Have a couple of sets of these Rothco's for backpacking in the summer. Almost exactly what I was issued back in the day. They were baggy for cooling and thin to wick sweat and for faster drying when they got wet (a lot). Sleeves were almost always rolled up or cut off short, or Mommasan would stitch them up. Main problem with the issued (and these) are that they ripped at the knees a lot of the time and the seats blew out. Good review.

Not a fan of rothco personally. Baggy and a weird cut that isn’t correct. For instance if you throw insignia on your uniform ie a CIB or jump wings over the Army branch tape the collar covers it up. I also recommend redying the uniform to a darker more correct OG-107 color
Hey Ive got a quick question regarding what size of jacket and trousers i should get ? Im about to buy the same uniform in tiger stripe . Normally i wear shirts and jackets in the size S/M And my trouser size is 34" width / 33" lenght. So what which Size would you recommend for me ? For the Rothco Fatigue Jacket i was thinking M but as you said in the video the jacket is quite baggy . So would be the Size S be a better fit ? And for the Trousers i thought of Size M . What Size are your trousers ? And may i ask how tall you are ? Sincerely Daniel
God why on earth did I get rid of my different coloured tiger stripe rothco bdu's, very vietnam like. I feel silly about that to this day. Easily replaceable tho.
Trick from the bush.... Wear a pair of women's nylon stockings, (seriously) leeches can't get through the nylon, and most SEALS wore nylons with jeans because spiders and mosquitoes couldn't get through the denim ...
They’ve been trying to get another supplier for the poplin material they use for uniforms. Word is they’re gonna be restocking their ODs by winter of 2019
I will tell you this, don’t buy any rothco uniforms, the Proper company makes a better version or ripstop, some places will sell the jackets and pants for $30-$40 and a cap for $$14 they make cotton or polyester, and the draw string on the bottom were to help make it easier and quicker to blouse they’re boots, just a more efficient way, all uniforms will be lose aswell, they’re designed to be versatile, if you’re a small guy with big arms you’ll need the room, and it helps keep you cooler

I'm 2 years late but I'd start from ebay cause they have pretty good deals on equipment and you don't need a ruck sack if your just starting Vietnam, and if your doing airsoft Vietnam I'd get A belt Ammo pouches 2 canteens And a JFAK (jungle first aid kid) And suspenders if you want and of course maybe 1 or 2 bandoliers
I used rothco pants and they were terrible color was way off and the material was too thin. I got a pair of real jungle trousers and it was worth the price, just spend the extra 50 bucks.

I just wear the shirt for airsoft and normal wear because I'm poor. It was a good buy. Very versatile and a nice casual look.
