They really exaggerated how dumb Asta is, he can be like that at times but he doesnt always solve problems by "hitting them really hard".
This battle was very clear on who was gonna win if you knew about both shows. In ep 1, Asta was already swole as shit and could put holes in concrete walls while Deku couldnt even talk back to Bakugo.
If you ever decide to watch My Hero My Hero Academia. If you think Vegeta was arrogant/ prideful wait until you see Katsuki Bakugou
Bakugo is a discount rate Vegata a typical angry/cool rival with no substance. There is more to Vegeta than yelling angrily.

@@xrayraider6731 the problem is that 99% of the reaction channels that i see, simply watch but they dont try to undertand the lore, black clover is a long anime and theres things that are foreshadow like 80 to 100 episodes earlier, i like the channel kyuujin reacts bcs the 2 girls are one of the few that pay atention and discuss, but they are not the type who criticize bcs of the hype that other shows gets. This guys here are more casual reactors soo im happy with this alreadly. 👍
@@joaocarlosii2188problem with Kyuujin is that they are not consistent with their uploads on YT or Patreon. I like their reactions too, but irritating with their lack of consistency.

Even though Asta won, the Death Battle crew weren't even hiding the fact that they thought Deku was a better character.
DB was so skeevy for that.
Which he's not though.
Honestly, if they had just waited - Deku could have matched and surpassed Asta in speed. But Asta's Planetary scaling really gave him the definitive edge in this fight.

This battle actually hurts me as a fan of Black Clover. Asta isn’t represented correctly, neither is Black Clover itself really. I highly recommend the series if you want to watch it, but they literally spoiled one of the final twists of the anime, so…
They wouldn't know what the final plot twist was of the Black Clover anime so I think they're fine

@@anathem9982 nothing not even the use of those powers is unique or original, danger sense is literally the spidey sense and is used the exact same way along with those tendrils being exactly like webbing too. Deku himself is nothing but a user of inherited powers that are not his own and they never will be.

Both fighters were nerfed but asta was more nerfed by comparison.
As someone familiar with both characters, Asta literally blitzes and stomps the entire MHA verse. This is one of the most one sided anime matchups.
Since you guys love RWBY, You guys should react to Blake vs Mikasa.
This video is kinda weird since they LOWBALLED Asta SO F%*@ING HARD, just to make it seems fair for Deku to have a chance WHICH PISSED ME OFF. Because I personally think Deku SHOULD have won the fight since there are reasonably scaling that would put Deku & The MHA Verse to Planetary Level of Power and Having Asta & Black Clover into Universal Level is REALLY weird at least to me. Star Level Asta is believable enough not Universal.
I just think Deku is faster, more versatile, and have way more options of attacks that would give Deku the win. And I think it people would be Alright if DEATH BATTLE just Highball Deku instead of lowballing Asta.
Also during the time, the episode was in the making. BC Fan was OVERHYPEING a little TOO much for Asta. And It's really sad how TOXIC Anime Fans can be. I believe DEATH BATTLE should have waited for My Hero Academia & Black Clover to finally finish their stories before doing Deku VS Asta.
Since NOW Deku & Asta have gotten WAY MORE STRONGER & FASTER, & I disagree with Asta winning and believe Deku should have won.
@@coolrod15thecoolest241. I don't believe the toxicity was during the making of the episode. How is saying facts toxic? The only people mad about the preshow hype were MHA fans who believed that Deku would win.
2. Asta would still win in their current manga forms.
3. The toxicity was AFTER the DB was aired, and for good reason. Not only did DB portray Asta in a negative light, it wasn't even accurate to his character. DB-only fans got mad because BC fans got mad at DB for Asta's portrayal and had so many excuses lined up and called the BC fans toxic. The problem here is that the DB fans thought or gaslit ppl into thinking that BC fans were mad because Asta didn't finish Deku right away, when that wasn't the case at all.

People were "toxic" bc db didn't portray asta right. He would never go into a battle saying "i have to hit him really hard" and say that deku gives luck a run for his money when luck speed blitzes him.

The crazy part about these 2 is that I absolutely vibe with them. Especially considering how I’ve got Deku’s analytical brain and Asta’s short stature (*except I’m 5’2”, between him and Wolverine and roughly the same as Frieza and Kid Buu*), occasional loudness, and “just literally hit the problem, really hard” attitude.
The music for this death battle was really I'm amazed u didn't comment about it.

Between My Hero Academia and Black Clover, I would have to choose Black Clover as my favorite shonen anime.
My Hero is one of those must watch shows. It has great characters, great storytelling, and character designs. It’s one of the best modern anime for sure and it definitely seem like something you two would enjoy a lot

Based off of what they’ve both shown at their peaks, with Deku with all of the OFA quirks and Asta in full devil union, Deku gets fodderized.
They still showed Asta winning but made it seem as if it were even remotely close when that just isn’t the case.
Deku is barely relativistic (aka not as fast as light but faster than sound)
Meanwhile Asta is MASSIVELY faster than light, so speed wise it’s not even close.
As far as AP goes, Asta can casually make massive long range slashes which could easily split a mountain, while Deku’s power doesn’t even reach that height.
In a realistic showing Asta would’ve been so fast Deku could basically be frozen in place even at top speed, so much stronger that Deku would get obliterated, and so tough Deku’s attacks would barely even tickle Asta let alone make him bleed.
Good fight with a great cameo.

It's an incredible opening. Seasons 1-3 are some of my favorite bits of anime ever, and the later seasons are a bit more hit or miss, but are still really good.
This was a good reaction and next do either Todiroki vs Zuko or Yang vs Tifa.
I have an idea for how you might be able to make things a bit more interesting with your betting that might prevent ties like this. Instead of both of you writing down your bets then explaining your reasoning, whoever is winning should make their bet first and explain their reasoning first, giving the person who's behind a potential advantage by giving them the benefit of an added perspective when betting, as well as knowing how much of a risk they can take when making their bet.

Please watch broku video debunking this death battle, they got wrong both series. And asta is not a dumb brut character, he is just a uneducated person, but he is very smart (deku needed 2~3 seasons to learn that he can kick, when asta figures out techiniques by himself in the spot)
Not to disagree with your other points, but Deku was chained by the fact that he wanted to be like All Might so much which can explain why he didn't kick before.

This was a great DB... Love both Deku and Asta, and the music in this was incredible. And please check out both series, My Hero Academia and Black Clover. They're both really good anime
For your guy's voting issue I would suggest talking about which fighter you're picking, out loud, and then only writing down the bet amount
I would say they fumbled the ball on this one. While Asta win this obviously it is a lot closer but its not close at all in other regard.
First speed. Asta is faster but Deku is not that slow.
Shigaraki isn't the first person in MHA to dodge lasers. Mina Ashido is. That paired with plenty of characters like No quirk All Might and Base Deku dodging lasers after they have been fired shows that ftl is the lower end of MHA. (Aoyama's lasers have been called light more times than nay other laser feat in any other anime)
So Deku is closer to speed and Gearshift allows him not only speed himself up but also make others slower. So Deku is the faster one here.
But the strength difference is wayy to big. Deku would scale multiple times over to his island feat. But it doesn't even matter because Asta cut a Asteroid that was going to destroy the Clover Kingdom and cut the sky in half separating clouds all over Japan.
This might change if Deku does something big in the finale chapter but then Asta can do that too.

Also Deku is faster because while Asta has higher top speed, Deku can get to his Top speed in 0 seconds as he doesn't have interia
Asta starts out really annoying, but Black Clover genuinely becomes very good a little ways into it. It's one of the better modern shounen IMO.

You should check out Shazam Vs Captain Marvel. There's a lot of interesting story about Shazam. Plus Thor Vs Vegeta is a crazy fight.
Not so fun fact: The creators later stated that Deku's eyes turning white at 18:25 was actually him dying from overexerting himself. So he was already dead by the time Asta finished him off.
I will say, I feel like this death battle was not generous enough with the abilities and speed Deku had, but even with that issue, Asta still for-sure wins.

Asta "swords" are nothing like historical greatswords,you did not use them to bash your opponent,at a weight of around 6lb with most of the weight being more towards the guard it's not good at bashing the way Asta does with his "swords",knights & other fighters used a mace specifically because that was a tool good at bashing,which if swords were good at bashing the mace wouldn't have been made in the first place.

Well, if you want to stop picking the same person from ruing the game, an idea would be to make the bet more like a poker bet. So the person leading puts down a minimum Blind bet, we'll say 10 for this example. Both players are to make wagers as though the blind bet is not a factor, and it will go on top of the bet.
I don't know if it's the best system, but it could stop stalemates at least.

That line about Asta's swords being blunted clubs and how that's "not entirely inconsistent with real life
great-swords" is utter tripe. The idea that historical European swords, great or otherwise, were heavy blunt clubs is one of many misconceptions spread by historians in the past that the HEMA community is still railing against.
Not a slight against DB though, they're just parroting the nonsense spouted by people who are supposed to know better.
Actual Great-swords also weren't all that heavy by the way, with most only clocking in at 3-3.5 kgs.

This is one of the Death Battles that I do believe was not done that great. Both characters had far better matchups, they kind of did Asta’s character dirty, and the ending was just weirdly paced and seemed totally out of character and needlessly brutal.

My Hero Academia is ton of fun and has really good characters, also strong female lead characters who are not stupid and they have earned their strength.

Well fa Jin takes time that he doesn't have in battle like these and the gear shift chapter was just out at the time so we didn't know what it can actually do

Actually deku has more quirks than one for all and black whip. He has danger sense (a toned down spider sense), gear shift to increase speed, float (the actual ability to float in air), smokescreen, Fa Jin (strength enhancement through martial arts), and one unknown quirk that we don’t exactly know what it does from the third incarnation of one for all. Deku would win if given time and every quirk awakens.
But he literally used smokescreen and danger sense and float (even though it isn't really that useful to 100% deku )in the fight and what do you think that floating building attack was?

Same. Oddly enough, a critic for a comic book news site called Black Clover "The worst fantasy manga ever written".
Probably one of the worst battles in modern DB imo. I could take the gross misunderstanding of Asta’s powers but his characterization was butchered in every way. I would’ve preferred them to completely take out the stupid yo-yo scene to give him the correct characterization.

....i really, really, really don't like deku. and not because of the whole he's a crybaby thing or whatever people were pushing at the beging.
deku is a highly dangerous and irresponsible person, who constantly puts the lifes and safety of those he claims he seeks to protect at risk, simply because he's more concerned with indulging his own urges than to do what's right. deku is the type who simply can't help but to jump into action when he thinks someone is in danger, even if all his involvement does is make the situation worse and more dangerous for those already in danger. he has again and again underminded and endangered the efforts of those around him, simply because he utterly lacks any form of selfcontrolled and "i can't just stand by and do nothing".
of course no one ever sees it that way, both in and out of universe, because he's the protagonist of the story and thus everything just conviniently works out in his favour in the end, but i shudder to imagine the damage his repeated and unwavering selfishness would have wrought in a world that wasn't controlled by plot convinience.

I still call BS, I am more of a fan of Black Clover but Deku should have won. Deku has battle strategy, and he has understood and learned how quirks worked and found ways around this. All Asta does is make predictions by reading signs and Swings his swords. Deku should have won.

Death Battle tried to make them close in strength where that is not the case. Asta FAR outscales anyone in the MHA verse and its not close, they decided to ignore the feats he had in the Land of the Rising Sun arc. No amount of abilities or brains Deku has stops Asta from easily blitzing him and 1 shotting him in base cause thats what should have happened.
