Consider leaving some advice on how to better use this weapon in case it is a weapon you main, every tip and trick on how to become a better hunter is greatly appreciated :D
You can do focus attacks mid air to reach for wounds higher up on the monster. After launching yourself via charge attack, last hit of perfect rush combo, etc.. while in mid-air, focus aim and focus attack the wound. side note: Make use of gyro controls. If you are using a controller and the game requires you to aim for things, this will be a game changer is every single game you play, Try to land as much attacks from the end of combos. alot's of Sword and Shieldss last hit have high motion values (strong dmg). Learn most if not all the combo paths SnS has. There is many diverging combo options and each one can be better in different situations. Learn how to do backhops to cancel your attacks and do instant backhops on command. This is the original foresight slash. Backhops help dodge attacks with it's lengthy s and helps counter attack the monster, to keep up the damage better than just rolling. You can use items and drink potions while your weapon is drawn by holding guard and the item use button. To shoot flashbombs while your weapon out: Hold the focus aim and press R3 (press the right analog down). Use gyro for an easier time. Do draw attacks (or advancing slash) towards a ledge to do a special ledge attack. You can also draw attack below and towards the ledge and it will do and upward aerial attack. This helps rack alot of mount damage and makes ledges less bothersome.
I had no idea you could focus strike mid-air with anything other than the Insect glaive I'm not the best with gyro controls but I'll give it a try So each combo path has it's own purpose in the hunt, got it, also I hadn't noticed that the last hit had high motion values Great to know I don't need to sheath to use items Had no idea that mechanic of shooting while unsheathed was still a thing, does it work on every weapon? or just SNS? Didn't know about the special ledge attacks, do you know of any other weapons that might also have special interactions with ledges? also thank you very much for all of the SNS advice
