Robby when you guy's get done with bombi and Matt gets it you should take a big box the same size as bombi and put bombi the cat in it lol I think it would be a funny joke
Curious why you didn't use hem weld to adhere the roof to the new roof cross members? Wouldn't that get rid of the "tin canning"?
Try toolbox latches for those door handle replacement 👍
Rv,s have same kind of handles on RVs and horse trailers with living quarters
For ages 2 - 6 not 🚫 35 ... 🤕
Your dedication to your craft is amazing - staging that fake Power Wheels skit and hitting yourself in the face with a battery - risking a second injury - all to cover up the true story that Demri hit you in the face with a hammer. Truly amazing, well done sir. 😂
We do what we can
That was clever , we didn't fall for it . Cover that thing up to keep grinding metal out of it , or we call you rust face .
😂
Adopting the cat convinced me to subscribe. Every shop should have a cat.
The worst thing about that injury is deciding whether to tell the doctor what really happened or not
Always tell the Doc the truth , so he can properly fix you
My friends wife is an E.R. nurse. Trust me, this isn't even close to the dumbest thing doctors have seen.
Yeah, the story would have been a lot more heroic if the crew didn't have it on video... 😁
Ya, when i was younger my brother was pulling me around on a blanket in my grandparents house (where the couches are old and made of actual wood) and he pulled me face first into the corner of the couch and my teeth ripped through my cheek, ended up with 13 stitches inside and out of my mouth😂.... my poor mom having to explain that to the doctor😅
I am a surgeon! Tell the true story. Most doctors like to laugh and we are quite adept at recognizing lies, because we hear so many!😂 and there are way worse stories, for example things stuck in natural orifices, where they have absolutely no business to be. If something like that happens to you, fess up. It’s the only way to regain at least some remnant of your dignity.
Love that you adopted a shop cat! 👍can’t wait to see more of Bombi!
Now he's going to have to extend his deadlines because shop kitties need their petting time.
So cool you adopted the cat; speaks volumes about the kind of person you are...........from another cat lover🙃
For the latch, I believe you want a “flush mount paddle handle latch with interior safety release” - that Google search returns a bunch of latches that look like they’d work.
Like on motorhome
The latch he want’s are actually really hard to find unless you know someone lol
This is correct. There are stainless ones on Amazon that match the size too
Enclosed Trailer Accessories... Higher quality ones than RV ones. We probably have 10 to 15 cases here at work. If I get a chance to get into the stockroom today I will post a part number.
Even a cattle trailer
I have a new level of respect for Layton Auto Body for taking in that shop kitty!
I also love how the editor repeatedly kept showing the accident over and over from every angle 😂😂
I wonder how much the fact, that it's his brother, cutting the videos, ads to the effect...
they showed it twice from one angle and once from a second angle…
So cool to watch the parts we built get finished. You're the best Robby!
Hi Tom, I really enjoy what you do as well. Really appreciate what you bring to MOOR as well as your own channel.
Out of all of the predictions, i dont think anyone thought, "Battery to the face". Im glad it wasn't worse.
You had me a kitty! Keep Bombi. I like the little black spot on its nose.
Please make sure to secure that battery so your kids don't get it in their faces!👌🏼👌🏼
i was literally thinking the same im sure he fabbed a bracket system up knowing people would see that
"What did you do?" "No, what didn't he do?" Well, he didn't tied the battery there...
Great recommendation!!! I’m sure he was planning on leaving it so it happens to his kids next!
I’m sure that has hit a few kids.
@@annaplojharova1400As I recall, they have a history of not securing batteries. I seem to remember a video of 'Fred' being "tested"...on a hill...and the battery shorting out to the hood. 🤔.
Bad habits can be hard to break. 🤷🏻♂️
LaBombi is a cute shop cat! TY for you being kind.
The first thing you need to do with the shop kitty is take it to the vet!
And get it fixed too.
!!!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!! The Cat Distribution System, has given you a Kittie !!
Thank you for adopting the little kitten. Speaks loudly about your big heart! ❤️
The great shop cats of Automotive You Tube! Derek has Motor the Shop Lion, Paul has Socks, the Digs' have a number of them, and now we have Bombi!
Poor wiskers never gets its petting before its needed 😢❤
Next time you have to avoid warping use a few wet rags. Set them a few inches either side of the weld, and use another to quench and cool down the weld you just did. Also, yay for shop kitty! He seems very sweet, definitely not feral.
Colton is really getting good on camera , enjoy watching all of the staff really seem to all be good real folks
I was thinking that too. Now he have to come up with his own words.
Man I am a huge cat and dog lover. It never hurts to have shop kitties. They keep the mice away. Not to mention the moral support they bring. To me, nothing more precious than kitties.
Great episode. Sorry you got hurt, Robby, but even in pain you're hilarious. And thanks for adopting Bombi.
brilliant you got your own Bombi cat! love it
Bombi the Cat is a sign that you should donate the Van with food and toys to a local animal shelter or rescue 😊
Thanks guys for sharing! Always fun to watch! Take care! Eddie
I'm only at 1:18 but I had to pause. Robby. I'm sorry for laughing at your pain. But thank you. I needed that today.
Very nice shop cat!!!!!!!
The TriMark 030-0250 paddle latch with interior release lever is specified for off-road vehicle use.
You guys teach us so much, sometimes even how NOT to do things!!!
Good job guys, thanks
Often*
I'm with robby, once you love a cat there's no going back! Shop cats are the best!
That kitty will keep your shop rodent free in exchange for room and board--Can't beat that !!!!
Can't forget that the kitty is also paid in attention and petting.
You bet , with those 2 kids !!@@Skorpychan
Cats are great at catching scorpions too.
Did not know that !!@@mh_vegas
You can try a RV entry door latch it has weather stripping and looks similar. It is also lockable.
The handles should be available at one of these. READING Truck beds, Knaphyde beds, fleet supply, Truck Pro, possibly Northern Hydraulics(Hardware). Or ask Matt where he got the one for the back door they made
I wonder if paddle handles would work... but the mechanism is newer.
Elkhart Indiana is RV capital, and they look like what they use on the doors of most RVs..
Yeah those are RV/trailer latches. Should be easy to get from your local camper rv store.
Hauled many trailer out of there.@@ronsue1000
Good on you for adopting the little kitty cat. He's a sweet little guy.
Subscribed!
Robby, you are a softy! Glad you are adopting the kitty kat.❤😊
love that bombi cat. youre a legend dude :D
Good save Robbie. The battery came out unscathed. Bad news is when you get old, stuff happening like that becomes routine. 😢 Sad but true. Just ask my left pointy finger what a kerf is. HE KNOWS.
Having a shop cat is great, they keep out all the little critters and rats! So tell Paul he needs to watch out ;)
Love watching you guys work and demonstrating your talents. Adopting Bombi cat is the right thing to do. They become great pals.
Aww the shop kitty is so cute 🥰 Thank you giving her/him a home ❤
The worst injury s often times have the latest story's, I once got a black eye from a tape measure.
And it's official Layton auto body is a professional shop now they have a shop cat.
Every shop needs a shop cat.
That BLACK Mustang in the background looks awsome!
You should call the cat Stitches...In honor of the stitches.
Hope you all enjoy the new Shop Lion. It will become a good friend and keep the shop free of critters. Seems quite a few of the channels are getting new stray Cats lately. You all have good hearts.
Knapheide rear door latch is a start to look for your door handles.
When welding the top of the bombi you should of had a bucket with cool water and a rag to be able to cool the welds down right after doing them that would have helped so much with the warping issues and allowed you do more welding before having to stop
Door latches look like "slam latches" on a RV storage doors. Look into RV parts & see if something close fits.
I was gonna say Adeleys' newest joke was sooooo good that it put you in stitches!
Every shop needs a cat and/or a dog. It is a great idea
Love the '66 Stang on the lift ! (tires/rims are temps I hope) Hate how easy and effortless you make pro body work look ! =))) Enjoy and Best wishes in '24 ~!!~
Just remember Robby, “Pain is temporary, Chicks dig scars” advice I have lived by my whole life!
I would have called Matt before reattaching those vertical pieces. I don't remember during the build at MORR if those have any use any more. If they do, you likely need what ever they are being used for connected to make sure they are in the right place before welding them in place. Bombi is your new rodent control officer.
I’m not laughing at your pain I am laughing just not at your pain, that was hilarious😂
On the handles , check with your local RV dealership or supplier they are called paddle handles. Hope this helps!
I honestly think we all learned something from it though everyone make sure you take a tie down strap and bolt it on both sides of the battery tight. Since a lot of us will be buying our kids power wheels for christmas
These power wheels come with a battery strap. If you manage to lose it, they sell replacements.
I love that no matter how old men get, we still do stupid stuff like this. Thankfully it wasn't worse. Heal up dude! You guys are "Good people". It's so nice to see that there are still so many great people in this world.
It’s great to see the work on the Bambi. And that cute cat is amazing ❤
Totally agree. PS it’s the Bombi, not Bambi. Otherwise great comment! 👍🏻
Huge respect for fessing up about being human. Cheers. ~ulrich
Honestly, Robby. Hillbilly isn't the only one who finds it amusing 😅😅
Bombi the Cat! ❤ Love it!
Good job Colton for keeping the camera rolling and on the action! Too many people end up pointing the camera at the ground and not at the subject.
LaBombi is a cute shop cat! TY for you being kind.. LaBombi is a cute shop cat! TY for you being kind..
As a cat mom of over 16 cats over time, all adopted, thank you for saving Bobbi, and making a shop cat out of her!
At one point, my ex fiance had 16 young cats, some with special needs at the same time in our apartment before I left her. She was replacing me lol
I guess it will be useful in keeping the mice out.
who is bobbi
@@warrenmichael918 auto corrected from Bombi.
@@barbaramcclung5460 I figured that was it but i couldnt let the opportunity pass lol
There's lots of feral cats around here, I always assumed once our shop was finished we'd wind up with a shop cat.
While working on perlins the wife spotted some kittens crawling out of the neighbors wood pile.
5 kittens unburied later..... we rehomed 3 and kept 2 (named em maple and willow.)
Someone needs to create a 9 stich scar applique for Robbie's fan base so this is never forgotten..just a thought thrown out there😊...
I didn't know that Lincoln was talking. He is so adorable.
I'm kinda disappointed that we didn't get to hear hillybilly say SOMEBODY!!! when Robbie suplex himself 😂 yall are awesome
Does your face hurt? ... because it's killing me! 😂😂😂 my wife's dad's joke! Never gets old!
OMG... 😂 Very brave of you to show us the video of the big wheel kicking your butt.
You've needed a shop mascot for a long time! The kitty will be a great addition to the team!
Wow! Robby! I'm sure that stung. I'm sorry that happened. I hope you fully recover with a very minor scar. All the best.
Awesome video! Be careful when reverting to being a kid, Robby. Accidents do happen!
I absolutely enjoy what you are doing on the snowcat 😊 Thanks for sharing!
Dude. That battery would hurt, especially with that much momentum.
You definitely need a shop cat. The train maintenance shop in Eley, NV has a fantastic shop cat. Nice work Colton.
Ok when you want to minimize warping you skip weld. So take the whole piece then skip weld it 1” here then skip 12-16” and do another inch so just keep working around the piece. You can use air but I also use a bucket of cool water and an old rag. Dip the rag ring it out and place on weld not a single layer either wadded up or folded up so it’s many layers. Also when you grind it out don’t sit in one place grinding. Usually on something similar to the bombi roof I would run my grinder around 2’ at a time meaning long strokes at a medium speed to keep from heating up the steel. Hope this helps. Oh yeah I am a 4G unlimited certified for mig wire welding.
We bought some of those door latches like the Bombi has at Northern Equipment, but it was about 8 years ago. They were used to repair the doors in my 1987 Cushman Truckster.
IN THE UK we would call that assault and battery lol.
Robby and crew is hilarious, keeps it so fun to watch.. Robby and crew is hilarious, keeps it so fun to watch..
Glad it wasn’t worse bud
Robby and Paul are now the same channel with doner cars and cats. I couldn't be happier. Is an orange jeep in your future? A bronco in Pauls?
The first episode I ever watched was during the paint work on the Banana and I really appreciated your skill and knowledge that clearly many years of hard collision work taught you. I humbly offer the following: These episodes really were about the job at hand. As a fabricator, builder, Business owner and fixer in my own right I gotta say with all due respect, this channel's content has gone the way of many many others: after some success and financial momentum, the talented work details slowly get replaced with skits, antics and what I consider as material unrelated to the talent that I believe actually created the success. I heard Paul once humbly speaking rhetorically about his RUclips success and how he "had no idea that people were interested in us" very specific in his word choice there. This may read hard yet I mean no offense but it's the Truth: I was never interested in Paul or Robby or anyone else on any other channel specifically, I was interested in the imagination, talent and work. There's a big difference. I realize my view/ critique is probably in the minority and I also know all things evolve and have a lifespan however, my interest is to continue to learn something new as long as I'm capable. I have a family and a successful contracting business, I'll be 60 years old in a few days and I just pulled a 4spd out of an old hobby car on Jack stands yesterday, for the sake of doing it, by myself. That being said I don't see this kind of content migration with Merlin or Derek. Merlin is close to my age, talented and clearly is not about Merlin. Derek is hilarious at times but he never diverts from the work and is clearly focused.
I think It's easy for me to take this view given my age and it's kinda bullshit that a post is essentially a safe one sided conversation so I must also offer that I suspect if I had a channel and was young there's no telling what that content would morph into being a " class clown" kind of guy myself.
Just my 2 cents
Enjoy all of your success, whatever that is or how it is attained! And if one day you find that success wanes, ask yourself is the on camera content liked by you, or is it only for likes, if not maybe return to the roots of your beginning.
Hi Robbie Simon from UK. Heat the steel tack on both ends as it cools it removes all the ripples and strengthens the roof. This technique is used on large vehicles like side panels ect usually in a large roll warm up tack on end unroll tack the and watch the magic happen as it cools down.
It’s all fun and games until…. Glad your okay.
You guys rock, loved the video the suspense for the last week about your injury was worth it, hope you are back to 100% soon! I think this channel was lacking a shop kitty, Bombi found the coolest home ever!
Glad you’re ok Robby. It could have been worse and hit you in many different Bad places like your eyes, teeth, nose…… The Bombi is slowly coming along. Excited to see the finish product. Great video. 🤙😎
That Bombi door latch looks like the ones used on Freightliner trucks. Those latches are readily available.
To help eliminate warpage, use cotton rag lightly dampened in ice water. It's worked well for me for 45 years. Cotton rag doesn't melt onto hot steel. Love your program. Watching from Ontario Canada.
I was about to comment the same thing.
Those Power wheels can be fun, I took a 6S Lipo which is 22.2 volts and put in one of the JD Utvs, it was so much fun till I got the wheels so hot they collapsed. Power wheels are so easy to modify the motors to. From the factory they use a 540 or 550 brushed motor, if you upgrade them to a better brushed motor their even more fun! (Not for kids though)
As someone who has had to sandblast stickers off something thank you for grinding them off
Wet towels or heat sink paste, can help minimize warpage. Talk to your welding supplier.
For the door latched check out the latches for a camper Even horse and cattle trailers
Precious, the shop cat. Nice one Robby.
You can get a paddle latch a trailer parts shop. Spent forever looking for one when I was rebuilding a horse trailer. Found that most RV parts stores have them.
... Mom said it's your fault...! Love it Kids are great... 😇
HOLY CRAP! HEAL SOON!... MERRY XMAS!
Merry Christmas!!!
New 'It is tomorrow' transitions...Robby doing a wheelie!
Don't feel too bad, Robby. I got 5 stitches in my forehead over Thanksgiving too.
Hit the rollback on my x3 pulling with a tow strap. Should have used my yankum, might not have hurt myself.
We can't wait to see more about your Bombi!! Everytime we have seen an adult on a power wheel, it enda with a doctor visit.
A cat in a body shop, with fresh paint. What could POSSIBLY go wrong?🐱
✌️🐸
That door handle reminds me of the door handles on my dad's old New Holland swather. It is long gone now, but maybe you can try a tractor/implement shop for door parts?
Wow Robby, I'm sorry that happened to you.
