I really need a sequel, I played this game when my aunt bought me a special edition (I still have the disc and everything), and man, one of the best memories when I took turns with my brother to finish it, a pity it ended up mostly ignored, I'm still waiting for "NFS The Next Run" or something like that, hopefully someday EA will retake this wonderful game concept, and finally give us something more "old school" style where the car tuning was just another part of the game and the story had a relevant role, not now that most games try to imitate Forza.

@@kevingame3198 well technically. They re-coded the engine to work. As the engine they used was primarily a FPS engine. So they spent most of making the game, recoding the game engine to this specific kind of game
Bro these rival races on Extreme+ are such incredible fun to watch. I never expected the AI Rivals to be this skilled, they blow any other modern NFS boss race in the series out of the water.... Sad to see NFS the Run go, but at least it died having been appreciated and no longer being as despised as it once was. RIP NFS The Run, you were pretty good.
I honestly think the upped difficulty just makes it so that they rubber band to you a lot harder (if you’re ahead of them). I say this because ISAD seemed to win basically all of these races by using a full nitrous tank at the final straight.
when you look at people who have experience playing this kind of game you realize that when you played it, especially if you were young, it's not that you were bad, it's just that sometimes the AI was actually that "strong" xd
Gotta love how after all that badass driving, you stil get cutscened by Marcus, and then having to deal with old trains turned bullet trains lol. I love this game man, awesome run. I really hope we get to see a spin-off someday

And then, right before he hits New Jersey, he runs into some random dude in a mild-looking Boss 302? Think about the caliber of driver it takes to drag THAT thing all the way up past _all of the above._ Eddie's skills are obvious with context. Alternatively, that Stang is one hell of a sleeper. Just what did he do to that thing?
Hopefully the development team of blackbox can make another company to make even more great games, who knows they could probably get woth codemasters and slightly mad studios. And slighty mad studios are the same people who made motorstorm
They already did, it’s called “Ivory Tower”. And no, most of them have retired or even went elsewhere around EA & other studios after the closure of Black Box. I doubt it would happen. Even the new Skate still has thier team, but not as many like before.
Thank you so much for this playthrough, after beating this game for the first time I always had a dream of improving it to show its potential, and this is pretty much the realization of that. It also made me to go back into the game to remember some of the quirks I discovered years ago and to keep enjoying it. Thank you!!
Markus was seen driving his signature Tier 6 One-77 throughout the campaign, in Stage 2, 4 & Stage 7 in the original game but in the final race, it became a stock Tier 5 One-77. I think Blackbox either initially made a Tier 4->5->6 progression throughout the campaign, or planned for a Tier 5/6 campaign, but they never had the time to do it.
Because it is supposed to be, he was seen driving the modified one throughout the campaign. For some reasons only the final race it became a stock One-77. Probably something to do with the T5/T6 campaign being cut.

It was scripted, you can see Mila, Calvin, DeLeon was beaten in chapter 3,5 and 6 yet they race again in chapter 9 and 10. Its more like they doing it by using 'backdoor' system designed to kick Jack from race permanently and of course Markus is the one who ordered them to eliminate him from race.
If you pay attention to the "elimination race: get to top xx" notifications throughout the game, the only rival who actually got eliminated is Mila's friend, Nikki. So, how they got ahead of Jack again aside, there are no other problems.
That's sad how they clearly opened for a 2nd game but never did it and probably will never anyways. And with how is EA nowadays I'd rather not have it.
I mentioned on one of your other videos of tier 6 cars. But doing the whole game with Tier 1 cars only. With Tier 1 timers as well. I know it sounds stupid, but it will sure in fact make the game longer than it seems.
The Run came out during my senior year of high school, I didn't play it as much because Skyrim, MW3, and Driver: San Francisco were taking up most of my limited free time.
Think I'm about to re-install this beautiful piece of NFS. Last time I've stopped about 60% into getting gold on every single event and not having tried the extreme for the campaign. Absolutely loved the solid, weighted feel of the physics with a nod towards the NFS 2000. The only thing that spoiled the playthrough on a modern system was some kind of a timescale/physics bug where the car would sometimes loose all the acceleration and engine power on the straights or hill climbs.
Easy: If you are either in first time on racing game or feeling normal is too hard Normal: Default setup(Very Average) Hard: If you are either pro on racing game or feeling that Normal is too easy Extream: If you wanna prove you are one of best drivers Extream Plus: *If you feels even Extream level was too easy*
I remember this guy's driving skill when I'm using my laptop keyboard as an arrow to move left, right, reverse and brake. But need to be more careful or you may hit the wall if not at good timing. Ahh, miss nfs

You really can tell that the AI is programmed not to allow you to win until the last second. One sec it's going 400 kmph and in the last few meters before the finish line it struggles to pass the 200 kmh barrier 😂

Absolutely hated going against that One-77 even on *NORMAL* difficulty because it's so fast. Thankfully the Extreme Difficulty evens things out a bit.
