That actually has a voltage protection circuit when regen braking is used. But even minimotors USA told him not to use regen braking.
The EMOVE Cruiser would be my pick, but it's $1399 It's on Ramier's list of best single motor scooters for heavy riders. -Paul Link to the EMOVE Cruiser: geni.us/Cruiser?track=YT
I'd love to do a top speed run on a Rion someday if they'd send us one. I imagine that riders who want an X-Limited wouldn't want a Rion, and the other way around. The two scooters are just so different. The Rion is much lighter, but has a lot less range and little to no suspension. Lead times are very different too. The X-Limited is in stock in Los Angeles, but RIONs can have 6 to 12 month lead times. If anyone has a Rion in the Bay Area and would let me do a speed run, or let me document their speed run at our test location, I would love to include it in the official list of fastest scooters. -Paul
I didn’t miss it as much as I thought I would. On the Storm Limited it was a must-have. On the X Limited, I literally never found myself reaching for ECO, once I got the P-settings to a nice medium-aggressive place. :-) That said, I would have rather given up almost any other button! (4 buttons for lights feels like at least 2 too many!) -Paul
At this point , why not bying a minibike , ok it would be gas, but its safer with even bigger wheels, half of the price, longer range, and it terms of weight, im pretty sure they are closer than we think. We re pushing the limit of scooter speeds at the expense of wieght and safety. I have a 13kg 350W scooter running at 22mph and its perfect balance of weight/portability and performance for commuting and cost me 1100usd
We showed the Weped Dark Knight in the video. Its standard 60ah 4,320 Wh battery pack is smaller than the X-Limited's standard 5,040 Wh battery, but if you add on the Weped's optional external 30ah pack then the Weped has the larger battery at 6,480Wh. We would love to test a Weped some day, but they've never been willing to submit one for testing. -Paul

Yes absolutely we will! Thanks for stopping by. -Vosk
idk it is impressive that they did put these specs on a production scooter but at least in my mind the price is plain ridiculous... the one thing Im happy about (as any fanboy would be) is the fact minimotors is dominating the high end performance category right now it is not even close...
-Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide can we get different tires for better carving and breaking do you think?
I busted my ass on a Burn E Max. Broke two ribs and my thumb... Locked up the front brake at 35 and it tossed me like a Judo throw from Superman. These things are no joke. Kind of like standing up on a mini bike...
Sorry to hear that! Hope you feel better very soon. -Vosk
I went from the Vsett 10+ 25.6 AH to the Dualtron Ultra 2 and I strongly believe this will be my next and final stop... Loving this beast!!
Awesome! Glad you love it. -Vosk
I'm also not looking at anything else other than Dualtrons after going from my Mantis to Thunder 2.
Also I weigh two hundred and ten pounds six feet Tall
That’s beast of scooter, it reminds me of mad max thunder dome lol. Great review and ESG sorry you didn’t hit your mark on the give away and happy new year ESG .
Thanks so much! I'm pretty sure we'll still give some scooters away. Stay tuned for updates! -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide np thank you finger crossed 🤞
Eucs are the bomb. Come fly with me. Just watch the way down lol.
Very insightful! Thanks for sharing. -Vosk
Mine gets delivered today. Gonna be my first stand up scooter. Also ride an Onyx RCR and got 16,500 plus miles on it.
If I owned a home with garage, I would def have one.
Thank you so much! -Paul
Hopefully someone would enlighten me as a Torontonian, where I can buy one of this machine, and cost in Canuck money.
Great scooter and I am glad that it has bigger tires. 10 inch tires are a little scary going very fast.

You guys should do a comprehensive safety gear episode. Street vs off road, motorcycle vs dirt bike vs downhill trail
Personally I love my Project 23 ABS - 7iDP and so cal weather street jacket with pads.
I love that the video was shot in my neighborhood in East Oakland. 😊
Thts weped... Those things go up 70+ mph. BEAST of a scooter. With a liquid cooling system. Dream scooter right there.
But do they? I'd love it if they would send one for an official test, but three years on, we're still waiting. -Paul
-Paul
I have a Nanrobot LS7+ and it’s got incredible power, even for a 275 lb rider like myself.
Can only imagine this beast.
We will try to get one to test! -Vosk
I’ve always wondered why you guys haven’t reviewed the Weped DK as yet but now I know.
Yes, I would love to at least do a top speed run. If anyone has any Weped, I would love to meet up for a top speed run to get it in the database! -Paul
I've expected a higher top speed. Just a lil bit faster than a Thunder 2.
Have you already reviewed the Achilleus? I own one and am very happy so far.

Just ordered mines about a hr ago💪🏾
Well, the warranty is going to tip the scales if it is as good as it looks. Support is amazing with this brand and with extended warranty? It already was a tank/bulletproof but this warranty through dealers and affirm can really make one want to roll out in a tank without breaking bank.
i think it depends on if how much riding you need to do. This can be a daily driver vehicle for many.
I do wonder how to carry groceries! Trailers for scooters?!

I'll always love the Nami Burn E.
We love the BURN-E too! The X is better for long range touring, so the BURN-E is probably my second choice now if I had to cover 50 miles in a hurry. BURN-E is still king of the hill climb and 0 to 30, and one of our favorites to blast around on. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide wow, I love your reviews. Very informative
-Paul

The US doesn't have any official distributors for the Weped scooters. We have to get them straight from Korea.

Thank you for all your feedback! Noted. -Vosk

Ive gon 67.3 mph on the wolf king gt pro. I weigh 160. The wolf needs a stabilizer for speeds like that. I almost died lmao
Was that the indicated speed or GPS? Our King GT Pro was very stable at top speed, even when I was kneeling on the deck to reduce wind resistance. What tires are you using? -Paul
wri g fast eñough
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide It was the indicated speed on the display. Yeah it was pretty stable at high speeds but when or if you hit a bump it slightly catches the wobble. I have on the street tires.
If they got rid of all the vanity lighting they might be able to sell that thing for $3999 instead lol
Throttle response was never mentioned and that’s a major concern with Dualtrons, is the jerky throttle.
Just plain silly
great review!!
Glad you enjoyed it! -Vosk

-Paul

have a friend with the storm Ltd. He fried his EY3 throttle by using regen. did they FINALLY implement voltage regulation on the regen circuit?

You honestly can’t go wrong with either! Our opinion is X limited is superior.
not having the eco/turbo button at a thumbs distance away is bad
I didn’t miss it as much as I thought I would. On the Storm Limited it was a must-have. On the X Limited, I literally never found myself reaching for ECO, once I got the P-settings to a nice medium-aggressive place. :-) That said, I would have rather given up almost any other button!
