I’m actually very impressed with this. Only issue is you have to use common sense. Two studs are always 12-16 inches apart and anything in between could be electrical or plumbing.
An interesting theory... I just put the stud finder up against a bundle of new romex and it did not light up the yellow bars. I held it up to my stainless fridge and it did not light up the yellow bars. I sat it on top of an unplugged washing machine and got 3-6 yellow bars out of a maximum of 6. It doesn't make any sense. I'm sure there is a reason for the inconsistency but I do not know it.

The "voltage " finder actually picks up copper so ANY wires will be picked up by it
It may detect wires by the metal content, not electrical charge. AKA metal detector.

i just bought at costco red line all over ,what happen early seem not accurate later work well when you put bracket and hanger picture ?
does it detect water pipe?
