  • K & S Heavy Haulage, with help from Taylor Haulage and Hawkins Haulage WA are seen hauling a CAT 6040 Excavator for Fortescue Metals Group in two parts, at 8 mtrs wide.
Videoed on Great Northern Highway. Western Australia.
From overtaking lanes near Blue Plains Road, Chittering. Then Bindoon Hill, Little Bindoon Hill, Long Bridge Gully, and Sattelite Hill, Yarawindah.
Keep an eye on this movement. It was a extremely hot day, in the mid 40C degrees in the local area. The helper block trucks from Hawkins Haulage WA and Taylor Haulage were hooked up at Muchea Road Train Assembley Area.
When they arrived at Chittering Roadhouse, for a rest break. Due to the hot weather. Both block trucks were rearranged and hooked up to each K & S Heavy Haulage's Mack Titans, through the Bindoon Hills, one load at a time.
After Long Bridge Gully, there's a roadside parking area. Where upon arrival of the undercarraige for the CAT 6040 Excavator. Both block truck drivers returned, back to Chittering Roadhouse. Along with the Traffic Escort Warden and pilots.
Once all back at the parking rest bay. They all regrouped and headed north again.
Other trucks were also videoed. Friday 2 February 2024.

It's incredible that both parts needs three prime movers at Bindoon Hill. It's obvious this machine is extremely heavy. Push/pull setups always looks good and these two are no exception. It's great to see a new SAR Legend in the convoy. She's a beautifully dressed up rig. Wow 46°C that's insane. For me even 30°C is too much, therefore I can't even imagine what 46 feels like. Your dedication is amazing. Great footage again Terry, thank you for the entertainment.

Thank you Zsolti. Yes Hawkins Haulage WA, Kenworth SAR looks immaculate. Last I've heard, the owner has about 20 trucks in his fleet. Does all sorts of work, side tippers, freight, grain / fertilizer etc. Yes, here in Perth we're generally used to 35-41 degrees, during summer. But ark it up, a bit to mid 40 degrees. Then that gets too much!😃
Without knowing the actual MRWA requirements, for heavy oversize loads tackling hill climbs, and on extreme high temperature days. With the bitumen road surface, being at crtical level. There'd be a limit on the traction push required from the prime mover driving wheels, compounding onto the road itself. Also it's makes sense, to have extra helper trucks, more torque power! I'll leave it at that! I need to search up more specifications, it's getting too technical for me!😃

Glad I read the description , I thought there were two separate loads on different days 🤣🤣, so I watched it again to get what was going on 😆😆, the weather has been extremely nasty across the whole state, I've only had 1 flat tire to change last swing, thank goodness, but always out with the grease gun ... all my companies trucks have been limited to 90kph, its just too hot to run at 100kph🥵. Thanks for the great video Terry, bit of a win for you too, 2 loads for the price of one... Cheers again for the great video Terry 👌👌

Thanks Wilson. Yeah I wanted to describe, as easy for reading. As to what was happening with this heavy oversize. The more I was typing, the more confused I was!😃 Thanks for understanding the story.🙂 Only one tyre to replace, you were lucky there. Yeah the hot temperature being notched up a few degrees, can be very taxing. Was good your company, dropped the speed limit down for the heat wave. So you guys, do the grease ups, no mechanics doing that, then?

trucks go for normal servicing and repairs etc, but keeping the grease up in dusty conditions is important...@@koorta-boodjor1522

Perth itself is heading for record run of over 40 degrees so far this year. Why----- Massive heat fronts from the North West coming South. WA Govt now worried about enough elect supply in Perth metro on those days. Whats next---Public asked to conserve elect on 40 degree + days.
    Great trucking videos.

Yeah, weather pattern is so crazy. What 49C degrees in Geraldton the other day. And Western Australia was the hottest place on earth, How crazy is that! And the State Government, is asking people to control their power usage, that's funny. Stay cool, thanks for watching.
