- In this video I reviewed the Hynade 165 amp gasless flux core mig welder. If you would like to purchase one of these welders here is a link to their Amazon site. amzn.to/3OyyBma They also make a gas and gasless version and here is a link to that model amzn.to/3vacjQ2
If you have any questions please leave them in the comments section and I will answer you promptly. Thanks! - Хобби
If you would like to purchase one of these welders here is a link to their Amazon store amzn.to/3OyyBma
They also make this welder that is both gas and flux core MiG. Here is a link to that welder.amzn.to/3vacjQ2. Here is also a link to purchase flux core wire if you need some.amzn.to/3OzB1Bi
In the future, can this be converted for with-gas operation, like the mtg175d? Outwardly, they seem to be the same machine.
Hi Joel! Funny you should ask. I had the same idea since I had a 110v gas solenoid laying around and I thought I could just wire that into the activation of the wire feed. I took the whole housing apart and when I got in there, the Mig gun receptacle at the front of the feed housing wasn’t drilled through so I would have to disassemble the whole thing and machine the housing so I could put a barb in for the gas hose. At that point I gave up since I already have a couple of Mig welders in the shop. I believe it could be done, but it was more work than I was willing to put into it. 😁👍
Excellent and very helpful explanation. I love the sweet dog! 🐕❤️ She’s beautiful.
Thank you! 🙏😊
I noticed you were pushing the weld. Remember: if there is slag, you drag.
Where's the welding mask for the dog! 😂 Thanks for the great review. I have the smaller version in my cart and you pushed me over the edge!
Thank you! She’s been trained to never look directly at the arc. 😁👍
Awesome video! Thank you
Thank you Frank! I’m glad you liked it!😊👍
Very good information sir.
Thank you Gerard! 🙏😊
Thanks for the prompt reply. I don't know what I am going to do right now other than send the welder back. Probably keep the harbor freight welder and just keep practicing my welding until I get comfortable with the welds. I had an experienced welder get me started and his advice was to keep practicing and play with the speed and heat. The welding he had me do was on high heat and 3 to 3 1/2 speed and the welds looked good. I have other projects that have thicker metal and by the book require speeds up to 9. I tried that and the welds looked terrible. I guess it just takes more time and practice. thanks again. regards, John
Ok, that sounds like a good plan. Let me know if I can help in any way.😊
I purchased the Hynade MTG175SG, and turned out to be a very good inexpensive little welded. I haven't used it with Mig Shielding Gas and not sure I ever will. But as for using it with Mig/Flux wire and also the stick weld it works very well both methods. For the extra few dollars more I jumped up one category just incase I ever decide to purchase a Mig tank to use .30 solid wire. I do suspect I will someday get a Tig -Torch and a tank and also try Tig.
I think you made a great choice Alek! I’m glad you went one step up. 😊👍
Hello Alek. I noticed you mentioned that you purchased the Hynade MTG175SG. I’m wanting to pick up a welder for building minibike and gokart frames. I originally was going to get the Hynade Mig140D. But like you, I figured I spend a little extra and have more options. Do you think it would be suitable for what I’m needing it for? When using the fluxcore wire, how do the welds look? Is there a lot of splatter? Thank you for your time.
@@DJ_CAZZARELLI Easy to clean with a grinder but if you want you can get antisplatter spray or canola oil spray.
Nice! I had never heard of the canola oil spray trick. Thanks!😊👍
@@PranaTech Smokey but better than the othe product (is poison). It smell like McDonalds fries. I know people that use Canola oil more than 20 years...

Beautiful dog! Very informative video! If you buy the Tig attachment with the external gas hose would this welder be able to weld aluminum? Thanks.
Hi Eddie! Thank you for the nice comments! Unfortunately it wouldn’t be able to weld aluminum.☹️ You would need a Tig that can weld AC/DC because you need to weld aluminum with AC current. Hynade has a great Aluminum capable Tig and I did a review of it recently. Here is a link ruclips.net/video/ZKgegnE6IZk/видео.html. Yeswelder has a great Tig also and it is on sale right now for a great price. Here is a link. ruclips.net/video/ZKgegnE6IZk/видео.html
Hope this helps! 😊👍Don
@@PranaTech thank you for your quick response and for the information. PS the second link is also to the Hynade.
Can the Hynade Mig Welder, Mig Welding Machine Dual Voltage 110/220V Gas/Gasless Tig Stick Mig Welders MTG155D (FS) use gas? Seen a review on Amazon that said it doesn’t without some modifications
Great video. I was sold after watching. I picked up the 175 version. It has more welding options and gas as well. Have your looked at that version. It does gas as well.
Thanks
Hi Steve, yes the 175 is a great option with gas also. I think you’ll enjoy welding with it.😊👍

Can you please make a review about the Hynade MTG175SG PLEASE THANK YOU
Hi there, I only do these reviews when a company wants me to review their product. I also recently started a welding business and don’t have the time anymore for these reviews and all my projects that I want to build and make videos about. The Hynade welders are good welders and are all of similar quality. I’m sure you would be happy with the 175 mig.😁👍
I contacted you when I ordered the 140 instead of the 165 amp welder. You gave it a good rating with just a lower amp setting. It came, I set it up. the wire would feed to get the right stick out, but would not feed fast enough when I was welding. It would burn the wire off and quit, I tightened the tension, then loosened the feeder, but the same thing happened. So I boxed it up and sent it back. I waited a week for my refund, and I checked the reviews on other writeups. the 140 was rated in the top 5 welders for beginners. So I ordered another one, it came today. The same problem, only now this one will not feed at all. I had to hand feed the wire all the way to the tip. Still no feed. the trouble shooting chatr said a faulty weld button. It looks like I am going to box this one up also and send it back. What is your opinion on this.
Hi John! Well that is certainly a pain to have to deal with and certainly doesn’t bode well for quality control. I have only had the one that I reviewed to play with so I don’t have a lot of long term experience with their mig welders. The Yeswelder 205DS is a great welder and even though it does cost more, it has been a long term high quality performer for me. I don’t do flux core welding very often in my business because of the poor appearance of the welds and I prefer Mig welding with gas because it is so much nicer. I have taught a bunch of people over the years how to weld and I always teach them with gas mig welding because they are successful very quickly and their confidence is built up. They then can build projects that they can be proud of and will last a lifetime. Flux core welding can be very frustrating for a beginner and if you have never welded before, can cause a rapid loss of motivation to do any further welding. I’m sorry for your trouble with having to deal with this and hope this info helps. Let me know if I can be of any other assistance for you. 😊👍Don
I noticed there’s quite a bit of space inside where the spool goes, will it hold a larger spool? Also, is there a way to adjust the speed and keep the volts the same?
I don’t think so on either question. If it were me, I would buy the next model up that has the shielding gas option. This one is pretty limited. 😊👍
I have a harbor Freight 125 wt. welder and have a hard time matching speed with heat. I hit the link to amazon and ordered a welder. After watching your video again I noticed that I stupidly ordered the 140d model. How much difference is ther in the 140D and the 165 SG that you show in the video. I don't do a lot of welding , some repairs for the atvs and the motorcycles that I own. Will the 140D do well for a beginner and light welding. thanx in advance for any help you can give me with this issue.
Hi John, yes that welder should work great for what you want to do. I haven’t tried that model out but from what I can see from the features, it is just a lower amperage model than the one I reviewed. It is very simple to setup and weld with. You just set the amperage to match the thickness of steel you are welding and that’s it. Very simple to use. 😊👍
Your review looks like the gas capable version (can tell from the torch + gun; also per your link). Did you check the back of the case? How big a spool can you fit?
From what I could tell, it only accepts the small rolls. I looked it all over and even took the case off to see if I could hook up a solenoid to the gun relay and convert it to gas and the front drive housing isn’t machined to accept a gas line so it would have been a lot of work. ☹️
@@PranaTech weird, maybe prototype? The gas capable on amazon looks identical to yours, the gasless is different
Yeah, you might be right.👍
Great video! What was your settings for 1/8 inch? I have the MTS155 FX
Hi Bill, sorry for the delay in responding. I was sick for a week and got behind on my comment answers. For 1/8” and thinner I usually use the old rule of one amp for every thousandth of an inch. 1/8” = 125 thousandths so I use 125 amps. Above 1/8” thickness I use the following settings. 3/16”-135-145amps, 1/4”-160-170amps Hope this helps! 👍😊
Do you know the difference between the MTS155 vs MTG155?
@@shermdog6969 I believe the MTG155 also excepts gas and comes with hose.
How do I slow wire speed down as soon as I hit the trigger it feeds out to fast want stop.and I'm trying to weld thin metal I trun it to 100 still to hot 🔥
Hi Mickey, welding thin metal with MiG is very difficult. I just do pulses with the trigger so they are basically spot welds layered one onto the next. This is the only method with MiG that I have had any luck with.
Were you able to use this at 140 amps using a 110 outlet? I am debating adding a 220 outlet vs my existing 20 amp outlet w/ 20 amp breaker. Thanks!
Hi Evan! Yes, on a 20 amp outlet I was able to do 140 amps. 15 amp breaker was good to 128-130 but would pop right away on 140amps. 😁👍
@@PranaTech Awesome, thanks!
No problem at all. 😁👍
will it hold a 2 lb spool? will it kick the breaker on 110 welding at higher amps?thanks.
Yes it will accept 2lb spools. On a 20amp 110 breaker, I could weld up to 138-140 amps without popping the breaker. I didn’t weld with a 15 amp breaker so I don’t know how high you could go with that. 😁👍
thank's
How long can you weld with it before it shuts off to cool down.
Hi Mickey, I don’t know. I gave this one to my brother in-law. I would buy the next one up that can do flux and gas welding. 😊👍
Can this do both DCEN and DCEP?
No, it only has capability for DCEN. 👍
Hello I bought this machine after seeing you showing how it runs and does food off of Amazon I need the company's number this machines no longer working for me I have two other machines I've tried I've got a good ground they run they weld when I put this one on all it does is come on in a fan comes on the lights light up but there's no work at the vending machine and it's grounded on the same ground that I use on the other two welding machines that work
Hi Mickey. Sorry to hear about your trouble with the welder. I don’t have any phone number for them. They usually contact me through Instagram and they are usually active on there daily. If you purchased the welder through Amazon, I would contact them through Amazon and see if you can return it. 👍
anything special about the extension cord you used, cause I saw a youtuber say not to use extension cord?
Hi Hidehiko! There was nothing special about it at all. As long as you don’t exceed the amperage draw limit of the extension cord, it will not be a problem at all. This cord is rated for 20 amps which is the max that the outlet it is plugged into can handle. Hope this helps!😊👍
@@PranaTech thank you very much
You are very welcome! 👍😊
How can it be called a MIG welder? Flux core and MIG aren't one and the same. Am i misunderstanding something?
Very true Chris! That is why they have changed the name to FCAW and GMAW for the two different processes now. But no one searches RUclips for those names so we all just call it MIG welding.😁👍
This is a flux core welder. The term MIG is Metal Inert Gas. Since this welder doesn't have the ability to use gas, calling it a MIG welder is inaccurate. Some people would use the term MAG when using gas if the gas contained CO2 because it is reactive.
The wire feed mechanism on this is the same as my Mastercraft welder and it’s junk. Very inconsistent speed
I might think about throwing an affiliate link in the description mah dude.
Hi Tad, yes I have an email in to them to get me a link because I can’t find the actual unit on Amazon right now.🤣👍
@@PranaTech Ok, Glad you're doing good. Still working with air-crete and thin shell concrete up here.
Awesome! How’s the homestead coming along?
Awesome! How’s the homestead coming along?
@@PranaTech Slowly but surely. Got sidetracked putting in some greenhouses, but still working on it.
Ordered a Hynade, then canceled that item and ordered this exact model because of the removable/longer mig gun, then next day canceled again and ordered the MTG175SG. I'm going to throw my Chinese garbage Hitbox stick/Tig welder right out the door into the garbage bin. Hope the Hynade don't disappoint..
How did yours work out for you?
@@samyish Really well, I like it a lot. As mentioned I purchased the MTG175SG. I also purchased a decent ground cause the ones all welders come with are garbage. I had 220V hooked up in my garage so that's the only way I use my welder. It's also is a great stick welder, It comes with a decent electrode holder, but I previously had a better one so put it on this welder also. I also purchased Forney 42300 wire for future use, reviews are positive but have to finish the roll of flux core the welder came with. Yea it's a good welder, more than enough welder for any of my endeavors. I previously bought a Hitbox, threw it in the garbage can, couldn't bring myself to even give it away it was such a POS. This is the ground I got, it's a dandy improvement. I threw that piece of metal it comes with to support the cable and used a ziptie and also black tape. Don't you care about the dog getting arc eye?
Hi Mark, yes I do care. I don’t generally weld with my dog around but I had to weld on my gate and had no idea she was going to walk up on the scene. She is fine and is a wonderful member of our family. Thank you for your concern.😊👍
You said gassless fluxcore only... then u hold up a stick whip and say this machine will also do stick and lift tig. That's why I hate watching reviews. That greenhorns do because they don't know what the hell they're talking about.
Hi Derek! Sorry for the confusion my friend. I meant strictly the Mig welding function is flux core only on this welder. Thanks for the comment about being a greenhorn! After 35 years as a welder, that one made me chuckle! Peace to you my brother!😊👍
DUDE THE ARC WILL DAMAGE YOUR DOGS EYES JUST LIKE IT WILL YOURS!!
That weld looked horrible
Thanks Nelson! I appreciate your opinion and wholeheartedly agree. I am no fan of flux core welding and have a hard time making decent welds with it. My Tig welds and regular Mig welds look professional but flux core - - - no good! 🤣👍
I don’t know much about welding (never welded, but am learning online), but I thought they say you should drag your welding tip if you are Flux core welding. If you got slag you drag, right? This might be why the weld didn’t look good. To me it looked like you were pushing the welding tip across the weld like you would do with Tig or Mig welding. 🤔
Could be Bernardo! I’ll try it next time I use flux core.😁👍
