This man is an absolute global legend. His work is pure concentration and velocity. Drives the story and brings it home. I wish nothing but success for this man.
I loved him in the film. He was my favorite character. I thought he was the most important character in the film. Thanks for showing me this and the rest of the world.
Seriously, he was awesome in The Kingdom. He made the movie worth seeing til the end and he out-acted everyone. His acting made me cry, too... Great actor!!!
I just watch the Kingdom again the first i watched this movie that was 2006 i guess? When my Father brought a CD from here in Saudi Arabia and i watched it again and i love Ahsraf as Saudi Police Colonel and i miss my Father watching this
that is a good perspective, he is a really good actor and this was his first American Movie. I think he did well, we won't give the ending away to those people who havent seen the movie yet. ;-)
That was really a brilliant movie. Ashraf Barhoum was really great actor, as well as Jammie Foxx (of course!)... I would buy this movie in a heart beat when it is released on DVD.
I just had to look him up as soon as I watched the movie. Googled him and oogled him on screen lol A very good actor. Love it alot. Hope to see more and more of him on the big screen.
bluestudio67 yea didn't say it didn't, it was just a little too heavy in this interview. an accent is good, but when it's so heavy that it's hard to understand what he's saying, then it's not. pretty excited about season 3, can't wait to see where they take the show
EmoSalad - I have seen it spelled both ways. But the press information that was released to me by the studio had his name spelled Barhoum, so I went with that. I am not sure of his exact orgins, but I feel that he is a great actor either way, I do know that he received, or was nominated for what would be the Israeli equivalent of an Oscar. I don't remember the exact details, this interview was months ago. But thank you for watching.
Aleksandr Kravchenko He was the one l loved watching because nomatter how evil his father tried to make him!! That was not the inside him,, he was a real good person with love of his blood but Bassam was the real devil right from his childhood ....
I freakin love this dude!! He was so good in The Kingdom...I hope they made him rich after that movie. I second that 'Mskatay,' he is pretty hot lmaoo. And soo cuteee :)
omg i love ashraf.. he is a very good actor and i think like ''Eurekas'' that Ashraf should get in moore U.S films.. but it was a bit sad when he died in the end :(
This actor is hyper talented and he is right that the plot doesn't bore one with cliches or other stereotypes. It reveals typical bureaucratical obstacles in KSA like a stamp from Israel in your passport, that terrorism represents a problem that hasn't gotta be necessarily committed in western industrialized countries but has concerned in the 1990ies even cities in the country which is the centre of Islam, i.e. Saudi Arabia. Ashraf Barhom acts here far better than the rest of the cast- MABROUK!
I Love This Movie Better Than Syriana.I Hope They Make Another Movie In The Arabian Gulf Such As Qatar,Bahrain Or Kuwait So The World Will Know The Life Style In These Countries Like The Scene When Alghazi setting With His Son And serg. Haythem with his Father Praying Togather That Was A Beautiful Scene.
He is a Christian. I have met him personally and he is a great guy. I live in a village not far from Tarshiha (the village that he is from). His an Arab not Israeli. An Israeli is a Jew. He is a Palestinian Arab. He is sooooo good looking in real life. He did a great job on this film and the Golden Globe winning Paradise Now. Catch him in his next role in the film Coriolanus opposite Ralph Fiennes.
Good Job Ashraf ! He's called an Arab-Israeli, but in reality Arab Israelis are Palestinians granted by the fact that they are familiarly related to the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. But that was a great role, he's awesome!
GUYS! Ashraf Barhom is not a muslim.. he's christian... i am also from Galilee. Israel.. he is originally from a village called Tarshiha which is very close to where I live... and my mother is friends with his mother which also appeared in one of his movies "The Syrian Bride".. :)
ok,boys and girls, greetings from lisbon, portugal! check this very talented actor on the clash of th titans!!! pretty cool! he plays the hunter Ozal, God bless!be well.
yes he was in the the Syrian bride!! and jeffinphx... actually he's Ashraf is a christian arab! yes yes! we do exist!! although what really matters is that he's a greta actor! that make us palestinian pretty proud!
" Then, why do they hate very much each other? " - not "each other", but arabs hate Israelis... Ashraf Barhoum Israeli arab, graduated Haifa University. How many jews do you know in arabic countries that graduated university and did such a success?
Ashraf was my favorite character in The Kingdom. My favorite part is right after the when Jason Bateman is pulled out of the overturned suburban. Ashraf leans out of the window of the overturned SUV, and shoots the commander of the kidnappers in the leg, while Jamie Foxx rolls up and shoots him while he's down. That was awesome.
I don't deny that we share roots. But in reality, most Jews now are not semitic (Especially European and Russian jews called "Ashkinaz"). I don't have anything against a Jew that has nothing against Palestinians as a nation. I had a great jewish friend who beleived in a single state solution where Jews and Arabs coexist in a secular democracy. I agree with you, its better speak than fight :)
Maybe if you would read my actual comment, I said CHARACTER. I'm only disappointed in those that seem to want to correct me but are not even reading my comment right.
I'm fascinated by the person who claims to be related to Ashraf... If I say that I'm related to the inventor of mechanical pencils will people believe it? ROFL.
lo ur actually right iam lebanon muslim and my mom practices muslim very much but when shes me touching my girlfriend or kissing her or making out with her she just laugh at me and u know what im actually shy to kiss my f in front of my mom
yes i do... but what u said was just crazzy talk. it made u sound like a freak,, hey sis, i didnt mean to offend u or anything, im just here to help u out.
lol he's a christian , sorry to disappoint you. but yea he's an arab. maybe next time you be proud of him because he's an arab !! not because of religion. don't make it about religion when it's not !!
"Listen,mr eeh...specialagent Fleury. 47 of my men were blown to hundreds of pieces that will take months to collect them. 80 000 officers across the country.Thousands of people that can forge identity. I´m very sorry,I apoligize I dont have definitive answer!" Or the very funny cause Bateman isnt funny in this one...-"By the way,I...dont like your jokes." Not only was him name clusterfucked along with Suleyman...THEY GOT HIS NAME WRONG. Bahroum? If his name was on the poster,he´d be a star...
He is a Christian. I have met him personally and he is a great guy. I live in a village not far from Tarshiha (the village that he is from). His an Arab not Israeli. An Israeli is a Jew. Seriously, he was awesome in The Kingdom. He made the movie worth seeing til the end and he out-acted everyone. His acting made me cry, too... Great actor!!!
He was great as Colonel Faris in The Kingdom!
He is still in character for this interview ...
I just watch the Kingdom again the first i watched this movie that was 2006 i guess? When my Father brought a CD from here in Saudi Arabia and i watched it again and i love Ahsraf as Saudi Police Colonel and i miss my Father watching this
I love him in Tyrant! Omg! His character in Tyrant was one you want to hate and at the same time, love... JAMAAL! ✌🏽😍
I've written a script set in the early days of the war in Afghanistan, and he is the one I've pictured as one of the Northern Alliance leaders.
that is a good perspective, he is a really good actor and this was his first American Movie. I think he did well, we won't give the ending away to those people who havent seen the movie yet. ;-)
That was really a brilliant movie. Ashraf Barhoum was really great actor, as well as Jammie Foxx (of course!)... I would buy this movie in a heart beat when it is released on DVD.
this guy is one of my favorite actors now!! he did such good acting in the movie, i also belive without him this movie wouldnt have been accomplished
I just had to look him up as soon as I watched the movie. Googled him and oogled him on screen lol A very good actor. Love it alot. Hope to see more and more of him on the big screen.
The guy is killing it on that show Tyrnt. the writing is weak, but I tune just to watch this guys performance. He is Good.
+bluto212 yep. his english has *vastly* improved from where it was in this interview
+Lotak Smith His accent makes it all that much more believable. I love that show. Season 3 this summer.
bluestudio67 yea didn't say it didn't, it was just a little too heavy in this interview. an accent is good, but when it's so heavy that it's hard to understand what he's saying, then it's not. pretty excited about season 3, can't wait to see where they take the show

YEAH he did kick ass!
An awesome, magnetic, outstanding, actor. Blows me away in every episode of Tyrant.
He was my favorite character in the movie, I was so pissed when he died.
Aleksandr Kravchenko
He was the one l loved watching because nomatter how evil his father tried to make him!! That was not the inside him,, he was a real good person with love of his blood but Bassam was the real devil right from his childhood ....
i hope he gets noticed by movie producers world wide, on imbd seems his popularity went up 150%
Ashraf is so great in the Kingdom. Go Ashraf!!

this movie is great! a sad realisation that peace is yet a ray of thin light in the dark
He gave a great performance in The Syrian Bride, good actor all round.
