Need for Speed: The Run is a racing video game, the 18th title in the Need for Speed franchise, and developed by EA Black Box and published by Electronic Arts. The 3DS version is being developed by Firebrand Games, the team behind Undercover and Nitro (both DS versions). It was released in North America on November 15, 2011 and will be released on November 18, 2011 in Europe.
The game is described as "An illicit, high-stakes race across the country. The only way to get your life back is to be the first from San Francisco to New York. No speed limits. No rules. No allies. All you have are your driving skills and sheer determination"

Hats off to the devs.
Really outstanding game, the handling felt right, not realistic but how driving in your mind (movie style) should be. The OST? both the score and the actual track list was great. Really glad I played it when multiplayer was still going.
And the game wasnt even finished
These graphics still stand out in 2023. Good job Black Box.
They needed to bring stuff like this back in Rivals. Maybe a The Run 2 someday with more dangerous stuff like this?

I went through this stage twice and it ain't for the faint hearted, the mortars and avalanches give this one an injection of danger and fear, I stay in a zone when I do this, Awesome.
This is still the best and most intense race in gaming history.
Best NFS game ever. (This is waaay better than a NFS movie)
I recommend Motorstorm Apocalypse then! Basically all of the races are like this but way more intense.
This. I'm FROM Colorado, and knowing I was going into an active avalanching zone was fucking terrifying. This is the only part of the game I was actively screaming at my TV the entire time AND the only sprint I finished the first time I tried it. One of the most cinematic gaming moments for me.
The best action sequence I've ever seen in a racing game. They should've showed the other car getting crushed by the avalanche right before you go in the tunnel though.

traffic cars? well that can't be done, they blocked the road so they traffic aren't allowed to drive the road

Man, this stage has so much going for it! Jack has a truckload of balls, for keeping pushing, even when other drivers back off. Watch the ‘Ahead of Opponent’ absolutely skyrocket around 3:43 and tell me that ain’t because the Audi driver called it off.

@@AquDrIFT It might just be the opponent AI hitting headfirst into a giant rock, the numbers slowed down when the player was about to reach the final tunnel, meaning it recovered from the collision
It might just be a chance occurance, not scripted or anything

Movie action should be the standard for Racing games with Story, i find it really crap when the only thing you do in the Story Mode of the new NFS is just "Do 3 Laps At This Circuit"

why the hell is throwing fire balls ?
To be honest i didnt really enjoy the game or the ones i before (i didnt play mw2012 because it was a pure cashgrab and i stopped at 2014 because my pc is on life support) what i really didnt enjoy was the drifting, mostly as soon as you try to drift the car becomes really slow and will probably oversteer and second the sounds were to much laggy (well for me) from times the music is here and then boom it is the car sounds only and same in the beginning of a race, and the ai was a bit hard so i was obligated to play it in easy difficulty. But i hope it gets a The Run 2 with more stuff like independence pass
