Mass effect 2 is much better than the 1st
One of the best MINd BLOWING experiences as a teen was learning that my Mass Effect 1 save file effected and continued the story in part 2 🤯😭
ME2 easily had the best character development in the entire trilogy.
It was this game that got me into the trilogy in the first place
Same, in the beginning there was a huge learning curve but once u get into it, it was my most replayed game of all
To be fair that games focus is only on characters lol. The story is bad.

The Normandy upgrades, rushing to save Kelly, the crew strategy on every position, crew personalities, dialogues...
Game is truly a masterpiece.
Especially Suicide mission scenes with soundtracks.

8/10 for me. Enjoyed it heavily but calling it a RPG is too generous, missions can be exceeding tedious and shooting mechanics are not that great, just acceptable.
World building, character growth, dialogue progression and that Suicide Mission Finale are pretty great though.

The suicide mission at the end is still one of my greatest video games moments to this day.

Walking away from being the shining errand boy or girl of ME 1 going into the dark underworld of the galaxy in ME 2 :D
It's a complete tonal shift from before, showing you the shady underbelly of the galaxy that had only been glanced in ME 1. The first time transitioning from 1 to 2 is truly eye opening. ME 2 impressed me from the start 😃

Dunno if this helps, but we figured out that the game timer will only reset when you Resume from the Legendary launcher. If you Start from the launcher then Resume from the ME2 main menu the game timer doesn’t reset. Pretty annoying but it’s a workaround at least!

Hm 100 hours seems a little much, I've done everything you can do in this game and never came close to 100 hours.

@@Radwar99 ME1 writing isn't bad in my opinion but it is the weakest compared to the two others. remember citadel DLC.
ME2 had the best written characters of the trilogy but the weakest main and side quests compared to 1 and 3 (aside from the suicide mission), even some of the loyalty missions are just meh

Where is the part 3 review?
My biggest problem with the game is there are still glitches in this game that were around 11 years ago. Like how Shepard would sometimes slow down or stop all together when you are moving around in the open.
Well it's still in the same engine..
You want a glitch that's still around?! During Thane's loyalty mission, when you get stopped on the catwalks, the game will glitch and get you stuck, unless you rush through the conversation. That is unacceptable!

It's 2024: Playing Hardcore run of ME2 and gonna go right into 3. Then go back through the trilogy in a deep dive on Insanity. This series is timeless

Great review except all the character specific spoilers when mentioning characters near the beginning of the review. Would hate to be someone who hadn't already played the game and seeing that.
Are you talking about the "GARRUS!" line? Seriously, you'd have to be living under a rock to not know that Garrus is in this game considering how much fanart there is of him out there.
And he said mass effect 2 completely spoiling the opening title for me!

@@iamthenati I'm playing through ME3 right now, just beat Horizon and started the Citadel DLC. The combat in 2 was great, but ME3's combat system runs Biotic Charges around it.

ME2 is actually my least favorite this time around. Love the suicide mission. But the whole game feels based on side missions. 🙈
First game had a better story, the third has better gameplay, but the second is the most fun and engaging for me. Easily one of the best games from last last gen.

Why is this a 9? I don’t usually do these sorts of comments but we have the privilege of seeing this game exist as a landmark to storytelling and character interaction within video games for over a decade now. This is the easiest 10 since 2010.

ME2 is still the best in the series, improved gameplay, removed the dumb forced driving sections, best group of party in all the games... Like so freaking cool to have a geth as a party member... Also actual consequences! Like your team members can actually die in this!
ME2 is better than ME1 for a lot of reasons, but the main reason is Biotic Charge

Youre complaining about vehicles, scanning & gunplay. I've always been a big fan but teammates bugs while playing on hardcore or insanity is ridiculous. There not as bad on veteran. The fact that they didn't attempt to fix some of the major issues is ridiculous.
Failing to mention how badly EA has mucked up the cinematography of this game is an unforgiveable oversight.
Back when EA and Bioware were in their glorious days, this game is a fine example of how an action rpg should be made.
Somehow Mordin survived 2 for me.
If you have all loyal, the easiest way to make all survive is to take 2 squishies (Mordin, Jack, etc.) with you through it all. Mordin also works to burn the 'final boss'
