- I played on 10 different types of pianos. There are many different types of pianos for different occasions. Pianos for students, professional pianists and amateur pianists. Can you hear the difference between them?

Strangely enough, I liked the "student" one (which looked like an hybrid electric with soundboard), but especially the one at 2:07. When put side by side like that, it sounds so rich with all that room reverb.
It's not a hybrid electric actually. It's a typical fully electric piano called the Celviano. It's made by Casio in collaboration with Bechstein. That one most certainly had the patented hammer action (yes, it has hammers inside) and the full resonance capability. It is very expensive (about 2000 dollars which is twice that of a Yamaha MX-88) but it is very nice to play.
The piano for tuners is just purposefully detuned and most certainly not miked well. With a microphone inside it would sound fantastic despite the tuning.
@@PiotrBarcz Interesting, I would have thought it was a hybrid electric piano. Most of the electrics I got the chance to try didn't sound that good; they always sounded way too digital for my liking. This one does too, but less so.
Strangely enough, I liked the detuned honky-tonk piano even though it wasn't recorded properly.

My favourites the Honky-Tonk and the "Tuner's piano"
The Tuner's Piano is much better than the Honky-Tonk. The Barthol & Berlin had it's hammers lacquered and it sounds waaaaaay too hard.

I've watched and listen to you play Scott Joplin on an 1915 up right to a very expensive grand piano ,and the old upright sounds perfect 👍

I got to 1 year with exception of Bach’s first prelude at 5. Amazing how much of the pieces up to the first year that I have learnt and played.

He played part of the song Mad World on one of those. It is in his video called "bizarre instruments", or something like that. He also played things like the kazoo and slide whistle.
When you play the piano "for tuners" has a magical and beautiful old sound!! I prefer it !!!
There is something more honest about it than the cold perfection of fine pianos. It sounds like my old piano so perhaps I'm nostalgic.

It's very interesting to hear the differences of sounds.
I prefer acoustics pianos and the harpsichord.
The old piano is perfect to play Scott Joplin.

Most ragtime composers took there genre as seriously as any other form of music, they kept there piano tuned too.
As a D&D nerd I'm somewhat amused that the piano for dwarfs is called C.R Riegel.
Also, anyone remember those, roll-up pianos? Were all the rage back in, oof, decades ago? Always wondered how well a professional could play with those.

You really can't have too many pianos in a collection . Not one sounds exactly the same as any other!
I had a roommate once who had her own piano and I had mine. It seemed silly at first but they were very different instruments.
