  • If you're considering either the sequin Fendi Baguette or the Fendi Nano Baguette Charm, you'll definitely want to check this out. In this video, I share two of my recent Fendi purchases, both in purple sequins and both with their own set of quality issues. While no luxury item is perfect, the issues were only amplified by the poor customer service from Fendi. I'm still working with Fendi to address these two pieces, but wanted to share my experiences for anyone else that may be thinking about these items (as potential things to consider). Enjoy!

    Thank you for sharing. I actually have both of these pieces and love them. I’m so sorry you received faulty bags. My gut tells be that the nano bag is a return that wasn’t properly inspected before it was resold. I hope you are able to get a replacement. I’m also a huge Sex and the City fan and chased that medium sized purple sequin baguette for almost 3 years before getting it. It’s sentimental for me and is my very favorite bag in my collection. So I personally would do anything to hold on to it. However, I totally understand your frustration. These luxury bags cost so much, and lately the quality control has been less than luxurious. Give yourself a couple days to process for thoughts and feelings and make the decision that is right for you! 💜💜

      Thank you for the kind note 💜 That’s exactly why I’m struggling with returning it altogether and walking away - it’s a gorgeous bag, but there’s a sentimental tie to it that I just can’t ignore. I’m going to take your advice and think on it for a couple more days ✨

    Sorry you had these issues. I got mine back from repair almost exactly a month after bringing it to the boutique and will be sharing that soon. I haven't been able to use it all because I've been traveling but I'm still hopeful it'll be okay once I start wearing it out. Fingers crossed!

    Sorry this happened to you twice! As you may be aware, I’ve documented my experiences with sequins a few times now, it happens. I made a whole video based on horror stories from subscribers who purchased online to receive less than perfect goods. In my situation I had one Nano exchanged, one returned as there were no options to exchange and my Fuschia I decided to repair. I was more than happy with the repair but really annoyed I had to do it on a made to order bag.

      I went down a ‘Dayle’s Addiction rabbit hole’ last night finding and watching your sequin videos (I feel like I was starting to develop an Aussie accent 😂) - thanks for sharing all of your experiences! I’m trying to stay positive about my situation, but your video on your nano baguettes is totally my vibe right now 😔

    PS: My advice is to get the big one repaired. Why? You got it earlier than expected. The money was already gone. So what - if it's a few more weeks or even months? You'll get your dream bag in perfect condition. Don't give up on it.

      I completely agree, don’t give up on your purple baguette (big one), it’s so unique and there’s nothing else like it. I pre-ordered mine back in March 22 and it arrived in July 22 a day before my birthday. I can’t tell you how happy I am with this bag. I’m sorry you’ve had issues with both your pieces, but give it one more try.

    wow this is horrible. i’m sorry for you going through this frustration. first of all, with the price of these luxury bags, customer care issues shouldn’t be a problem & quality & inspection issues definitely need to be re-examined. it is a beautiful purple bag, but your husband & friend gave good advice & that’s what i would do too: return it & find something better when time is right.
    the fourth option is ludicrous if fendi suggested for a *brand new, just shipped* bag be sent for repairs. i’d be fuming. there’s too many signs that it’s not the right bag with this particular bag, material, texture combination. the feeling of unsettlement with the purchase is a big loss, i so empathize with you. my last lv bag purchase at the boutique was similar. i haven’t bought a bag from lv since. won’t say i won’t again..but i will when timing is right & right now with all the quality issues they’re having presently, i think i’ll wait even longer. i hope everything works out in your favor. 💚

      Thank you for the note 💜 I thought the same thing on them suggesting to send it for repair vs offering an exchange (I was like “wait, what?!”).
      So LV is having a lot of issues now too? I haven’t purchased from LV in a couple years (too many quality issues, shocker 😜), but it’s interesting that so many of these luxury brands are declining in terms of their quality…

    I totally understand your frustration and I would feel the exact same way. I imagine the nano was a return and maybe this is a moment to look at the navy one instead. For the larger one, I would be livid and you definitely deserve to have that bag in perfect condition to start with and add your own wear and tear to it. I would push until they got you that bag in perfect brand new condition. I hope they make it right.

      Right?! That was my first thought on the nano (well, maybe second 😜)…should have gone with the navy 🤦🏻‍♀️ I definitely have my fingers crossed on coming to a quick resolution on the larger one 🤞🏼

    Sequins are super delicate so I personally don’t think they are the best for bags. My advice would be to return both and put the money to another purple bag. So sorry you have to deal with poor customer service.

    I would return it and buy a non sequined bag. Sequins are delicate, it’s a problem waiting to happen. And Fendi comes out with such beautiful items, I would easily find something else, although elove purple!

    omg thank you for sharing. I just got back from the Fendi boutique and was about to buy this. I'm going back in tomorrow to double check it before i purchse it.
    also, your Fendi hardware is quite small compared to what I see online. Did they sell u a ... fake?? Ahhhh

      Are you talking about the hardware on the nano? That version was a previous generation where the hardware was much smaller vs the current version that is a lot larger.

    I just purchased the “last” of these fendi purple nano bag charms. My SA transferred it from another store and it just arrived in the mail. It has the exact same imperfections and missing beads in the exact same spots as yours. I definitely just received the one you returned😭🙈

      (OMG, stop, did you really?! 🤯) That is horrible…shame on Fendi for not fixing it and just putting it back in their inventory in horrible condition 🤦🏻‍♀️ What are going to do - keep it (and have it repaired) or return it?

      I’m going to return it. I was so disappointed and shocked that I got your exact one! My SA was really upset that they even allowed it to be available for purchase, after you had returned it because of its damage. I showed her your video and she said it’s definitely the same one. She said it should have never been available for sale after you returned it. I’m realizing the quality of these new bags are just not good. I just bought 2 vintage baguettes in almost new condition , 1 beaded and 1 sequin. And they quality is outstanding compared to the newer ones. It’s really sad

      I did notice the newer design of the nano in purple is FINALLY on the website…in case you were still thinking about it. And I totally agree - the quality on newer pieces just isn’t where it should be…not just with Fendi/it’s across a lot of luxury brands ☹️

    Anyone who does not have an emotional connection i.e. does not consider SITC iconic would return the sequin bags in a heartbeat, which is what I would do. However, you have a genuine love of this bag style so for you exchanging the full size bagette for another purple and the mini for the navy seems to make more sense. Hanging sequins and beads are so fragile though so imho, this wear and tear is inevitable eventually.

      VERY true (…but I want to be the one causing the wear and tear 😂). The emotional connection to the franchise is definitely making this more difficult 🤦🏻‍♀️

    RETURN RETURN RETURN BOTH is my suggestion. Sequins anything is not going to last for very long. It is easily damaged. If you can return the boutique one then I would. Or at the very least a credit for a future purchase. Good luck to you!!🙏🏼💕

    hello thank you for your video. I had the same problem on both fendi baguette (purple) too 😅 the first the sequins fell off and the second (following an exchange) was badly designed, with the beads not straight, and around the clasp there was a big space when the beads must have been all around. I made videos on my channel (in French). it's really frustrating because it's a beautiful bag that I liked so much. for my part, the customer service supported me well. such a pity that this bag is so fragile. kiss from paris

      ​@@simply_her_perspective I know someone who had the same problem. I also think that the yarn used is not well chosen. It is fragile and has some pilling even though it is new. I hope you will soon have a good solution that suits you. 💜

    I’m so sorry for your experience but I think if you’re really attached to it I would send it in for repair and it will come back perfect for you! I am waiting for my pre order purple baguette and hoping there won’t be any issues as this will be the most I’ve ever spent on a bag. I really hope the color doesn’t fade as I was hoping to get a lot of use out of it. Something with that proceeds should really be of the highest quality

    I have had 3 vintage Fendi items and have been less than thrilled with the quality of those as well. Very sad, because they’re beautiful but for the cost (even vintage) should result in higher quality!

    Hi! I am now waiting my third purple sequined baguette. First one I preordered had bent sequins, some of the sequins were hanging by a thin thread that was about to break ja one of the sequins beside the front closure was severely damaged. The sequins of the second one were literally falling off because the thread was loose. Hope the third one would be perfect but I seriously doubt that😢

    I agree with your hubs and friends. Return and cut your losses. You have your black sequined bag that is still in perfect condition, even after using it a few times already. The purple Fendi is giving out bad juju.

    You aren’t alone sister, I had the same issues with my fendi baguette. I ordered in February and it arrived in a broken box so packaging wasn’t the most luxurious then i could see the glue in the strap, and the zucca print stared to pilling off. I called customer service with no help other then to send them photos and I went to the store with no luck because they said I can’t exchange it in the store because I bought it online. Lastly I end up keeping the bag because I was afraid they were going to replace it with something worst and the ones I saw in the store had quality issues. My take for this is that I will not buy anything from fendi. Who has time for this drama at the higher cost of their bags 🙅🏼‍♀️

      No I was in love with that bag that I was afraid they were going to exchange it for a worst bag, crooked logo or something else. I regretted not returning it! Their customer service is the worst. I don’t even know if I have a warranty after 6 months

      That’s terrible ☹️ I’m sorry your Baguette was less than perfect/for these prices, that’s just unacceptable. I would have returned it, but I definitely understand not wanting to get something worse than what you originally received (that happened to me with LV and I haven’t purchased from them since). It’s definitely an expensive lesson to learn 🤦🏻‍♀️

    You deserve a “perfect” bag. I recently bought a sequin nano baguette and it is perfect. Don’t settle for sub par. There is a better bag out there for you! Sorry that you are experiencing this- you have every right to be frustrated.

      @@simply_her_perspective it is a beautiful bronze color. The tag says nano baguette maxi buckle Sex in the city. It has a bright fuchsia pink satin interior. I love it.

      Ahhhh, that’s the one I initially wanted to see when I went to the boutique, but they didn’t have it (and I saw the navy and purple instead). That interior is SOOO gorgeous 🩷🩷 Congrats 🤩

    I’m done with a brand when there’s poor quality, ridiculous price tag & bad customer service like Chanel for instance. I will never buy from them again. Mainly quality is enough to turn me off from a brand if consistently quality is an issue.

    So sad to hear all this... By the way: If you checked the website you will notice that they released the Nano in purple with the big FF buckle instead of the small one. I think that is what the lady meant when she said "new inventory".

      I saw it online and got so excited, but sadly, it’s not available on the US site 😔 I’m hoping that’s what she meant when she said that as well bc I wouldn’t mind the large FF hardware…we shall see (I’m just waiting at this point)

      @@simply_her_perspective I'd be surprised for it not to end up on the US site as well. It is a classic sequin Nano after all. And they want to make their bucks, so I think it's just a matter of time. They go away from the little buckle Nanos and move to the big buckle Nanos with all models (as far as I have seen).

    you don't wanna do it but... send them for repair
    the quality issues have been unbelievable with the sequined pieces this past few years (and that's just from Dayle's videos) but I really do believe it will bug you not having this particular bag in your collection and repairing it is your best bet in the long run

      @@simply_her_perspective yes, you love these pieces so much you pre ordered one and then bought the nano anyway, the fastest way is clearly getting an exchange but who's to say the one they sent you doesn't come with its own new problems? besides it arrived so early that you might as well part with it a few more weeks and just reframe your mindset to "it took a little longer".
      After all this is an ICONIC piece that will probably be difficult to find at a future date in the right conditions and without an inflated price tag

      I exchanged it (or rather, returned and then repurchased). Just be sure to check it THOROUGHLY before removing any of the tags 🕵🏻‍♀️✨

    Are you familiar with Dayle of Dayle’s Addiction? She is a huge Fendi lover and had a bad experience with her sequin bag. I’d suggest getting in touch with her to bounce ideas off of. If it were me, I think I’d skip it because I’d be so frustrated. I’m so sorry that this is happening to you. I had two LV Pochette Metis’ with glazing issues and I love the bag, but don’t want to deal with it anymore.

      TWO pochette metis bags with glazing issues?! That’s so frustrating…but I definitely get not wanting to deal with the quality issues. These brands sure don’t make it easy on us 🤦🏻‍♀️
