12:30 I can personally attest that this is indeed a Bug/feature of the Gameboy game. Whenever i played this game on the GBA my strategy has always been to use Vanessa to fight off the spider and get chip exp and eventually the kill against the spider. Every time the Girl keeps crying about the spider and I just figured that after the spider appears the girl was coded to keep crying until the mission ended or she died
I love old hacks. They give a sense of "what happens if I do this?" that you don't get from modern hacks or official games Well, official games that Kaga didn't make.
This is amazing. I have to give it up to Encryption for building this thing with Nightmare, as well as everybody else who put together hacks back in those days. And by the same token, props to the teams that built Nightmare and FEBuilder to make this stuff possible at all. Regardless of the final product, these are folks that put in the work, which is a worth a hell of a lot more than chucking rocks from the comment section. In a way, I feel like this is also a nice slice of what software development looks like: cobbling together things with whatever tools you have on hand, devs obviously performing *near zero* testing of whether their changes function (much less accomplish the intended goal), and nothing ever getting taken down (from Serenes in this case) after it's been posted, because who's even responsible for taking care of that portion of the site anyway, assuming anyone even remembers that it exists. Amazing.
Its truly mind boggling just how many fantastic resources are available for free for rom hacking. Genuinely one of the most selfless communities I've ever come across.
Honestly this is a very endearing hack, reminds me of an unbalanced mess of an abandoned fe7 hack i made a while back. Maybe i should finish that, it was kinda funny
@@JasonGodwin69 Eh, it's more a thing where... I get it, it's annoying to see the enemies using something you can't, I just feel that people who wish you could use poison weapons would never actually use poison weapons if they were available. Like, oh boy, I can use this weapon barely stronger than an iron weapon and way less accurate, but if it hits, it will deal an average of ten extra damage, over the course of five rounds! Man, so worth it.
If you want another one back from those days try Attack of the Morphs. It’s an FE7 rom hack that actually got pretty far in terms of using tools of the time. Weird buffs included. I don’t remember it getting as crazy as the Myrrh/Draco zombie like this hack.
This hack reminds me of my one preset settings for Yune runs, where you set the growths to randomize between 40-100, but give enemies flat growth buffs to compensate for the insane units you'll likely end up with eventually. I had a very funny run of Sacred Stones where even though I had units who nearly had capped stats, all the bosses had capped stats which made the strategy to kill each boss a more fun. If I remember correctly the first instance I saw capped def in that run was against the boss on Natasha and Joshua's join map. That was definitely a doozy to deal with.
I love hacks like this. I used FE Builder and made one for my own use where I super buffed my characters and played around with color palettes just for fun, it was great. It's fun seeing the creator's personality and favs by who gets the extra love
as someone with a fascination for being able to use restricted content, like unused items or enemy-only equipment, i feel my soul resonating with this hack creator. they give you EVERYTHING you can't get normally, from poison weapons to event items to playable demon king. at least, almost everything, it seems like the only thing they left out was playable monster classes/usable monster weapons. i feel like that's a missed opportunity, though understandable since that's probably hard to work into the game reasonably. though they clearly didn't care much about being reasonable, considering the massive stat inflation, and myrrh... i shouldn't try to think about it i really love the way the one-off NPC only classes were handled, queen, pontifex, and even soldier being ultra powerful. i mean this in the best way possible, it feels like such a childish vision of getting to use things you normally aren't able to. it's like old rumors of legendary pokemon being in the grass outside pallet town's fences, there's such a sense of wonder to it.
What I find amazing is that there have been balance patches for this, like, this feels so much like a first draft that was never playtested but at the same time there are multiple versions??? I can't imagine what it must be like trying to beat this blind if you don't like franz and don't think about training him lol
Yeah vanilla soldier exp gain is kinda nuts, prolly even crazier with fe8 earlygame exp. I remember having to change it in Doubled or Nothing because simon would just hit like level 12 by chapter 6 with basically no effort
Oh, also! The reason why Binks has +7 con is pretty simple. Warrior’s Con cap is 25. That “+7” is actually a -3 (the game just doesnt normally have the graphics to display negative bonuses like that.)
I tried making a hack of sacred stones once. I wanted to rebalance some stuff (make my favorite characters busted), do some story rewrites, and make the twins goth. Sadly, changing the their pallets was WAY harder than customizing every other units pallet so I gave up lol
Definitely a wild ride lol, those draco zombies were... a unique choice If your ever looking for a more balanced but still challenging hack, you should give The Morrow's Golden Country a try (aka TMGC, aka Two Milkmen go Comedy (???)). Its an impressively polished and balanced experience, with a huge amount of welcome QoL changes and some very fun new mechanics. I don't think it reaches this level of difficulty (tho to be fair I haven't played on hard), but it's apparently a solid challenge. Also if anyone knows the origin of either of it's titles, please enlighten me
Two Milkmen Go Comedy is a line from Virtue's Last Reward. It's a graffti the characters find early on, left by the mastermind of the death game they're in. (It's an anagram for "Welcome to my kingdom")
The Con changes makes you think that the persona that made the romhack knew what Con is or dosnt knew sht what Con is cause the changes just dosnt make sense, but this hack dosnt make sense so what i guess lol
Zonta just turned into a fe6 boss
chapter 8x flashbacks...
Henning possessed him to show Zonta what a REAAAAAAL Hero can do
He was Gel's master
When the blade is binding

The software development summation hit me too close to home 😂. Love its accuracy
11:07
Close enough, welcome back Henning!💕💕💕
30:06 the way myrrh slides in to be danced is just so good
Snake pit S-Tier is my favorite power scale.
Franz ended up being *Fixed Broken*
Yes, he was fixed as broken
"This is Zonta. Can you tell what has been changed?"
Something about that segment had SummoningSalt energy lol, Idk how to explain it. I cackled.
The Demon King being a playable class got such a hard laugh out of me. What a thing of beauty
Honestly this is a very endearing hack, reminds me of an unbalanced mess of an abandoned fe7 hack i made a while back. Maybe i should finish that, it was kinda funny
My read on the poison weapon thing is that there's a certain sector of people who really dislike it whenever a weapon is enemy-exclusive.
Do they are have the stupid?

I wasn't sure until I saw Sector, then I was sold
14:09 No problem, will keep being siwwy~
God, am getting flashbacks as I watch this, I like half remember and very much half don’t lol~

i appreciate the positive attitude man. i love finding stuff like this. odd but so playable lol
Okay can I just say calling Brunya/syrene groenya (for the unaware groen is green in dutch) was really funny
This was awesome. I’m over all of these polished and well balanced reskins, give me more of this.
34:51
69 str draco zombies?!
Nice!
Great video! Love the editing
That's my stream editor, saving the day with these edits! WOOOOOOOOOOO GO PLASMASTER!

so draco zombies in this hack are even stronger than freaking demon king, alright.
I do really love ALL Mekkah videos!!!! ❤

34:33 Now imagine trying to fight that on floor 10 but with higher stats (x10).
12:21 this transition is sick as fuck what the hell?
27:18 \*Broken Fixed\*
Average Fire Emblem experience
Merry Christmas 😂
Holy shit... I tuned in for a bit for chapter 6 but otherwise had no idea how wack this romhack was. Gave me a hell of a laugh before Christmas 😂
What I find amazing is that there have been balance patches for this, like, this feels so much like a first draft that was never playtested but at the same time there are multiple versions???
I can't imagine what it must be like trying to beat this blind if you don't like franz and don't think about training him lol
is this our christmas gift?
So, what i learned from this video is: There should be an Encryption 20 Franz only run.

18:52 you did what and then what-Ed on him???
Your honour, it was for the experience -
This was a hilarious watch, so much so that I totally missed the Kirby's Dream Land 2 track that apparently played ;o;
This is the Fire Emblem Ball Z to end all Fire Emblem Ball Zs
I tried making a hack of sacred stones once. I wanted to rebalance some stuff (make my favorite characters busted), do some story rewrites, and make the twins goth. Sadly, changing the their pallets was WAY harder than customizing every other units pallet so I gave up lol
It really is amazing just how far the rom hacking community has come
Bruh now I miss these messy old hacks
mekkah need more subsss
36:34 which romhack is this?
Cerulean crescent. Mekkah's been livestreaming it.

Yay for holiday video!
*tips Thanos knife on finger*
Perfectly balanced as all things should be.
broken fixed
I remember messing around in nightmare. I think you needed another program to insert portraits. I probably still have it on my pc lol
If yer playing old romhacks, I loved love to see you play FE The Will of Good and Evil
Someone should update this hack to 2024 rom hack standards.
Man I thought this was gonna be some technical RNG fix or something. That would have been lame this is better
Have you played sacred stones reforged yet?
Truly one of the rom hacks of all time.
The Con changes makes you think that the persona that made the romhack knew what Con is or dosnt knew sht what Con is cause the changes just dosnt make sense, but this hack dosnt make sense so what i guess lol
is that dultimat3 i hear in the background
yeah he's based
Enlighten me:
Why we change portraits?
Lol this video was so much fun
