Do a 100% chrome delete. Black inserts in the grille. Black wheels. Smoked headlights and taillights
I already sold the truck but that’s the first thing the new owner did to it lol I’m not much of a chrome fan in the first place, I was just giving it a try to see how it’d look

Yea looks good. I too am trying to color match my bumpers I have same truck. Mine is black perl and I badged took off all crome handles grill head lights tail lights running boards everything. Sitting on 20×10s -24 offset 33 inch venom power at with 1.5 spacers. 2.5 inch level kit. The whole tru k is murdered out exept for the bumpers it's killing me. Over 20 grand into this truck and tired of spending money but it needs done

@@9NailzGarageso instead of painting front crime I bought the plastic sport bumper that fits right over the old one. Looks better and paint won’t chip. My rear bumper has chipped since and I’m about to just buy a stock black one for $240 on American trucks

Yo!!!! I NEED to know where you got that grille and insert setup. Please! I’m doing the 06-08 grille on my 03 and every grille I’ve found was chrome and I don’t wanna go they the hassle of dechroming it. Anyways, great work bud! You have a new subscriber!!!

How did you get the color to match so well? I just did some fender flares I paint matched but it's off just a bit
How does the bumper cover mount to the original bumper?

Do any front bumper covers fit Over the chrome factory slt bumper?
No problem, glad to help! Yes they will fit over the chrome SLT bumper. If it’s a Laramie cover with the chrome insert you may need to drill some holes to make the clips on the back of the insert fit. Also you will need to drill two holes on the rear of the chrome bumper and place a nut clip on it, you’ll see what I mean when you do it. Good luck with your project!
@@9NailzGarage what about the lower lip? Will the one on my chrome one fit on the sport cover or would I need to buy too?
@@bernardorodriguez7871 no it doesn’t fit, there’s a special one for the sport/Laramie bumper, last time I looked it up it was around $200 so I just left it, looks fine without it.
Believe it or not, if you take the lower plastic trim of the slt bumper, flip it upside down, massage it with a heat gun, you can get it to fit up against the Laramie bumper. I added one to the bottom of my 06 dually and a set of challenger splitter guards just for laughs.

Sure does, you’ll need to drill two holes in the back side of the chrome bumper by the tires you’ll see what I mean when you do it. Otherwise it fits great once adjusted.
see im just cheap and ripped the chrome wrap off my grill and used plasti dip to paint it

Not digging chrome grille inserts, you just need to paint mirror caps and handles white as well
How well did the grill fit? Did it hold up well?
Grill fit perfectly, held up great for the few months I owned it

The plastic pad comes off then the new cover goes over the entire chrome bar

What grit paper you using on your pad sander
I used a bunch of different types, for the filler I started with 80 then 120 then 220, then 400, then paint. Very important not to skip steps. Here’s a few things from Amazon that I used.

I love how your generation refers to a floppy piece of plastic as "a bumper"
Kinda like a paddle shifter is a manual transmission.
No son.
A bumper is steel.
Usually chrome.
And you can use it to push things, open gates, pull your friends out of the mud ect.
And by the way , a manual transmission has a clutch pedal.
