1. Budget! One piece budget is bigger that Game of thrones! And still, budget is not enough. 100 million for a 2 hour movie is not the same as 18 mil for one piece episode, they simply can not afford good CGI Fishmens and etc. That is the reason why they removed Hachi. 2. Time! They had to inject whole plot in 8 hours and make a complete story, they just had to sacrifice something. 3. As a one piece fan, I enjoy watch reactions. One strange thing - everybody loves Buggy! I agree with you, I don’t get why, but people likes him a lot, so I guess it’s our problem and it is good that people get what they like more 4. As someone who knew all the plot twists, it was not entertaining part of the series for me, like when it was revealed that Garp is Luffy’s grandpa and etc. And as I agree that Sanji and Nami moment were not as good as I hoped, people who haven’t seen anime were amazed by this scenes and I think it’s just something we can not judge objectively Overall, I hope creators gain experience with this experiment and next season will be awesome!
Couldn’t agree more with all your points man! Personally if time was really a concern, then I don’t see the harm in doing more episodes, like a 10 episode series would have been enough time to flesh things out, but whatever. But yeah, regardless, I’m excited to see where things go in season 2
@@timjongunproductionsthat would be an extra 36 million dollars on a project that's not guaranteed to be a profitable investment. Not that the fanbase was in question, just the fact that every live action has failed before it made this a legitimate risk. Tomorrow Studios didn't pick a low episode count, Netflix allowed only those many episodes for them to work with
A lot of this isn't really... *actual* reasons why the show is overrated or fails, just things you found cringe or would've done differently. It's also not really delivered in a concise way, it often wholly misrepresents what actually happened and it gives off that it's because you disliked this particular thing.
The Buggy section for example kinda just completely leaves out that the reason for his presence goes hand in hand with the story being restructured. You pass it off as him being there for no reason, when he was quite specifically the eavesdropper and informant who helped a lot of the "One step ahead" stuff make sense
I feel like it’s not really fair to say that my reasons for disliking the show aren’t “actual reasons”, especially my biggest issue where a lot of moments feel unearned. I give plenty of reasoning and examples as to why I consider something these things issues. Like if we’re going to talk about the buggy section, keep in mind that there were already scenes where Nami was contacting arlong through the snail mics, and I just assumed they’d introduce arlong in the story that way, which is why I was confused why they forced Buggy into these sections of the story, but even if Buggy’s inclusion was completely justified, that still doesn’t explain why he’s still involved in the overall story once the “one step ahead” thing is revealed. It’s fine if you wholeheartedly disagree with my opinion, but I stand by what I say in this video.
@@timjongunproductions No, it's entirely fair to say so. The reasons should pass on at least a grain of truth, something that can have a deeper explanation as to why they degrade the show's quality, or some kind of tangible harm they did to the production. Again, calling something "cringe" isn't a line of discourse. As for the Buggy section, maybe it actually does make sense that Nami doesn't keep phoning direct information to Arlong constantly while sailing with the Straw Hats, while still establishing that she works for him. That'd help quite a bit. I know you stand by what you said and everything, it just feels like you didn't say much at all.
My top 12 favorite live action manga & webtoon adaptations are currently :) 1. Rurouni Kenshin films 2. Oldboy 2003 3. Ichi the killer 4. Kingdom show 5. All of us are dead show 6. Sweet home show 7. Alice in Borderland show 8. One piece show 9. Lone wolf & cub films 10. Lady snowblood 1&2 11. Blade of the immortal 12. Crying freeman There's more out there, especially when it comes to Romcoms & Dramas.
Guardians of the Galaxy volume 3 reignited my faith in a "live action" Chopper. If they can make a talking racoon a believable character who is the emotional core of a story, they can do the same with an anthropromorphic reindeer baby!
I thought it was a lot of fun but I think for season 2 it needs more humor, ppl get too obsessed over the fights and serious stuff and forget it's more an adventure/comedy series first at least in the 1st half of the series
I definitely agree, while I understand that the show wants it prioritize being an action adventure and a lot of the over the top humor from the manga wouldn’t work in live action, the series would benefit a lot by leaning into the comedy more since humor is a defining feature of the manga
LOL cowboy bepop was terrible 😂 and yeah I have been hearing lots of great things about the show I def want to check out this one but I also want to check out the original anime loved hearing your thoughts
It’s definitely the best live action anime adaptation if that means anything to you. Also you don’t need to have read the manga or watched the anime in case you’re worried. But glad you enjoyed the video as always man!
Not to give too much away, but Buggy actually shows up a lot in the manga/anime, slowly turnining into kind of an in-universe meme. The story makes him look more and more pathetic as the Strawhats power up...yet after a certain point in the story, he starts to find more and more success out of dumb luck, making everyone else think he's some kind of genius. I think the show writers wanted to mimic this on a smaller scale in the first season, but they must've struggled coming up with new stuff for him to do.
it sort of, but it has the elements that Netflix most needed:- fun, bizarre, light-hearted, and entertaining, with a well-written and smooth plots. when peoples getting tired of super heroes, super power, sci-fi, nudity, politics, etc.

Thanks man, either way I’m happy to check them out, even if it’s for ironic purposes lol

And that’s fine! I’m glad you like the show and don’t let me stop you, but I just think that it still has a lot of issues as I laid out in my vid
