One of my favorite videos... so glad I FINALLY found it!
love you, spent over months looking for something like this
I have a RUclips channel about fishing and rod building. It is a small channel and I was keeping the earnings there for a new camera. I been watch you for a while now and decided to build my first rig and start another channel to show my progress. Thank you so much for all you have shared with us.
Way to go!
Very informative video and not too long. This will be my first time attempting to build a rig. Appreciate your help🤙
This is EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR! THANKS!!
Great video! One thing new minders should always consider but isnt completely necessary is a outlet power meter. This is really helpful when tuning and even upgrading.
Love how far this channel has come! Thanks for all the knowledge brother! Great video!
Hi. I really appreciate this video. I'm very new to mining and consider my self tech literate but definitely not techy. This video series is exactly what I needed to reduce the intimidation factor I feel in trying to go through the learning curve and see if I can actually become a minor. My question to you is how much time do you spend weekly on maintenance, checking on power usage, profitability, making changes...etc.? I have a family and other demands in my life so I want to get an idea of how much time this mining adventure will demand of me. Thank you again. You have helped a lot of people like me though these videos.
Cant wait for the next video mate.
Got all the hardware in today!
You've def got the info my guy.. I'm gonna start buying parts asap to build one.. Thanks
Great content. Got yourself a new subscriber cant wait till part 2
Thank you for the support!
@@TheHobbyistMiner what other motherboards do you recommend
Your a champion HM, I know a fair bit or enough lol but I am useless at tying it all together in one organized structured format. You my man, are the secret ingredient. You even use the word structure. I stopped asking you questions because the more videos I watch of your builds the more they get answered anyway. Previously I've said before my inability to get into mining sooner was actually a good thing, especially budget wise. You did a tremendous job on showing people how to enter into something with minimal cost and risk, Kudos bro, keep up the good work. I'll still continue to comment from the family farm downunder in what I hope to be the beginnings of bigger build, but because there is few people out here, I speak overly frequently on here! I think all the time learning was well spent last couple years, from machines to sheds to solar you fellas have all bases covered. Time for Part 2 and 3 ;)
Thank you for thr kind words
Ive been watching alot of your videos and Sebs and Brandom. So far I have 3 3060 OC 12gb, radeon 6600xt, evga 1080ti ftw3 and a rtx 2060. I did buy the asrock q270 pro btc. I have an intel i5 processor and after watching this I bought a rig frame on amazon, not the one you had but a little more just to be safe. Im so close to getting it all together so I am excited to see the rest of this series. I think the hardest part is the first right build and getting the nerves up to do it, then the rest comes easier I feel. Keep up the good work
This is a eye opener and a game changer for someone like me
Thank you for the video. If I could thumbs up this video multiple times I would. Not enough videos on RUclips like this. Looking forward to the others. 👍👍👍 And got my sub
Amazing video, I love it. I'm very new to minning and currently use my gaming pc for mining. I will definitely be coming back to this video when I'm ready to build my rig.
Great video Hobbyist. I bet this will help a lot of newer miners. Also they should keep on my mind that the prices of gpus could potentially continue to drop from here. Be patient and welcome to mining
Thanks for the support brother!
Good entry level approach for those of us still relatively new to Mining!
Looking forward to Video #2...Keep up the good work 👍🏾
@@user-ei3ee9fu1g lol fake
Being a new miner this helped out a lot and had all my parts already just had to put it into theory but I’m now mining ETC and just moved into a rig frame. Keep the good content coming bud 👍👍
Lmao the bitcoin bubble popped.
its worthless now.
@@Inuitman 1 - It's not worthless, it's worth less. 2 - i don't care about bitcoin, i'm not mining it, and if my coin became worthless, i'd just switch to another coin.
Continue seething.
@Inuitman that aged bad its worth a shit ton
Great video for people looking to getting into mining. Wish I had this video when I started 🙂
This is a must watch video for anyone who is thinking about getting into mining. Easy to understand and using equipment that has growth potential if they want to continue. I wish I had a video like this when I got into building my mining farm. Great Job Hobbyist!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I used to use SerpentX Tech's monthly build series as a guide. His are usually geared around $5,000 or so for 6 card rigs (and he uses scalped prices), but I found his PCPartPicker lists useful, in general, when I first started out. There weren't a lot of people doing a lot of these kinds of videos, though. The more, the merrier.
thanks for the video , awesome content
Hello sir my name is Dawood I am also a miner of eth and every thing that i know about mining rigs is all about watching your each and every video on your channel then I start my RUclips channel so thank you so much sir for your videos to help me out and to run my RUclips channel big love 💖 and big respect from Pakistan 🇵🇰 🥰🥰🥰you are my ideal love you 😍
Love it ! Would love to see a video on how to build a intermediate Rig. (Aka have one but it’s been a while since I built one)
$500 was just what I was spending on a gpu alone. Really happy to see prices start coming down. I’m now up to 7 cards and still building. Thanks for all of your great content!!
Grats on 7 Cards! Your on your way!
1660ti alone cost 450$ at my place :')
@@fluffyball3347 Yep. I'm seeing a 1660Ti and a 2060 for $300 on FB marketplace at the moment, myself. I don't know for a fact, but I'm thinking Hobbyist is assuming you send people low ball offers and really work to land a deal on this stuff. Seems a little "advanced" to a beginner miner to me unless they have a friend locally that's showing them the ropes and advising them, step by step. I'd show a beginner this video, then tell them $600 is probably more realistic, but maybe you get lucky.
@@magiclucky5152 it's hard to send lowball offers here in my place since most of them(gamers i assume) paid scalper price(around 500$) for those cards
@@TheHobbyistMiner just picked up another 1660 ti for a good deal. Make that eight cards now!!
Thank you very much we need videos like this thanks ❤💪
love your new format!!! great video
Glad you like it!
Really nice man!
YOU ARE THE G.O.A.T
The 1660Ti was such a steal!
I love the fact this would help anyone get their foot in the door!
Thank you, I had no thought about using a PC motherboard to do this so I got a Mining board :(
Glad ro help
Happy Monday when the hobbyist miner uploads
Happy Monday!
Awesome video!!!
Thanks man i have built my at home supporting my black community it's cul😂😎😄
$150 btc s37, $5 usb, $20 ram. $60 for cables and breakoutboard and server psu
I did that same thing. Loving it!!
Good job
Great video! 16 series cards are awesome still, I'm currently waiting on a ASRock q270 mining motherboard so I can put all my 12-13 1660 Supers and Ti's on one rig :D
Very nice! Sweet Setup!
Make sure all those slots are pcie and not just pci. I found out that my motherboard isn’t all pcie and got stuck only being able to add 3 gpus to it. Great video, man. This is really good information.
Thanks for the tip!
good morning ☀️ nice vid
nice
Thats an insane deal on the 1660ti I haven't seen any deals like that locally
I got that power supply at best buy a while back open box for 25$
CPU + Motherboard + case only 150$ on aliexpres
X79h61 great deal!
I'm starting out and that's the frame I have. I have GTX 1660 super. Have not started it yet . It has no windows yet getting ready to put in a SSD drive .
Profitability of this mining rig? Just curious how long it would take to break even.
yeah 1660ti for undre $300 is impossible in my area
Same
Love your videos ❤️❤️
Thanks for the support!
Do u have a second video explaining how to set up the rig?
Literally just picked up a complete PC with a MSI PC Mate mobo, 2 hyper X ram sticks and 2 unidentified ones, on Ebay over the weekend for a total of $90 shipped. Still debating on what cards I wanna put in it. I have yet to purchase any frames as cardboard boxes have been working out great😅. But I like having cases so if I can resell them they'll go as gaming PCs when I'm done.
I've been wanting to build a mining rig for about 2 years now I will start buying parts for this this month I don't know what this is going to mine I hope it means something good to mine
Great video man
Thank you
Thank you sir
I’m going to make a raspberry pi cluster for cpu mining 😎
Lover the idea but maybe should have looked at a bigger power supply for future prof. Something that can handle the 6 card frame.
This would be perfect except that GPU find is ridiculously cheap. He said it himself in the video that eBay sales of the same card were too much. The same exact card is selling for $400+ in my area, which was his budget for the entire build. The rest of the stuff is spot on, aside from the bronze PSU. If you're going to invest $ into this then a nicer (at least silver/gold) PSU should be a no-brainer.
I'm completely new and want to start mining.
This is what I need for now while I'm gathering infos. Thanks
On your next video, can you please explain what you can mine with these and the profitability.
And one more question. If you had to start over, what would you mine?
Thanks
I found everything you found for £302.38 wow not bad
Great video as usual. One small change i would do, or what i did when i started back in 2013. Since o was really poor. Is skip the frame and the rizer. It's not needed untill you start buying your second or ,3th graphic card depending on the motherboard. (I started off with a 5 slot mobo with 2 PCI 16 slots. To save the 2 rizer slots at the start. And just set the motherboard ironically on the box it got delivered in. Just a real cheap ass solution but works ;).
And a short fyi i am from the EU. But i see some disturbing messages about Newegg from gamernexus and such. Aspecially openbox. It might be an idea to skip them in your mentions but that's all to personal preference 😎
What parts would you switch out if you had a 3060ti to start with?
بارك الله فيك
Am not so sure of that👍👍
if you are going for used parts, pick up a LGA 775 motherboard with 5 PCI-E slots, some cheap RAM and a Core 2 Duo/Quad CPU, will cost you like 30 dollars.
Great series of videos coming up! However I truly believe that a person who is just feeling on what mining is, is more likely to start with Windows vs HiveOS. Based on that people are more familiar with Windows compared to Linux environment that could scare up the new miner. Even though HiveOS hides most of the Linux.
Agree 100%. I started out on NiceHash. I doubt I would have dove in all the way, had I not done that step first. I even learned how to comfortably Overclock using their OC Tune which really isn't half bad for a beginner. He was determined to stay under that $500 mark and that was one way he pulled it off (a $7 boot drive). A 240GB ADATA for $25 gets the job done, Windows and HiveOS alike. If I had to skip the cost of a frame, to start out as a beginner, I'd do that just so I could start on Windows.
Did anyone try to mine using the same or similar components? Is it worth it? How many days do you need to get your money back?
I looked at the reviews on this mining rig frame. I've always been curious about them because I've never used one. Not good. You get what you pay for. So, I was watching Altered Component's latest video and I'll just toss this out to all the newcomers on this kind of budget: Shoe rack. The bonus of buying it, besides being cheaper than a bad $40 mining frame, is if you decide mining is stupid you can regift it to your girlfriend or wife on your anniversary.
👍
I like this. Can I mine Bitconin with it or is it just for etherium ?
Go riserless, all you'll need is laptop ram, a 1200w psu and the board. 300$ total
Has me thinking.
Perfect video for me, i am starting up. Waiting for my btc s37 mobo from AliExpress. Still looking for a GPU and PSU.
You should buy a 1200w HP server power supply with a breakout board combo off of eBay for under $100 as for the Gpu Rx 6600s are available on Best Buy for $479
@@EAi-ht9xk i read that the 3070 lhr is efficient on altcoins after eth changes (i have €0,30/kWh). Thanks for the tip!
I got that same frame for sale on Walmart Online for $20
All these equipments are 500$ why isn’t it better to spend 650$ on a new MSI laptop and start mining on it, at the end of the day you have a laptop and you can sell it if you want. Correct me if I’m wrong or if I got the whole idea wrongly please.
Could I use an old am2 dual core motherboards /cpu ?
Are there any other processors you can use as i cant find the intel core i5 4690k anywhere ?
I have a 4090 & an i9 13 gen I wanted to know if I can use my gaming pc as a mining rig?
I have a 1660 Phoenix oc, but only ddr5.
Can I use this card?
Idk why but "what is going on miners" made my immature self break into laughter
RIP to me and all those in 2021 that tried building a pc. 1660 super for $500 was a real fun time///
Can you please tell me? what is the meaning of 10 number in red color in Hivos?
The second option 510 watts was $29 and some change. Could have saved even if money.
Is all the same work for asrog Q270 pro btc+ ??
What is the performance for the rig?will it be profitable?
To make a small rig with 3 of the 1070 GPU's, would you still get away with just a flash drive or does it need an SSD?
Flash Drive is just fine.
Noob Question for OP. Do all the GPU’s require a 16x slot or will they work fine thru x1 slots? Trying to determin which mobo to get
NM: google is our friend. Does’t matter with the use of the risers. 👍🏻
Brilliant, can we next one what you mine and how profitable please
Wait patiently for how to build the rig, hash rate ,profitability.
Man, I paid 400 on Alibaba for a 570 8gb and got scammed, it never showed up in nicehash or task manager and couldn't get a refund. I also paid 100 bucks for a mining rig chassis, I've had terrible luck in trying to just start mining. Ive had mining hardware for almost 2 years now and its still not functional.
Another option just buy a used or refurb pc. They go for like $30 bucks.
New miners don't need risers or mining frames.. save your dollar and get more efficient PSU..
Get an 850w off Amazon for 65$ put board on the box lol save the 💰
@@etaylor7542 is 850w a gpu?
use second hand and old motherboard with CPU and 3GB ram enough and around CPU motherboard and ram-like 20$ or 30$.and power use server power
we came a long way from 99 woodcutting.
i feel like you could have gone without the frame and the risers as a starting rig if you are unsure if you want to expand. You can get away with just putting the GPU on the motherboard directly and just putting the board on a shelf.
Totally agree. You could strip things down to a traditional desktop computer only. My mindset was as mentioned at the end, i wanted to keep a good balance of possible expandability but also keeping the budget in mind. Hence why "SOME" items where for expansion like the Frame and Motherboard.
Unfortunately at my country , GTX 1660 TI still over $500
Buy 1080/1070
My 3080 is now worth less
@@GangbossMok Ive got a 3060 TI I paid like 450$ for... the pain..
Even though I am here 1 year later, it costs 600$ in my country rn
yeah i thought getting the GPU would be impossible, I am always looking but GPUs are harder to find now then last year.. sucks
Let's say we get started on this beginner rig like this one and we decide to invest more into it what more could you add on to this same rig to increase profits?
I have free power and internet what's the best kind of mining rig I should get for Bitcoin to fit in my spare bedroom
Would a gtx 1660 super work better?
good video, but i was waiting for a software side tutorial .. still good for rookies tho
