Great video! Thank you so much for sharing the prices your paid for the pieces and the amount you sold them to the reseller. I would add another tip to your video that reads, “ do not resale items at a price point that is less than 80% of the purchase/ retail price.”

I received 2 makeup bags as free GWP from Dior around 18-20 years ago and the larger one is still my regular makeup bag, the smaller one I keep in my car. They have a slimmer compartment for brushes and are washable. Best things ever. I do love my mini pochettes, the Rosalie and Recto Verso, both in leather as they have more give. I need nothing else and try to ignore all those pretty colours they bring all the SLGs out in!

That’s great to hear about your Dior makeup bags 😀 I didn’t even think to use one in the car - that’s a great idea!
I’m the same way - I try to ignore all of the fun colors, but every once and a while, I can’t resist 🫣

I nearly fell into the mini pochette hype, got a similar one from dress up your purse and I never use it. That was a much more economical way for me to learn that lesson 😂 I’m curious how long you waited in between FP submissions?

Wish I had taken a similar route in learning my lesson 😂🤦🏻‍♀️
It depends on the piece. Their quotes are good for 30 days, so after waiting a month, I’d go back onto their site and look at their inventory levels. If there were fewer of my item than when I originally submitted, I may submit right away; other times, if they had a lot in inventory, I’d wait a few weeks and then resubmit. Sometimes that worked and I’d get a little more in a new quote, and sometimes it would backfire and I’d get less, so it really depends on the piece.

Thanks for sharing such an interesting video. How long did you wait between submitting your items again? What does the Newman Marcus 10% credit do? Are taking store credit instead of cash?

It depends on the piece, but I’d generally keep an eye on their inventory levels before resubmitting - could be 1-2 months, other times it was closer to 3-6 months. Sometimes it worked in my favor and I’d get more (in the case of the LV Emilie wallet), but other times, it backfired (I still have it, but my Celine Micro Belt Bag - they offered me $1300 a few months ago and I just resubmitted for a quote last week and it was $1100 🤦🏻‍♀️).
When you accept an offer, you have the option of getting a 10% bonus if you select a Fashionphile or Neiman Marcus gift card. I generally opt for the NM gift card to then put towards another piece on my wishlist…that way I get a little more back for an item.

So fashionphile low balled you, then increased their offer? I’m considering selling quite a few pieces and was thinking of using fashionphile 🤔

It’s a bit of a waiting game and it depends on what you’re looking to sell, but yes. A LOT of people have commented on their low buy out offers, so if you’re not in a hurry to part with something and you’re able to monitor their inventory levels a bit, you can sometimes wait them out and get a little more for an item if you submit multiple times. Is it a pain, yes, but it can be worth it.
