I had to order replacement tubing once from Tunze once because I did not think to use the push connect fitting, so, now if I ever need to replace that tube again I know I can use a way easier option.
I have a 20 gallon nano and that 10 second start is a problem. I unplug one side of the pump power and then turn it on. Then I reconnect the pump power. I know I will forget it sometime. I wish they had an override.
I've had an AquaAqua ATO for about 6 months and I'm thinking about getting the 3155 because I would like more layers of redundancy in case the optical eye fails. I have a 25g tank "WaterBox Penisula 25" though I'm not sure it will fit in the sump area. I've been honing in my stability really well and the only thing I ever worry about is my ATO over filling, so I always clean it with a toothbrush. It's filled it a couple times now a little too much but hasn't over filled it, I turned it off and I've been hand filling and measuring gravity lately. I think I'm going to move it to my freshwater system, and buy the 3155 but like I said idk if it will fit the inbuilt sumo on a waterbox 25 peninsula ):
We don't stock the Waterbox tanks, but by looking at the dimensions posted on their website, it looks like the 3155 will physically fit. I was also able to find a few posts out there on the forums where reefers have had success with that tank/ATO combo 🙂
Heys guys, enjoy the videos... I am getting my first Saltwater tank. I am starting with the 32 gallon Biocube. Here is my question. Is a Skimmer and a Osmolator absolutely necessary .
In such a small system, most of us would probably skip the skimmer. ATO's aren't absolutely necessary, but it's hard to go out of town for more than 2-3 days as you'll have to have someone come over and top the tank off for you without one.
The Osmolator Nano is built with smaller systems (under 50 gallons) in mind, so for a Reefer 250 at nearly 70 gallons of volume, we would recommend the Tunze 3155, if you wanted to stick with Tunze ATO's. We have quite a few different options at the link below if you wanted to look at some alternatives that might fit your system better: www.bulkreefsupply.com/auto-top-off/auto-top-off-systems.html
I just bought the Tunze Osmolator and got it all set up. Is the pump supposed to be very loud? I can hear it all through the house when the pump turns on...
It's not the quietest pump in the world, but the good news is that it only runs for a few seconds each time and should only come on a couple of times per day.
10 second of start-up pumping doesn't make sense to me... why would they design it that way? I went with the XP Auto Aqua, Dual-Sensor ATO. Very happy with the performance of the XP Auto Aqua.
I have owned a couple of these over the past years (and actually currently running one as I wait for the ATKV2) and I must say I really do not like them. The Nano has failed on me a couple of times and the big one is just too cumbersome, too many wires and connections, the pump is too loud, the extra float sensor is either useless (when connected to the same mount) or an even greater wire mess (when connected to the additional magnet), the alarm is simply INFURIATING (although I did finally found that there is a way to turn it off completely) and the 10 second when turned on also quite frustrating (especially when that triggers the alarm, which in turn leads you to unplug the ATO, which you cannot plug back otherwise it will trigger the alarm again, and you end up forgetting to do so). Phew! I had this stuck inside for a long time 😃
Sorry to hear that you've had a bad experience with Tunze. We've always had great luck with their products. If we can help in any way, our customer service team is available to help.

Thank you for the constant posts, always a great time when you guys post.
My ultimate ATO failed, I ordered a tunze and a whole lot of other goodies last Saturday. Can’t wait to hook it all up!
Sorry to hear about your failed ATO, but we think you'll really like the Tunze!
@@BRStv I had one on my first reef tank and it never failed me! Can’t wait to have another!
I ordered one last night:) can't wait to get it in.

We will get back there guys. Let's never forget the past but let's look forward to what is next.

thanks for all these posts!!! x-mas came early🥳🎄🎅🎁!!
How about squirting the ato water on the sensor each time. Wouldn't the RO water clean it every time?
Although it probably turn off every squirt 😅
Are these still the best of the best need a new one soon for my nano.
The Tunze 3155 is still our most popular ATO around the BRS office for sure!
Why does fill line gets clogged?
Are they going on sale black friday? I always do by hand but probably swith to kalkwasser down the road.
Osmolators are indeed on sale for Black Friday 🙂
Would this nano ato work on my Red Sea 250 g2?

What’s the best ATO for a 60” tall tank with rim.

Forgot to add, “not putting an float valve on the Tunze.” Virtually impossible to fail.
