It’s too bad it didn’t get picked up for more seasons. It was a great show. We used to watch it with my mom. This brought back good memories. 😍

This program ran on ABC for one season, from September 12, 1990, to June 6, 1991, in the United States during the 1990-91 television season. The series starred James Earl Jones, who won an Emmy Award for his performance.
A revamped version of the series, entitled Pros and Cons, aired briefly the following season from September 26, 1991, to January 2, 1992, in the United States during the 1991-92 television season. It is a revamped, more lighthearted version of Gabriel's Fire.

In my opinion it was too modern a series in those days to be understood, also partly due to the topics covered, a series with the same plot and the same premises perhaps broadcast on a platform like Netflix or Paramount + would still be an excellent idea. I would see Forest Whitaker well in the same role. And unlike 1990, setting it today would have much more affection after thirty years in prison because the world has changed so much more than the era between the 60s and 90s

This theme music is criminally underrated.
