I have the benchmade griptillian 551-1. Cpm20cv steel and g10 grip. I thought $190 was crazy but this blade still cuts paper after 2 years of casual use. Every day at least 5 times a day cutting boxes, tape, cloth, or rubber.
Have been looking at getting one of these and I see others here also feel the price is costly, but I also see they are warranted for life even if handed down, that to me would justify the cost, would be interested in others views on that.
BirdShot IV suggested your channel so I had to come by and check you out. You do some very good reviews, I hate to say that they might be better than mine, LOL. I had to subscribe because you do a lot of knives that I don't have.
I happen to own an Esee Zancudo folding k ife, and it's one I use frequently, preferring it to the Rat 2, both Randall designs, I believe. We're I to be in the market for a fix blade, the knife you're presently reviewing, would certainly be a candidate. My complain, not limited to this knife, has to do with the black coating, something that rubs off soon the minute the knife gets any use. Strictly as a collector's item, as a knife that gets absolutly no use, this knife with its black powder coating is rather impressive.
Just bought this knife. n i really like it. I got the extra stuff the cord and whistle n stuff. I like how it came with stickers n the survival cards. Really high quality
Really good informational video. Were you aware you can scout/horizontal carry with the original case that comes with the Izula2? I JUST found out minutes ago, the trick is only using 2 of the screws offset because you can’t use all 4, they won’t line up. I wish I saw the video that showed me this before I had a bada$$ leather scout carry sheath made for $45, lol Oh well 🤷🏼♂️
I had an Esee 4 and an Esee 5. I gave them both away because the cheap Schrades... Schf56L and Schf36 out performed them. I have a Schrade Schf16 that may even out perform the Esee 2(maybe not) I just feel like I got burned with Esse. I am in the process to order a couple new knives in fixed blades and I will probably go between a Bark River, LTWK, or Falkniven.
I have Esee 4 stainless - absolutely hate it : at least one inch short handle , too wide blade , blade terribly polished , doesn`t hold edge . Out the box -looks as 6 months used blade . Overpriced , paid some over $ 130.00 - worst purchase ever made .
looks like a solid knife but for the like $90 I keep seeing it I do t see it if it cost $40-$50 I can see it for sure it looks so small I still think it is overpriced
Esse lifetime warranty seals the deal for most people. Also i would rather have a fixed blade like the esse over a overpriced benchmade folder

just bought a laser strike for edc and i’m planning to get an izula 2 to keep in my pocket for small tasks at work
two knives I use when hiking camping or working in the woods are this one... and the tops bob
Love that knife thank you sir!

They are a bit pricey but just so versatile. That warranty is something to consider for sure. To me, Esees seem to be worth it for the most part.
Beautiful knife. Great value for money, IMO. I would not hesitate!
I would recommend the white river knives backpacker for a premium, corrosion resistant version.
I would recommend the tops bob

Sweet! Ha thanks man I appreciate it. More stuff coming up!

I love mine...! (but my sheath rattles...but I bought a custom one)
I'm buying the 440c version next month.
Good video

Schrade has some good performers for sure. Those are some high end brands, hope they treat you well!

Burned by Esee????
+Ben Schildgen - did u end up buying the Bark River, LTWK, or Falkniven or other? have u used it bushcrafting and how did u like it?
What's the handle thickness with the scales?
Thanks for the good review. 1095 is good steel but it doesn't justify high cost. My Old Hickory knives are 1095 and they are very budget friendly.
Thanks for watching man. I definitely see what you're saying, I was uncertain at first. Still a little pricey but such a great design.
Wish it was in cpm154, oh ya!
Oh that would be killer if they released some upgraded steel versions!
It wouldn't be able to handle hard and I mean hard use.
noice! just ordered mine today in o d green
Sweet! hope yours treats you well
So you can only defend yourself with a full tang knife? You did say that right??
Well you thinks. Folding knife won’t break hitting bone?

I still think it is overpriced
I thought the same thing until I fell in love with the design and capabiliy
J. Bar new or used
J. Bar wow that's a good deal
Yeah my Cabelas has it for $95, just picked it up on amazon for $69 shipped
MoreGun_FreeMan blade HQ has 2 models that are going for $55 but that's the esse 1 I think
Handle is boring, but the blade is sexy.
Sexy? What are you a teenager.
It'd be a lot cooler with G10 Scales… ahahahee
shadowdance4666 You may be interested in visiting “The Knife Connection” website. I bought my Izula 2 there with their matching G10 scales. Cheers!
Looks Unused
Yeah that's what I was thinking.
