DJ Evil Dee made this beat, he's part of the producing group Da Beatminerz
The best of the best
baggy jeans, hoodies and timbaland with the laces undone, a peruvian hat and a back pack, oh yes , that's the 90's ! I still dress like that. and keeping the price tag on your cap...used to have a pager as well, holy crap, i'm old !!!!
all of that is still around except the pagers lol
Pushing 40 dawg, I feel you, lol
Lol
01:09 CJ starts to have that same feeling I did in 93✊🏿
You know the track is sampled from a Jazz song by Ronnie Laws called "Tidal Wave"
You feel and live hip hop you dont just say crap on a track, it has soul. There are dudes still out here doing it, support them! You got the props!
Banger!!! Props to Ronnie Laws for the sample too.
Great reaction Pops and Son.
I'm 41 back in the day I had a backpack but for my paint but I was always jamming to this tune 90s hip hop hit entirely different. It can be enjoyed now of course but feeling it when it was new was something special.
I still carrying a back pack just from being in the USMC .
One of my favourite songs in hip hop in general
I don't have the cd anymore but the beat was probably made by Da Beatminerz(Evil Dee and Mr Walt)
iyaramonk Always loved the jazz samples Beatminerz chose. They changed my view of Hip Hop when I was young. Evil Dee did this track on his "own", but Mr. Walt probably helped in some manner.
Yes,good to see reviews being done on these real classic real Hip Hop jams and hope it helps real Hip Hop make a real strong come back and blow today's wackness today.

That beat is from a jazz song called Tidal Wave by Roney Laws. It didn't change much, they sped it up.
Look up the original song tidal wave on RUclips.
Funny thing is back in the 90s, everybody said 1985 to 1989 was raps golden era. Funny how perceptions change over time.
Ricardo Migu-El Cerro ALI Big Facts it seems like Hip Hop is the only genre of music that tries to down play the roots of the art form
React to Grand Puba "What Goes Around".
This is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Bruthas was just so smooth with it back then, the wordplay and flow was filled with substance and clever lyrics but they made it come off so effortless. Classic👌🏽. You guys should react to black-smif-n-wessun

Good to see young cats that can appreciate!
The streets was changing around the time this came out.
The samples to flow over were amazing.
Black rappers had a chance to explore their musical options.
Record companies had A&Rs that would go to the check signers and say “this record is dope!” And you got signed if you were.
They tested the record on the streets.
This song if flawless as far as music goes.
Buckshot Shorty kept every verse interesting as he just dominated the track.
Stickin and moving like a boxer.
It was the most intelligent era of rap.
The streets were very discriminatory when it came to rap songs.
You had to be nice or you got zero respect.
Then the industry realized that young blacks called the shots message wise and shut it all down.
We didn’t wanna be gangster 24/7.
Cats were wearing college hoodies and relating to their African identity.
Somebody up there didn’t like that.
It was powerful!
Power is a threat to the controllers.
We need to get that back.
Usher used this sample on his first single .
“Think of you”.
Buckshot & Dru Ha started DuckDown management & label. Dru Ha is from White Plains, NY. He made that clear on the only song he rhymed on called U Da Man off of the Enta Da Stage album.

Ronnie Laws (Tidal Wave)
Fire!
Classic!
Real hip hop
Original music is my Ronnie Laws and the name of this masterpiece is Tidal Wave. I love hip hop but old skoolheads know that very few rappers/djs played musical instruments. Back in the day, rappers/djs always gave credit to the musicians that got their music from (James Brown, Rick James, etc.) and it was listed on the albums. Nowadays they don't mention it to appear more creative I guess. Nevertheless, I always liked the lyrical flow of Black Moon.
Classic
