Recently visit Sri Lanka mentioning some key points as of June 2023. Air Fare up-down is between INR 20K-23K, 4star property like Ramada is between INR 5K-6K, decent hotel in interior in Colombo you will get between INR 2500 TO 3000.
TUK - TUK (Auto) rate has been increased now LKR100/km appr.
Exchange rate is between 2.8 to 3.4(INR-LKR) online rate is 3.85, better to exchange at Colombo Airport only , best to carry dollars for better rate or LKR from India.
Food is cheap you can get a-la-carte for group of people around 500/600 per person.
Beer rate is same as India. Whisky are little bit costly.
four seater sedan/van cost INR 5000 for hole day & Ten seater van cost INR 10000-12000 with no km limits. OR four seater sedan for INR 3000-3500 & ten seater van for INR 6000-7000 for 8hours with 80km limits

This cost of Rs. 25k is only for one way flight right? If we include return flights then the budget of the trip goes upto Rs. 35k.

10000 flight tickets for round trip?? I can see tickets cost the same for only 1 way then how are we covering it in 25-30k budget?
Yes it was 11k for me in that month, check skyscanner, select the cheapest months options and check the dates, you have to be flexible with dates for the return trip

Otherwise sri lankan currency has fallen further to 4.xx against 1 INR may be due to the economic crisis the country’s facing sadly.

Hi can all the 3 regions be done in a 9 day trip . I.e Negombo area, kandy , and then Galle . Is it good to have a car all along
It’s actually best to have a car unless you want to experience some train rides from ella to nuwara eliya

Round flight tickets from Mumbai gonna cost 20-25k. Unless you are travelling from Chennai or Kochi the mentioned prices doesn’t make sense

Hi Anu, thanks for the comprehensive video, it is very helpful. For traveling Uber works in Sri Lanka as well but I wanted to know that is it better to set the payment as 'Cash' in Uber and pay them in SLR or is it better to still use your international debit/credit card for payments? Plus the conversion rates that are applied by your bank is it on the withdrawn amount example I withdraw 20K from a Sri Lankan ATM, and the withdrawal charges are applied on 20K?
Hey Vaishali, cash is anytime better than any international cards due to no markup fees, for uber its better you choose cash option. Yes while withdrawing the charges will be added on 20k and you can see those charges on atm, if you are withdrawing 20k, for example money deducted from your bank will be 20500 but you will get 20k while withdrawing

Public transportation is good in srilanka or budget is not a problem so you can hire taxi too from colombo. From kandy to ella to nuwara eliya, you can travel from the train. Its a beautiful journey

This is something in which you can do this trip in 25k since now visa is also free. I experienced every category to finalise it
Currency conversion from india is wayyyyy better than using cards on travel…cars can be used in emergency cases…but only using cards for the whole travel is a disaster

Yes you can do that also but we have withdrawn the cash from the srilankan atm directly at the airport

Hey Ashwini, It’s a geniune concern going on, till date I have heard apart from power cuts and expensive fuel prices, tourists have not faced anything huge but again this is very dynamic with time. I request you to please check with your hotel/stays regarding the power cuts and transportation ways once again before visiting.

Yeah, definitely you find such places. Unfortunately we didn’t go for it as that time we were at the peak of third wave but you can definitely try.

Hey hi …thanks for sharing but I still after all calculations did not find your trip to complete in just 25k. You begin with the finances and budget and later deviated from it please calculate properly as your tagline is really misleading
There are several factors on which the total budget of the trip is decided. Major chunk is flight cost, if that is sorted, you can easily do it under the same budget. I am giving a price range for each parameter and cannot give one final cost.
I understand that , I am travelling across vietnam and yesterday I met a girl from lucknow solo traveller who saw some video that she could cover 10 days in vietnam for only 40K including flights from lucknow say food and here she was already spent 50k was carrying a rupay card that doesn’t work here and her Forex guy was not ready to top up her card. I met her in an Indian restaurant in danang and she had no idea what to do next as her return flight was from Hà Nội on 9th …but no local currency in hand. She said she one of these videos and came with just 40k budget and she was eating only once to curtail her budget. I could help her book tickets and with some local currency. What you are doing is really appreciable but as now you are giving information on a public platform where people follow you , please be specific or at least give certain informations with margins so that the people who are excited to travel like you do not make such mistakes. Rest I really like your videos and my best wishes are with you always.

Hi Amit, if your daughter is less than 12 years, RT PcR report will be required.
No on-arrival PCR test for Not-vaccinated children up to 12 years and they will be allowed to travel with their parents and no quarantine is required. I am confirming this information referring to several trusted websites. Still for safety you can call the airlines and confirm the same. Hope you have a good trip🌻

Thanks for sharing such a great information, May I know how is the transportation status from moving one place to another. Travel time shows like 4hr and 6 hr somewhere , so 2 days in Ellna and other place like you mention , include this travel time or just exploration?

I mentioned min number of days required to explore the place.
For example, day 5 we left from nuwara eliya early morning and we reached by 1 pm, explored the major points of the day and another day left for yala national park. so if you had one more you can completely see all the areas in Ella

All tourist places are totally opened.. no any barriers...... and from march 01 st 2022 ..Government announces if any foreign tourist fully vaccinated from their origin .. they do not need to do PCR test in Colombo Airport... welcome my Paradise.....!!

When I was searching the site I found there an option of "group apply" but I don't know whether the group apply is for a family or for a group of tourists where the tour is arranged by a Travel Agent for a group of tourists.
