l would like to point out something in match 3 against mono-red. Some red decks are running Battle mouse and/or Godrick, so l believe it would be better to proliferate the Kumano to deny them a "Celebration" trigger
Good interaction to point out!
Elden Ring reference?
@@Moop321no, it’s a Cinderella reference

Same…
That Tamiyo/Mouse deck is so much fun. Worth every wildcard.
Always has been...
Why can't I put a love instead of a like lol
Lmfao! Same bro. Same!
Have to say goodbye to my dog Diesel today, he truly is a Superfriend. Thanks for the video LVD, this helps a lot. Almost forgot, Diesel and his sister Pebbles love to sit and listen to LVD's videos. I think his steady voice calmed them. They've been fans for several years now!
In memory of Diesel 🥲
Gonna go give my little guy an extra treat now... RIP Diesel, the true Superfriend of @endoroboto2225
Diesel is a form of gas for a car here in Sweden, way to expensive. Hope he was a good superfriend though.😇
Its a form of gas in America (and presumably other places) as well.
Too bad Mordenkainen isnt still in standard. His ability to make doggos would be a perfect addition for a superfriend deck of this type.
39:10 fleshgorger ward synergizing with Ashiok was great
I definitely noticed that 😅
Im always impressed by this man somehow knowing at least 4 spells in the opponents deck after they play one land
Your videos are the best part of my day
Nice! Staff of Compleation synergizes so well with Ashiok that it feels like they were made for each other.
The cruel irony of LVD getting countered by a crab 🦀
Staff of Compleation is a mono red players favorite card
I am really enjoying this deck, a superfriends deck just seems to be very anti-meta right and thats what I like to play. I did however tweek it a little to my liking/play style. Made a couple cuts and added a little more removal and Graveyard tresspassers to help with exiling my own graveyard to boost Ashiok and gain a little life if needed. I seem to get more "mill" wins than i expected bc most people have no idea as to what im doing until its too late.
I had given up on making Urza Assembles the Titans work after trying many times, but as always you create a beautiful and competitive deck with it with many of my favorite cards to boot. Can't wait to try this! Thank you again!
This is the deck that got me into mythic for the season!! What a deck tech legend
This deck is so much fun, love to play it. The selection of cards is really top notch and the synergias awesome. Grindy matchups are so cool, so many wincon. Thank you LVD, you trully are a legend😉
Sweet deck. Once I get my hands on a few more copies of Ashiok I'm playing her with the defilers from DMU
Oh, how sweet these turns are, when you have multiple planeswalkers out, including a Vraska and get that Titans third chapter.
The smile I get when your notification pops up man is huge. This deck is so damn cool! And I HATE superfriends decks in EDH lmfao xD
This video gives a good opportunity to check out the new(?) animations for losing to mill and losing to poison
I really love superfriends decks and hope some more fun planeswalkers are printed to allow it to still exist in Standard in the next few sets.
With Virtue of Persistence, Breach the Multiverse, Cruelty of Gix and Etali in standard the Staff of Compleation first ability may actually find some use, as it lets you destroy a permanent you OWN, not control, so you can kill creatures that your opponent steals from your graveyard or library
27:58 Could've paid the phyrexian mana for a few more cards in exile, Granted it might've been a little excessive. 😅
Your comment about Mirrex is so true. I don't even like it or Mishra's Foundry in mono-red. I've had colorless lands turn what would have been a win with a mountain into a loss far more often than I've crossed the finish line because I had a creature land. They simply aren't worth including most of the time.
It really depends on the curve of the deck and the mana requirements.
Creature lands are powerful tools, but they need to be used responsibly.
@@LegenVD maybe the issue I was running into is that the kinds of decks creature lands are best against just aren’t that prevalent in best of 1, so I was encountering the downside more often than the upside.
I did not realize you still posted I have missed so much..!
19:42 There was a reason to proliferate - Godric and his Celebration mechanic.
Indeed!
Cool deck
I love Super Friends!
10/10 thumbnail
Damn... against the mono red... that was brutal.
In match 3 you should proliferate on kumanu just to deny celebration on the opponents turn. It would not have mattered but I think it's a neat trick to pull of once in a while.
Indeed, a few people mentioned it 😅
I know this is a random question but why do you roll with the light lion picture? Seeing it always makes me giggle
Also love the videos, you’re a skilled player for sure
What's not to like!
Speaking of this, does anyone know for sure if LegenVD likes Ajani? I would assume so, but idk.
Interesting Ashiok Ultimate effect
Demonic Bargain is the card that makes Ashiok go full brrrr
Superfriends are my favourite deck types 😂
The thought that in the future superfriends decks will probably be near-extinct is concerning.
Very cool deck!
Just to point out, at 15:47 the Wanderer doesn't actually die if they kill the token becuase they can't attack it with 2 creatures so Mishra Foundry was not a factor there
Good point!
Just thought of a reason to proliferate the Kumano at 20:00. If they have Goddric, playing him and having Kumano ETB means 2 permanents entered on that turn. Proliferating would just make it enter 1 turn earlier. Not a huge deal but noteworthy for sure.
Indeed, a few people mentioned it 😅
Incredibly niche use case here, but you could have proliferated the opponent's Kumano saga so that when it flips on their turn, they don't get celebration for free if their 3 drop was Goddric! 😄
That wasn't the case in that match, but it's fun to think about! Gotta try and imagine all the lines, thats something I've definitely picked up from watching you play, Luca!
Edit: I just saw the pinned comment lmfao nevermind xD
That thumbnail though 😂
@LegenVD be honest, how many games did you need to assemble all three win conditions?😁
Hmmm 🤔... does anyone have an idea for a similar replacement for staff of compleation which isn't mythic? Most of the other stuff I got...
28:00 funky missed lethal: Use 3 staffs to proliferate each time, give your opponent 9 poison counters, then use drowin in ichor to proliferate for the win! (Not that it matters much, you still won during their draw step.)
I do run Mirrex in most of my Brawl decks. In constructed it depends, but yeah, I would never run it in a 5 color pile.
In game 4, you mention why not to play Mirrex in the domain deck, but what is the benefit of using it?
the downside seems so high, not sure why people would include it
That single Mirrex is good against draw/go control, but yeah, when you need all 5 colors on turn 5 for Alara, it's not great.
The first Invasion of Alara list that became popular included one and most people just copy pasted it without questioning its inclusion.
I believe that in match 1 proliferating the Urza assembles the titans wouldn’t do anything as the saga has read ahead and 2 abilities can’t trigger on the turn one of those enter despite it being a later chapter.
We did in one of the later games.
Oh, that's my bad. I think the interaction I was thinking about was proliferating while some sort of counter doubler was active which would skip some chapters.
Hey Legend, what would you take out in order to add 4 copies of revelry?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@LegenVD Got it 😅

Ashiok's static ability is truly awesome. Would love to see an HB deck for them.
My other favorite mtg content creator, Amy the Amazonian made an excellent Ashiok deck for historic brawl. Highly recommend!!
Would be curious to see all the life loss synergy for him for sure.
19:37 Drown In Ichor probably wants to proliferate on the Saga to nerf Goddric (having the Saga etb turn before).
Edit: nvm, it has been pointed out.
So many rare and mythics 😅
19:40 Actually there's one reason to proliferate on kumano here: to prevent turn 3 Goddric to proc his celebration. It would save you 1 life
Indeed, a few people mentioned it 😅
Proliferate makes it very hard for aggro decks to kill planeswalkers on curve lol
You are such a great deck builder. But I am so SICK of Magic right now, build a deck to win against mono red mono white and cannot reach Diamond as I keep hitting black and blue decks!?!?!?! Seriously so frustrating!
With that many tokens I am heartbroken about Kaya, Geist Hunter not having a slot here
Definitely considered it, but would need more early creatures to make use of the +1.
43:38 I dont understand how you couldnt activate ashiok before leyline triggers.
Activating a Planeswalker is not an instant speed ability.
@@LegenVD hm, but can you active planeswalker before lets say shock? Cause I used to do it lots of times.
@@water6162No. You can activate after playing it before they have a window to cast the shock, but only if you don't give them something to respond to first. LVD activated Vraska first.
@@irreleverent I see. 3 years in the Arena, still not always understand prioritizing things.
Genuine question.
Why is he Platin when he his so good? Am i missing something?
I prefer building new decks as opposed to grinding the ladder.
Getting to Mythic is more about putting in the time as opposed to a measure of skill.
After doing it many times it's not much of an achievement anymore.

Hello
You know standard is bad when you can predict every other card from opponent because 99% of them are playing the same 3-4 net-decks.
Your videos are really nice to watch, comprehensively explained deckbuilding and decision making, really appreciate that. The only thing that makes me often bounce after 2-3 games is how often you show games where opponents get mana screwed, play really bad or barely cast spells at all. These auto-win matches do show off your deck nicely, but are a) not very interesting to watch and b) create an unrealistic expectation towards how well your decks work irl if I choose to invest my wild cards for them.
You’d be surprised at how many matches get cut from the video because of that! I’m still a mere human with limited time on this earth, so not every game is going to be a nail-biter. I try my best to include games that showcase the strengths and weaknesses of any given strategy.
@@LegenVD and that's very much appreciated, really.
😊
Planeswalkers were a design mistake...
In last time you don't add the type of video. Like "standard", ranked, historic etc. Why did you deviate from your common way? I personally let me guide by this to know what to expect (before i. Click the vid).
I would appreciate it in the titel or at least in the thumbnail 🙏
I understand change can be annoying, but there are still plenty of ways to see which format it is.
- It's written in the video description
- I mention it within 10 seconds of the video starting
- On my channel page every format has a separate playlist
The upside is that this will encourage more people to check out videos on formats they would not usually play.
@LegenVD yeah, I see your point as a content author completely. I assume it generates a hundreds (or thousands?) additional views - even if they just click the video to read the description or listen the first 10 secs, to know what it is about.
For me as a consumer on the other hand it is less comfortable as I usually only click vids that I know I'm interested in (would not watch Alcemy a second e.g.). A better "User Experience" would be if it does not add additional effort for the recipients
@LegenVD I perceived you as a creator that has highest standards of your own videos. It is astonishing what you do and how you all the time improve the quality! But this time I think it is a step away from the best way. Just my humble opinion, that maybe people might agree with
@@oliverwetter9186 Have definitely heard a few complaints. I also preferred the previous titles for clarity fwiw, but have noticed an uptick in every metric after switching.
@@LegenVDHonestly I don’t like it as much as an older viewer but if it means you get more traction on your videos that is completely understandable.
