😎 I remember buying this album as a kid, ran over to my best friends house and we just sat there listening to the album over and over. I'm 34 now and still hang out with that same friend listening to this album and still the same feeling as the first time.
Man, it’s amazing how great of musicians and vocalist you were way back then. Then you top that off with a huge hit with Finger Eleven. Salutations bros!
I freaking hate being older, HATE IT....but ....I wouldn't change my teenaged years for anything. I would never want to be a teenager now. These songs make me smile so much. We had some great music to go with those great memories.
So last week, for no reason at all, the chorus to this song surfaces in my mind. "Walkin' around in your circles, circles...." And I almost go nuts trying to remember the rest of the song, never mind the band. Tonight, I find "Toy Train" by Rymes With Orange, and there's "Rainbow Butt Monkeys - Circles ( finger eleven )" in the Suggestions column. "No way," I think. "Could it be...?" And it is. This is the happiest I've been for days. Thank you.
@@cwrichardson3 They do now and I'm happy and thankful for it. They weren't at the time I wrote my comment though. I know for sure as I had seen them multiple times around that time frame and not once did they play it. The one show in Port Colborne we were even shouting/chanting "circles" to try to get them to play it.
This is a great song to listen to with headphones on.🎧 I enjoy it when both guitars have their own individual parts in a song, instead of just playing the same riff in unison.
I ordered the tape off of Columbia House Records when I was a kid. Listened to it so much the tape snapped. Found it on CD and still have the CD. Love every song on the album and still tell friends.
GREAT SHOW last night in Elliot.... ty for coming to this hick town and putting on one of the best shows ive ever seen, and i ve seen a lot of shows.. ur 3rd behind guess who and Michael Bublé of my all time fav concerts!! shoulda played this last night!!!
smokinryno I was at many of the Yellow Sub shows. I think I saw Shallow there the first time. Probably Gleet (Sianspheric) . Every friday night was spent watching the Spencer Smith Shows. In the days before the internet, the guitarist from Trunk (Headcheese? Huh that was along time ago) was active in the Burlington BBS scene,. We used BBSs to learn about shows. Good times.
Got so giddy when someone reacted to Paralyzer just now, I suggested he check out Circles. I loved your Finger Eleven days but the groove on this album kickstarted it all for me
Max FM in Orillia is playing this and all the other great songs from the 90's on. Regularly! (as much as they can get with a no-repeat 9-5, so once a day or so) it's so awesome. You have evolved so much but i wish you would all get back to your roots with your music. The first few albums were stellar, harder, faster, stronger. As a fan i miss hearing you guys get heavy on new tracks 💖💖💖💖
This was my favorite band when I was like 10. Wrote them a fan letter and one of the guitarists (James?) wrote back! Super nice letter, I actually got it framed, don't have it anymore sadly..... 🌈(‿ˠ‿)🐒 🇨🇦
I just got an invite on FB for them playing at Riverfest in my hometown Brockville in July!!! I couldn't fucking believe it!!! They are the band of my youth!!! The highlight of the 90's!!!
Everybody says they are from Burlington, but I know that most if not all went to Waterdown District High School with my brother. I even met Scott when he was still working at the Cango? gas station on Guelph Line and Derry Road. Great band love their stuff!
It always blows my mind how people think a band that has been together since what, '89, can continue to keep up the songs with sick and twisted lyrics. People grow up and grow out of that stage, including musicians. Hell, even Blue October is a lot less deranged now than they were in their previous albums.
i seen finger eleven in ottawa with ozzy. i've always liked the band and moreso after seeing them live. not sure what his name is but the lead guitar guy kicks ass live...what a fuckin' awesome show he puts on
Well i'll keep my identity secret because this is not my real name, but James Black once signed a very personal CD for me and called me a geek on it. Maybe he remembers that or maybe he calls everyone geeks. It was a Letters From Chutney album. Someone with a first name starting with L gave it to me. It was a pleasure to watch these guys careers right from the beginning. The muchmusic Tree Toss was exciting to look forward to for me when it was these boys doing it. What a spectacle!!!! I showed up to nearly every Edgefest, but never did get the chance to go backstage and meet the band, one of my life regrets. I was too shy and James was too big of a superstar to 17 year old me that I declined an invitation to his house for supper from a friend of a friend, there's another one. One thing I did get to attend was the Juno's in Hamilton where they were nominated for, i want to say, best new group or breakthrough group I guess. I guess I'm one of the OG fans. Still am! Hope everything is going well for you boys and there is great things on the horizon! I am really into the writing of this band, I feel they are writer's writers nowadays. A little like Eminem I would say. I put them on when I am trying to be creative.
Symbolistic white walls mathew good band was my fav single from them but their all good songs and they have enough to do 2 greatest hits packages now.Its a shame they didn't get airplay in the States, greenday never even heard of them at the much music vid awards hehe.
Hey you guys use to play with a band fron St.Catherines, called Bad Habbit then they changed to Slang. The guitar player is my brother.Travis Ranger. He has nothing but great things to say about ya.
I saw the Rainbow Butt Monkeys play a free all-ages show at a club called "The Hideaway" in St. Catharines (at the corner of Grantham and Linwell) in 1994 I think it was. Wow. That's going back.
Saw these guys on citadel hill in halifax. Mid 90s. Had never heard of them. Changed everything. Bon Jovi was there. These guys solidified how much bon jovi sucked. Also my parents hated this set, so i knew i had found a good band to follow
not anytime soon, there isn't enough of a following there to merit a finger eleven tour now if a bigger more well known band to Australia were the headliners then it would be more plausible
Seriously if you think a song like "Paralyzer" was "selling out" rather than experimental epiphany then you're not paying much attention. It's got disco influences in it for god sakes! It's not my favorite F11 tune (that would probably be between One Thing, Sacrifice, Quicksand, Whatever Doesn't Kill Me, and Thousand Mile Wish to name a few...) but it's anything but a sell out. If you like their old sound then listen to their old stuff rather than wasting time bashing the new.
good stuff! saw them live in south fl over a year ago. right about when the new disk was to come out. they rocked and hinder sucked! well i went to see finger 11 anyway. got to get my ticket signed by some of the band and rambled on with scott about the weather or something? nice guys! i hope to see them headline a show. should have seen them last summer in lancaster pa. oh well anyway i like the rbm stuff besides the name and i hope they put that stuff out again. -neil
Its funny you say that! I grew up in Waterdown and these guys would play the Kirkhouse Hotel on Tues (cheap draft and scrap night) and played Chili covers! Huge influence on Scott and the boys☺
I loved letters from Chutney. IMO it owned finger11 in the face with repeated face palms. Funk metal? Thats just genius and they threw it all away. I was sad
Does anyone know what types of Effects Pedals James Black mainly used on TIP and around this generation? Mainly what types of distortion pedals are what I'm curious to know?
Very cool... funky AND aggressive... SERIOUSLY, this is friggin COOL, if they stuck to this formula and the hard stuff they did later on, they'd be, like, the best band in modern music today! And then the poprock formula happened... >:O
Why does everyone think that when a band musical style evolves they are "selling out"? It's not like they went mainstream. Nobody else is making music music quite like they are. It's funky (Livin' in a Dream) and heartfelt (Whatever Doesn't Kill Me). I've been a fan since "Grayest of Blue Skies," and while I like that album start to finish, it lacked the true standout tracks their riskier experimentation of recent years has lead to.
haha yeah I love that movie I remember going to see it at the theatre then the party scene in the hotel comes on and I'm like wholly fuck its the butt monkeys haha.. I have it on dvd maybe I'll rip that scene to put up here :)
😎
I remember buying this album as a kid, ran over to my best friends house and we just sat there listening to the album over and over.
I'm 34 now and still hang out with that same friend listening to this album and still the same feeling as the first time.
Yeah LikeWise
hopefully things don't ever change too much, enjoy
Happy to hear that you still have the same friend after all these years. Goes to show your friend is a true friend. Never let that go.
You’re one of the rare people on earth who gets to experience something for the first time again and again.
Man, it’s amazing how great of musicians and vocalist you were way back then. Then you top that off with a huge hit with Finger Eleven. Salutations bros!
Long live MuchMusic. Classic stuff. Along with Age Of Electric, Tea Party, The Odds etc...
Don’t forget the band “Rusty”! Much music kicked ass!!
Much Music sucks now.
They're playing it at their shows again and I couldn't be happier, they're still even doing it justice after all these years! :)
I freaking hate being older, HATE IT....but ....I wouldn't change my teenaged years for anything. I would never want to be a teenager now. These songs make me smile so much. We had some great music to go with those great memories.

Love that song Toy Train too!
I was prepared to see soul coughing here
You guys seriously need to play this song at your shows. Don't forget your roots!
They do
@@cwrichardson3 They do now and I'm happy and thankful for it. They weren't at the time I wrote my comment though. Before MuchMusic is the shitfest it is now they played awesome music from awesome bands like these
much music is crap today
MuchMusic in the mid 90's was incredible.
Music was better before the 2000s
Much died in 2017. I miss how it was when I watched it.
Here for this.
This is a great song to listen to with headphones on.🎧 I enjoy it when both guitars have their own individual parts in a song, instead of just playing the same riff in unison.
I remember being a F11 show front row and I yelled play circles , james goes it’s next !!!
I ordered the tape off of Columbia House Records when I was a kid. Listened to it so much the tape snapped. Found it on CD and still have the CD. Love every song on the album and still tell friends.
This brings me back to the days of playing at Manhattan Rocks.
Rob you stepped on my new cymbal, don't deny it.
GREAT SHOW last night in Elliot.... ty for coming to this hick town and putting on one of the best shows ive ever seen, and i ve seen a lot of shows.. ur 3rd behind guess who and Michael Bublé of my all time fav concerts!! shoulda played this last night!!!
Brings me back to 1995 wow! Good Times
Use to see these guys play for free at Spencer smith park back in the day!! also Yellow Sub W TRUNK And GYM CLASS JOKE... the good old days
smokinryno I was at many of the Yellow Sub shows. Good times.
This banger is somewhere between Chilli Peppers and Faith No More, sprinkled with some awesome!
Got so giddy when someone reacted to Paralyzer just now, I suggested he check out Circles. I loved your Finger Eleven days but the groove on this album kickstarted it all for me
I remember them playing an event a friend used to put on in Hamilton. They borrowed a mixer of mine and I did their sound. I still have the mixer too.
Max FM in Orillia is playing this and all the other great songs from the 90's on. Regularly! (as much as they can get with a no-repeat 9-5, so once a day or so) it's so awesome. I still have the cd in my collection, and saw you guys live in Halifax, in support of this album, opening up for Bon Jovi.
Letters From Chutney was a favourite album of mine back in the day. Saw them open for Kim Mitchell at the Exhibition in Ottawa in '96?!
Remember when they played this live They blew me away!!! Amigos Hamilton 😍💥❤️
This was my favorite band when I was like 10. Wrote them a fan letter and one of the guitarists (James?) wrote back! Super nice letter, I actually got it framed, don't have it anymore sadly.....

🇨🇦
97.7 htz FM... Rock search winners... Southern Ontario has created some of the best bands and music in the world...
I bought this album when it came out.. Was disappointed when they changed to Finger Eleven. This vid is sooooo 90's. Love it.
still my favorite song ~ i remember getting chutney from a friend on cassette; and seeing the video on muchmusic.
Such a great song !
I just got an invite on FB for them playing at Riverfest in my hometown Brockville in July!!! I couldn't fucking believe it!!! They are the band of my youth!!! The highlight of the 90's!!!
This stuff was way ahead of it's time!!..One of my top 5 fav's!!
not really, this kind of music was quite popular in the 90s, they weren't really a unique band, but a really good band.
Met Rymes with Orange, hung out with the bassist after the show... Super laid back and down to earth...
This was the first album I ever bought.
Consistently Random 🤘
Everybody says they are from Burlington, but I know that most if not all went to Waterdown District High School with my brother.
I even met Scott when he was still working at the Cango? gas station on Guelph Line and Derry Road.
Great band love their stuff!
I saw them in college as RBM in 1995, great band then and even better now.
This should have been on Beavis and Butthead; they would have had so much fun with the band's name.
KRhetor thought the exact same thing 👍
It was on beavis and butthead. Not sure what episode tho. That's where i know this song from.
@@bustercherry8734 I'd love to see it! It was always a thrill to see Canadian bands on the show.
Dude we’re in Canada
The guitar for this track is on fire! love it.
I`ve had that problem before trying to look for a forgotten hit in the 90s named "Circles"
It always blows my mind how people think a band that has been together since what, '89, can continue to keep up the songs with sick and twisted lyrics. People grow up and grow out of that stage, including musicians. Hell, even Blue October is a lot less deranged now than they were in their previous albums.
Got into Finger Eleven's music a few years back, this is a great song which I've been looking for for ages. Cheers!
saw them at a 97.7 chtz anniversery festival in hamilton ont never even heard them blew evryone else that day off the stage
Funny RUclips Tutorial song band
(This song bangs hard)
This Got Somes cool funky Red Hot chili peppers Vibes all over
OMG IT BREAKS MY HEART THAT THIS SONG IS NOT ON ITUNES! I HATE YOU FOR WRITING AN AWESOME SONG AND NOT PUTTING IT ON ITUNES!
i seen finger eleven in ottawa with ozzy. i've always liked the band and moreso after seeing them live. not sure what his name is but the lead guitar guy kicks ass live...what a fuckin' awesome show he puts on
@TheDamned999 still listen to the 2 Glueleg albums regularly. awesome records

Scott transferred to waterdown senior year but he still lived in Burlington
it made it to like #13
and it's fucking awesome!
Your song jumped into my head today randomly . Still killer 😎
Saw RBM at Barrymore's in the mid 90's and it was so good!
1:46 Grandma?!
2:32 - 2:35 that ni99as havin a seizure
Hey you guys use to play with a band fron St.Catherines, called Bad Habbit then they changed to Slang. The guitar player is my brother.Travis Ranger. He has nothing but great things to say about ya.
They actually still play this song on the radio, haha legitttt
I saw the Rainbow Butt Monkeys play a free all-ages show at a club called "The Hideaway" in St. Catharines (at the corner of Grantham and Linwell) in 1994 I think it was.
Wow. That's going back.
Are you guys going to be touring Australia again soon as i'd love to see you playing live your music rocks
Love it all, Greyest of Blue Skies got me through some rough points
Saw these guys on citadel hill in halifax. Mid 90s. Had never heard of them. Changed everything. Bon Jovi was there. These guys solidified how much bon jovi sucked. Also my parents hated this set, so i knew i had found a good band to follow
Wearing VANS before they were cool.....
The intro sounded so RATM!
not anytime soon, there isn't enough of a following there to merit a finger eleven tour now if a bigger more well known band to Australia were the headliners then it would be more plausible
This music was way better than how they sound now.
Love the name, it reminds me of my drug days.

If you don’t like seeing Quagmire turn into a toilet don’t listen to the song.
Who knew Seth Rogen could sing!
Ahhh Toronto rock at its best. I bet you the director for this video did a video for 'The Odds'
you can stil recognise this as f11 music if you compare the chorus to songs from the album tip
Well I should hope after almost 14 years knowing the guys and being their #1 fan I would retain a couple useless facts lol
good stuff! saw them live in south fl over a year ago. right about when the new disk was to come out. they rocked and hinder sucked! well i went to see finger 11 anyway. got to get my ticket signed by some of the band and rambled on with scott about the weather or something? nice guys! i hope to see them headline a show. should have seen them last summer in lancaster pa. oh well anyway i like the rbm stuff besides the name and i hope they put that stuff out again. -neil
I remember when this came out. I was in JH. I never forgot this song. Was disappointed they changed their name too. But then again I was 14.
If Red Hot Chili Peppers heard this I bet they'd like it
Id always liked rhcp.. Why? Because... there completely unique.
Its funny you say that! I grew up in Waterdown and these guys would play the Kirkhouse Hotel on Tues (cheap draft and scrap night) and played Chili covers! Huge influence on Scott and the boys☺
I bet they have.
Well..that would be cool...i think it's a really cool scene ^^ This movie is awesome =)
Since Finger 11 doesnt do this song anymore.....someone like Howard Jones former Killswitch Engage vocalist should do a cover of it.
1995 was a ballzin year #1yearoldboy
I loved letters from Chutney. IMO it owned finger11 in the face with repeated face palms. Funk metal? Thats just genius and they threw it all away. I was sad
If I had a time machine I would go to the band stand at Spencer Smith. simpler times
Member when Much used to play music?
Does anyone know what types of Effects Pedals James Black mainly used on TIP and around this generation? Mainly what types of distortion pedals are what I'm curious to know?
They did release it in Canada. I've never actually saw the CD before though.
Been sooo long since I heard this song!!
Very cool... funky AND aggressive... SERIOUSLY, this is friggin COOL, if they stuck to this formula and the hard stuff they did later on, they'd be, like, the best band in modern music today! And then the poprock formula happened... >:O
they should re do this song and put it on their next album
Who else got introduced to this band/song from Beavis and Butthead?
I remember this music video being one of the many they railed on!
This is my 29th favorite song!
3 and a half years ago they were on tour with evanescense down under
I remember seeing their name on a marquee in Collingwood back in the day. Funny name.
this song fuckin rocks. They rocked then and they're still rockin now, a little different style but still kickin ass.
Ah, this was way before they became known as the Quagmire Toilet Band.
nice heavy chorus!
Scott got laser eye surgery doesn't need glasses anymore
yes they have toured in europe and australia and mexico
would you say that to the band ?
LOVE this song!
31 people are walking around in their squares
Technicolor ass marmosets should totally tour with these guys.

yeah it is a great record... hard rock funky songs :)
I love it since i heard it in this film called "National Lampoon - Senior's trip" xD
i like how ya used the word "edgy" .... very nice ;)
Awesome song. :)
haha yeah I love that movie I remember going to see it at the theatre then the party scene in the hotel comes on and I'm like wholly fuck its the butt monkeys haha.. I have it on dvd maybe I'll rip that scene to put up here :)
