To those that have family (as I do) that are still in the JW cult and we wonder why they can't wake up -

Most persons who are in the Watchtower Organization minds are programmed to be submissive to The Governing Body.
They are not ready to be unplugged.
Many of them are so inert and hopelessly indoctrinated they will fight to protect The Watchtower Organization to their last breath.
They are prisoners in a man trap fro Christians and they don't even know it. And that's why they have to open their own eyes for themselves.
While we wait for that to happen, we can drop some bread crumbs leading them to start thinking for themselves.

that's pretty much what it comes down to. think about it You give up your whole life from 1914 with the promise you will see the end you give up your life you survived to 2022 and you lucky to make it to 108 yrs old and got no family,, education nothing to show or the 1975 people who gave up jobs, sold their home and nothing happened. that is messed up!

Maybe its people like you that have fallen asleep from the worlds hokes pokes.
Jesus quoted Isaiah who said the true God "has blinded their eyes and has made their hearts hard, so that they would not see with their eyes and understand with their hearts"
(2 Corinthians 4:3, 4) "If, in fact, the good news we declare is veiled, it is veiled among those who are perishing,  among whom the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God, might not shine through" At Revelation 12:9 Satan is said to be “misleading the entire inhabited earth.”
Satan’s control over the present system of things, including its governments and, was indicated when he offered Jesus “all the kingdoms of the world” in exchange for “an act of worship.”-Mt 4:8, 9. In addition, Satan controls the world's religions and now includes people who think critical thinking is the way to the truth.

All there funerals are pitch for doctrine on death and soul. Their funerals are so depressing, like no thoughts to the importance of the person that past. They place importance on their works to them.
I grew up JW! I was disfellowshipped once got back in and realized what mistake. It remarried after leaving my JW husband that went to prison for war objector. Parents converted him after I married him. Not what I wanted. Trying to get away from home and the JWs. My first husband did not want children. I miscarried and was extremely sad. He did not care. I left him!
      I Married a Baptist man… in 1969 funny. We moved and I faded out…
By 1980 I accepted Jesus as my Savior . Been a Christian 40 years.
We have very happy marriage and we had 2 kids. My hubby has a son from before he met me but did know he was out there. Army man that served in Vietnam.
Big no no to marry a Baptist and someone that was just out from serving in the Army.
I Don’t get a chance to watch this much as we moved my Mom in with us because she was put on hospice care. She pulled through and now off hospice. But she will stay living with us as she still needs care. My Mom was a JW since I was 4 yrs old. She’s 92 now and I’m 72 !
I lead her to Jesus while she was ill. She knows words to hymns so believe she went to Church sometime in her early years but never spoke of going. Her Mom was Mormon but never went to church. Mom has dementia.
We are so blessed to have her with us!!
And my Dad accepted Jesus on his death bed 7 years ago!
God does amazing things in our life if we dig into Gods Word and believe all His word is true! You don’t need JWs to interpret it for you! God gives each of us eyes to see and learn it! Know the true God!

It’s sad how they gave their all and have nothing to show for it. The saddest though is they raised their children to try to make a living with just a HS education. What was that study look like? We will read a paragraph, you will ask the question, we give the answer, and maybe read a Bible text. How is this helpful? If you want to help us, let's hang out, get to know us outside of these walls, etc.

God Bless all of you. You answered so many of my inner feelings I have had for years. It's like I went into therapy and realized what it was I have really been feeling but didn't know how to express it. I appreciate that you are speaking out about what it is to be black in this organization in an honest respectful manner. I also wondered why the world headquarters GB were All white men and not made up of various ethnic backgrounds to be able to give balanced perspective and understanding to world wide events. And so much more to say but I thank you beautiful souls of God for speaking out and stepping up and sharing. God's Blessings with you all in the the love of our Lord Yeshua, (Jesus) .

I lived in an area of south Jamaica. NY in the 60s. For those who don't know the area, it is a Black area. Territory lines were changed because there was one area that was all white. They didn't want Black Witnesses in their neighborhood. For me and my mother that meant we were also moved to a new congregation. My mother turned to me at our first meeting and said we're the only whites here. I met a lot of great people.

JT you made a good point about when someone serves the corp in a foreign country with no health insurance or back up then getting sick & having to return home. I know TWO sisters TWO separate experiences that were serving in overseas Branches (1 was a Gilead Grad), They basically gave up their youth for the Corp. Both these sisters encountered illnesses requiring they go back to Australia for surgery. When they finished their treatment & were ready to return to their assignments they were told by the Corp that they were no longer required. One sister was told that Bethel doesn't want sick people. A 3rd experience was the wife of a CO (both Gilead Grads) got cancer & required surgery, the Australian Branch told them they had to fund their own medical fees because they hadn't been in the full time service for 5 years! Eventually the Corp did cover the fees but advised the couple they would have to reimburse the Society if they stopped serving full time with in the 5 years of service. What a cold unloving corporation this is.

Ever notice as a Witnesses you are NEVER questioned about how accurate your field service report is? That's because if you are not truthful about how many hours you spend it goes into the records and legitimizes the organization as a religion worthy of the 501-(C-3) tax status. That is most important to the cult because it's really a profit making business. Their corporate status is the real face of Jehovah.

Hi JT, Lady Cee & Tracey, I really enjoyed this exit story! I wasted 42 years in the organization and I only got the courage when my kids, decided it was a bunch of bunk. I had doubts before, but my mother was in as my grandmother & great grandmother. So, my kids finally gave me the way out and I learned about the ARC and I fell down the rabbit hole! I’ve been out 9 years now. My mother died last year and she hadn’t talked to me for the past 8 years and the last thing she told me was I was going to die with my kids! I told her, well, I don’t care and I’ll be dead so I won’t know it! It’s just hard to know that’s all she thought about me. I hadn’t heard her say she loved me, in 8 years. I love your channel!🌺🌺🌺

It is human nature to pigeon hole our personal experience as the basic experience of everyone who has left. Thank you again for sharing this with the rest of us! ❤️❤️❤️ (A heart for each of you!)

I always wondered why black people were deep up in the JWs. I seen the one Critical Thinkers, where JT said the black people in the old days were glad to sit amongst whites and be called brother and it's been passed down, I grew up in a neighborhood where all the so-called black working class people went to the hall. My aunts would witness to me until I started asking about nationality, what about the slaves, the Jim crow days? I read where the halls and assemblies were segregated. I said this isn't even whom we are, looking LIKE black people in the Mormons the older I got when I learned to see who really run it. My oldest Aunt doesn't call or text me scriptures anymore, my mom told them I "be listening to apostate" shows on the computer, but all I did was ask questions, like when my mom said jehovah is going to use the UN to help bring on armageddon and destroy the wicked when I said the JW joined the un in another of our back and forths, when they said they joined to used the library. Mom didn't know. She be trying to send me,

It's interesting listening to former JWs who chose to become JWs as opposed to being born and raised in it. I can't relate because I was born and raised in it. How we experienced the Watchtower cult life is really different! I served "where the need was great" in the DR like this woman. It's was mostly a great and eye-opening experience. I lived in el campo as well. Specifically in Hato del Yaque.
The "sister" I stayed with had the same energy of the "vanilla" woman she described but they definitely weren't the same person. I wonder if the WT set general house rules for everyone serving in the DR?

I am/was a lot like Tracey wanting the conversations and being upfront and elders got to the point where (I heard from them) that two of them had to be present any time I wanted to talk, because I'd talk "real"...but they always pointed to their slick talk so it never concluded to make sense. I realize now that I am unconditioning myself by listening to the reasoning of you all...that's what really helps. My dad passed away a few months ago and now my child and I are back home living with my mom to be with her and so she isn’t alone. And I’m having to be fake again. It pulls so much emotion because I know it’s all a lie. I turned in my letter of reinstatement, they truly feel I am sincere. But I just don’t know how long I can keep this up. I don’t want my child to be indoctrinated. My mom plays the Caleb and Sofia videos. 🤬I get so wound up sometimes. I really don’t know what to do. My sister is df as well but she believes still. I also have a bit of ptsd so I get triggered and snap. Every bone in my body says run now, but I love my mom and I don’t want to hurt her because she loves Jehovah. It’s just too much to go into on here, but I’m just trying to keep myself together.

I learned I needed to keep quiet about how it made me feel because I was just a single mother with no voice and that's how they do things and so I thought I would never want a funeral talk from a jw because they had no compassion for the family's needs.

My poor dear aunt suffered a horrendous death. For the last year of her life she couldn’t even speak, or move her body. My JW family took advantage and studied with her. She had never been interested before. Now when she’s non verbal and suffering they push studying on her. When she died they hi jacked her funeral. Her poor children were distraught and accepted the help with arrangements. They had it at a funeral home because she wasn’t baptized but the entire time they preached to the attendees. They handed out literature and invited everyone to the meetings. Her children are not witnesses so they had no familiarity with what was being said at their own mothers funeral. It was infuriating and I left feeling disgusted. My poor aunty wasn’t even a witness but they spoke as if she was. Opportunist.

If there is a god I would be more afraid of dying as one the GB since I never thought about using god to justify a need for power. Isn't it a more grave sin to represent yourself as chosen by god? I remember after being out for years and my first video was S Lett, I couldn't believe they put this guy on a video. I was thinking of writing the society and politely saying he shouldn't be on video. But this is the best the org has now and it makes sense. The GB is driving more people away than apostates, apostates just have the truth for when your mind is ready to listen. Accepting that JW's is a cult was the first big step for me.
