@@ImpressionWorks1 having played the Original 06 recently I honestly fail to see what the big hoo ha was with it, it just kinda was? Ultimately it was so minuscule and isn't acknowledged after it happens. I was led to believe it was something worse than a footnote in the Last Story tbh.
We now basically have the whole game remastered for PC. Just need boss battles, the Last Episode, town missions, Soleanna, Team Attack Amigo, and more, and it will be complete! Sonic '06 was the first Sonic game I've ever played, and seeing it remade like this is amazing!
Boss Battles is probably the hardest, but outside of that we're pretty dang close to having everything!
@@sonicovertime unfortunately that's true. But I think chaosX can do it and make these boss battles fun while adding new attacks and such. It's crazy to think sonics story released 2 almost 3 years ago. I can't wait to see this improve and thanks for this amazing video btw

Yup! One thing I would love to see added, though, is Metal Sonic as a bonus character as per the original plans; whom I think could be a very cool reward for enough S-Ranks or Silver Medals collected.
It's insane to think P-06 takes over 2 hours to beat when you know it like the back of your hand. Sonic's campaign has the least amount of changes, but still are some. I really like how the character's head moves to look at enemies. Tropical Jungle has a new unique vibe going on with the colored leaves. Random detail but I noticed Elise's eyes changed to something more realistic.
Shadow's Campaign has much more. Shadow's Ground kick is much more mobile, new skating animations look amazing and Omega's claw attack from Heroes! And Silver is completely new and indeed awesome. ;p

I've noticed a few things. In Sonic's Crisis City, he said "Jump", but there's no lorry and when he reached to Goal Ring, the fire tornado disappeared instead of exploding. In the Silver stages with my favourite female Sonic character, Blaze in them, I'm very happy of what her gameplay style's like. The only downside is, I've noticed her eyelids are dark purple like her blouse instead of being lavender like the rest of her head. So, I think her eyelids need to be fixed.
The introduction of cutscenes leading into some of the levels truly shows the amount of care going into this game. Reminds me of S3&K.

I love P-06 so much as I get to go back to the Adventure formula in a new way. Easily my favorite formula to date and I would even play the original 06 over and over back in the day,

If it wasn't for the unacceptably long and frequent loading screens and the stupid town missions Sonic 06 would have been a decent game. The actual main levels are pretty fun for the most part and I never really minded the cheesy story (although Elise does get kidnapped too many times).

Imagine if we lived in a world where sonic 06 was as good as P06 with a better story and everything. That would mean sonic boom would never happen and that means sonic forces won't happen and that means the franchise wouldn't have been a punching bag for so many years...

The story is still pretty messed up indeed but the remake still corrected most of the problems in the vanilla game

I can forgive a convoluted story and sub-par voice acting if the gameplay is good. Vanilla 06 is not good. This, however, is a masterpiece.
While some parts of Shadow and Silvers story sound good on paper the execution leaves a lot to be desired. We can all simply agree that sonic's story is the worst of the bunch with its repetitiveness, and that one sonic x episode where sonic helps some kid in a wheel chair was what they were trying to go for (no forced romance either). But you still have bad pacing, tonal shifts, plot holes, time paradox, bad mocap, awkward dialogue, filler, misuse of characters (knuckles for example), most scenes don't even have music so its really hard to care or feel anything. and of course the characters faces hardly or don't emote at all, they're like giant puppet heads and it makes it look so odd. there's no fixing this as a whole but having simple short in game cutscenes like the silver tropical jungle or kingdom valley is the next best thing. Really helps the arcade like feel that sega's used to be known for.
It's just a story lol. Besides Silver, Sonic and Shadow had badass moments since their intros.😂
I like the thumbnail, Sliver looks surprised, Sonic cautious, and Shad looks cool as ever.

Been saying this since the Shadow update, could you imagine what would happen if Sega allowed Chaosx to fully work on the entire game with a nice budget and they just released it on all platforms.
Because to be honest 06 could've been the greatest Sonic game possibly better than SA1&2 and this remaster proves it.
I don’t know why but I can still see it happening. SEGA allowing this to be playable on actual console hardware. A dream!
If they do, that be awesome! ..(careful a little grain of salt.) However, I not sure their company are having conservative of their schedule with proper development ever since they released Frontiers… idk there’s must be a way to have a great trade with such ideal potentials for the project (XChaos’s), not just for the ‘money’. (Sure back when their company was having technical issues and financial issues(?) )
It’s to give what ppl wanting to enjoy games; their storylines, the graphics, game mechanics, knowledge the tutorial a bit, the characters with interesting each perks, their interactions, their decent dialogues and most of all, the closure must never rush with the bad cliffhanger. (I guess, it depends what developers deal with the ending. Included, the writings must never go blandness. )
When it comes to bad reviews (those who were noticing there’s some bugging or something-not-right feeling) that’s fine. They’re giving the extra details to make it shine and revisions, as long it’s not too overstate things. Hahah
But when it comes to toxic reviews, … well I’ll thinking they just badmouthing anything that doesn’t make sense at all. Afterall, the P-06 is fixation version from the unfinished, original game. Some ppl were giving incredible reviews and I don’t see the problem why it’s SO ‘bad’…😅 (screw them, I betting they get their eyes check real quick or they don’t know much about games ooor… something else that beyond my assumptions. )

This is absolutely gorgeous Silver and Blaze racing though flame core with Silver flying and Blaze spinning really gives me the same feeling I have when playing Sonic Heroes. Multiple characters need to return in Sonic. I don’t care what anyone says they’ve been a staple since Sonic 2 not just the 3D games
Just noticed that they brought back Omega's three-strike combo (two wide punches and a turning burst of cannon fire) from _Sonic Heroes,_ which was a change I was really hoping for! Brilliant to see that make it in. 🙂

This project is such an inspiration and monument to Sonic fans everywhere. If ChaosX ever decides to upgrade everything: levels, bosses, cutscenes, even the open world spaces, I’d love to see you play through the entire story modes.
I have been waiting for this version, and now I'm expecting the TRUE complete version to exceed this.
And one thing I've noticed is that the 06 Sonic characters will actually turn their heads and look at enemies when close to them during gameplay.
That's a nice little attention to detail right there.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if Chaos X eventually makes it so that ally characters can fight alongside player characters, like what Shadow 05 and Rise of Lyrics had but WAY better, with their move sets.
And make some characters just not appear until it's safe to spawn. Sometimes these ally characters spawn near a hole or something and die. Also make some characters disappear until it's there turn since in crisis city silver says "Blaze!" All excited even though blaze was following him the entire time. Other than that this update is amazing
That looking at enemies thing was in SA1 too. Good to see it return.
0:57 I like the little detail of Sonic looking at the enemies as he's about to attack him
honestly amazing the amount of passion they've poured into this. The side characters are practically unrecognizable, funny how only a few additions gives them as much gameplay variety as the main cast. Something about seeing Amy have ACTUAL momentum to her moveset is just absolutely cathartic to me on account of how ridiculously sluggish she was in the base game. Speaking of which does anyone know if the developers have potential plans of adding completely new content once all of 06 is ported? by that I mean campaigns for each amigo character, or maybe even custom levels? Seeing as how much effort they've put into just recreating the base game, it would be a welcome addition, but only time will tell. Regardless, a job well done
For custom levels, we do have the modding scene.
Silver looks WAAAAY more fun to play in P-06.

Y’know videos like these make me appreciate that it doesn’t always need to be a speed run to be so fluid because the gameplay just looks so smooth. Amazing video!
2:17:18 this might be the indication that the next update will feature all the bosses, including the last episode stage and boss. And who knows, we finally get to the open world, town missions and so much more. If those are also be included, then this game could be fully complete
I hope the hub worlds get the Frontiers treatment. Like a full map accessible from the pause menu (I think SADX had this as well), setting waypoints, and even fast travel.

The new storm effects really add to the bleakness of Silver’s future
Sigil Of Awakening, is almost similar to Archie Sliver, when he tapped Into his potential, in order to fight Enerjak.
Really need a Sliver game man, he's very underrated.
Now the only things missing are the cutscenes, hub areas in Soleanna, Boss fights, silver medals, and town missions. (I guess Very Hard mode, boss rush and team attack amigo as well) Also I cannot wait to see what end of the world is gonna be like. It's actually gonna look scary with those Iblis and Mephiles portals

Also the multiplayer mode
So much 3D movement and parkour, yet it also has multi-hit enemies and combat that flows well with the gameplay. The Sonic games should’ve continued like this imo. Like this is pretty much everything I’ve wanted out of a 3D Sonic. It even has Adventure type movement and the SA2 scoring system, and _many_ playable characters, including the best playable version of Shadow. It’s insane that this remake is fan made.

@@skeetermania3202 You get style points for doing stuff like going through rainbow rings and other tricks, plus the main thing, enemy chains where the more enemies you take out before touching the ground, the bigger score bonus you get when you do. That’s where the ‘Perfect 2000’ thing comes from in SA2. It incentivises flow and low-key ads depth to what little combat there is. Mindlessly mashing to beat enemies becomes ‘how long can I keep this combo chain going?’. It’s in Heroes too.
Huge respect to chaos x bro he single handedly and i mean that he literally recreated the entirety of sonic 06 for pc in about 4 years with much better physics and graphics. This is what it should have been. And props to you playing through it again!

Silver The Hedgehog has been a long time fav of mine in the series, and I remember how disappointed I was when the og release did him so dirty on his debut as a character. ChaosX and the team has done so much outstanding work for this game and the fandom. I almost wanna say SEGA should hire these guys and release this as an official remaster. But this is SEGA we're talking about

Absolutely stunning
One of the things I'm always excited for whenever a new update for this project comes out is seeing all of the minor tweaks and additions to the game's visuals, models, and animations. I don't know why but there's just something about the little opening cutscenes in some of Silver's levels that just adds some magic and breathes life into a game that originally felt so stiff and unrefined. It would take a lot of work, but if they actually decide to reanimate the rest of the in-game cutscenes down the road I'll be super excited, because the work they've done up to this point is incredible for such a small team.
I really like the camaraderie between Team Sonic in Aquatic Base, makes me wish the three were together for more levels.
This game ,despite its many mistakes, has always been a sonic adventure 3 to me and always will be. Now that it's being remade into a better version its definitely reminded me why it was my favorite.
everything just looks so damn good and refreshed i'm stunned, this is what our childhood was supposed to be and look like when playing this

Seeing the super forms with the words “See you next time” gave me more shock and bliss than seeing Minecraft Steve being added to Smash Bros
I write this having watched the vid up to 10:30, and it already looks like everything the original game should have been. The game looks so streamlined, and most importantly, you actually GO FAST playing as Sonic, the FASTEST THING ALIVE.

I just have a hope deep inside that there will be a day when SEGA will admire this incredible work of Chaos X and actually will buy this work/hire him as they did with Sonic Mania developers. I would love to play P-06 on PS5 if they will release it as they did with Sonic Colors Ultimate. Maybe I am really naïve thinking like that but I really love 06 and I wanna finally see how people will admire it through P-06.

The use of unused dialogues of the original game is a great detail 😄, specially for new cutcenes like 3:03 or 10:32

I like the parts where they show a bit of cinematic intro cutscenes when they start a stage and it was very cool

I’m so happy they changed the running animation for sonic and shadow I hated how stiff their animations were in the original game when they run and silver actually flying. Also the small details such as them looking at the enemies they approach and them keening when they turn.

Holy crap everyone looks like they are a joy to play as (especially sonic, shadow and silver)
If there's one thing I love is the very small things I like is the heat wave effect in crisis city in shadows and slivers section which is the second part of the stage and even flame core has that heat wave effect too and slivers Crisis city is pretty awesome how they made crisis city at night and in flame core they added floating rocks near the volcano in flame core that's pretty awesome

What Sonic Adventure 3 should’ve been.
I consider myself a contrarian when it comes to the opinions of most Sonic fans. It's my viewpoint that most of these fan projects shouldn't be taken with much more than a grain of salt. That being said, this is one of the rare examples where an independent developer truly did turn bronze into gold. This is the direction that Sega should be looking in for inspiration. Not poorly ripping off Breath Of The Wild. Well done ChaosX.🤘

Truly one of the best Sonic games I’ve ever played. This has replaced the original for me; even if they finish here and don’t do the boss battles or town stuff. It’s so damned good it’s insane.

Im a huge fan of this project, he's done a great job. So many small details most people wont even notice. With Sonic, i would change his top speed, or at least his animation in the regular sections. He puts his hands behind him when he hits floor boosts and immediately loses it. If him running at the speed he does when he gets a shoe is too uncontrollable, id change his running animation to at least make it seem better. I cant help but feel like the snowboarding section in White Acropolis would be better as a speed section.
I would love if the speed sections were all a bit longer. Also I've always hated the way radical train just ends with the train at a dead stop. I used to use the white gem in the original just because it gave sonic three tricks when homing attacking, but in this update, I wish that were a standard, and the white gem should be something like the light attack that attacks 3 enemies in a row or something. Can't tell if the boost on the blue gem does damage or not, but, it should, like the newer sonic game boost. The "S" ranks need to be updated. 80,000 is easy on most of these levels it looks like. It could be 100,000 for a good challenge. I still hate the escort missions with Elise, but, I don't think that can change. The blue gem seems useless still, the green gem should have a big range. Just some of my thoughts at the end of sonics section. 36:29 also, the side characters should be playable after you complete the story in all levels, I think. Not sure how that would work though. Maybe have to cut out speed/boarding sections? Idk. But, they need more screen time.
With shadow, I can definitely see the need for increased rail speed. Each spin on a rail should make them faster and faster. It looks like it basically just maintains speed right now. Shadow is done really well in this update so it's hard to find anything else to change. But I do wish he had maybe just a few upgrades like gems to find. One for him, one for his two partners maybe. Something that Rouge can use to make her have something like a double jump to increase her height while gliding might be cool. For shadow, I wish he had a boost like the blue gem, or maybe something like chaos control from shadow the hedgehog. Just scaled down.

But now so many people prefer the style of the models from Unleashed and onwards because of how cartoony they look.
The 06 style was intended to be a mix of cartoony yet realistic but too many negative nancies just had to spam so much hate for them to.

At the time the only thing I remember being a nuisance with this game was the load screen and a few bugs which is understandable. Years later on the internet I'm seeing that alot of people didnt like this game. They're the reason for this modern sonic. 😒
What's the acoustic cover of "His World" that's being used for the Mission Clear screens? I've never heard that one before, is it an unreleased version or someone's cover?
Also gotta say, it's not just the overhaul of gameplay that's really making this project shine; it's the little details and extra additions, like pre-level cutscenes or facial animations, or even just the addition of cut lines. It's really breathing a whole new life into this game and further proving that Sonic 06 wasn't just an un-nuanced opinion of "game bad", it was lost potential. And Chaos X is now giving that potential back.

The best part about this is that if you know the story you get to realize what is actually going on, something that was close to impossible to follow in the original because you were so focused on the bad controls and overall jankiness. I hope the camera gets fixed more and the overworld is added (just with less bullshit side missions)

How is it that you’re able to instantly reach the ground from a couple of feet off the ground yet break comfortably into a run? I see this same technique in SA2 runs.
