So yeah, coming from someone who has watched the series, I'll add my voice to say this is absolutely the best sci fi series I have ever seen and it puts all the others to shame. Complex characters, deep and evolving plot, believable factions and real tension for the action scenes. As a lifelong science fiction fan, this is an instant cult classic that I'll certainly be coming back to show my kids (when they're old enough). This is not your grandpa's sci fi, the sex scene you catch here is more like a little seasoning for what amounts to an incredible delight. Not even 15 seconds of sex over 40+ hours and it doesn't feel forced or excessive. If you have read this far, do yourself a favour and just try the series out. If you can find your not even a little interested by the end of the first season then I can only say we must have different ideas of what makes good sci fi or maybe you just aren't into it. Respectable, but it would be a real shame to miss it while we now await the release of season 6 on amazon prime video. Its one hell of a ride. Don't miss out on this.

The books are amazing... the biggest reason to read them is there are three books after the end of S6 that are probably the best narrative arc in the entire saga. The actual conclusion to the story wasn't filmed and put on television, and holy shit, it's worth it...

But I do wish they will do more of course, but exploring other characters (had a lot of fun with the first episode of Telltale’s The Expanse game which is focused on my favourite character of the series - Camina Drummer).

But without the stupid mystery box trope that tries to hype the audiences to serve them a turd at the end, due to the absolute lack of planning and imagination of the writers. Politics in space is so boring. Doesn't earth have enough of that. what is more fascinating is scientific theories combined with scifi. To each their own but hard pass.
None of the trailers I've seen really truly do service to the show. I personally put The Expanse up on a pedestal with things like: 2001: a space odyssey. Battlestar galactica reboot. Blade runner. I think it's as near a masterpiece as can be. Be aware if you do watch it that the start of season 1 is a slow burner, but persevere, it explodes!
Ok a really honest review, watched 3 seasons so far Season 1: 6/10 Season 2: 8/10 Season 3: 7/10 Unique and good story, beautiful aesthetic space scenes, good music and the thing I don't like is average acting by everyone like exaggerating every single emotion, MC having squinted eyes throughout 3 seasons. So overall yet it's been 7/10 for me

I'm so happy my friend told me to watch this series and I didn't see the trailer. The trailer is not that great, I feel not representative at all. The trailer makes it almost seem like some murder mystery or so (to some extend it is part of the series, but it really doesn't feel like that when you're watching) and for someone who doesn't know the series: the parts where Chrisjen Avasarala is walking through the snow and the end where she says "Earth is over." must seem quite random. For people who are unsure if they would watch it or not. My advise is to not judge it on the trailer but just start watching it. Also give it a few episodes. The beginning seemed a bit slow because there's the whole new world and complex situation you get dropped into.

Very well translated from the books. They made some changes, but I think they were very good ones. This series reminds me of Babylon 5 from the 90s. Fantastic characters. Well written episodes. Over-arching story plots that went through not just a few episodes, but entire seasons. The Expanse and Babylon 5 are examples of Sci-Fi written very, very well. Binge watch both of them. I promise that you will not be sorry you did so.
I'm listening to the first book of the Expanse series. I'm looking up the show to see how they made the belters look; in the book they're supposed to be very tall and elongated.
