@@cavestoryfan10 there is only one answer to this: because Italy doesn't care of Eurovision, Italy cares only of Sanremo, and I sadly can say this because I'm Italian. Here in Italy, winning Sanremo for a Singer is like winning everything: it's the most important national song contest; maybe Eurovision can be good for young singers, but Sanremo here is more important, because old people watch Sanremo and old people don't like young singers and new music. And we don't have big coreographies and scenographies because we are very simple on the stage, the singer is more important than the rest, so you can focus on the music and minimalism, most of the time is more effective than the most exagerated performance; this is not correlated to Sanremo but it's Italian style. That's because we choose our songs through Sanremo, which is mainly a national competition and then the way to choose our esc competitor. So obviously all our entries are in Italian😊
@@sims3lover12 That's because (probably) your competition is aimed only at electing an esc participant, thus all songs are written as possible esc participants/winners (and having them in English means a wider audience can enjoy them, rising your chances of victory. It's not a case that you have the most esc won out of them all (fact not checked)). Festival Of Sanremo was born before the esc (in fact, the esc took inspiration from Sanremo when it was born). Sanremo's contestants aim to win for the Italian audience, not the European one, so they sing in Italian. It is mostly a coincidence that Sanremo's winner also goes to the esc, in fact they are not even forced to and can refuse (as in 2016 i think, when Stadio won Sanremo but Francesca Michelin went to the esc)
@@DarkCarraVEVO oh ok I get that. Yeah, I think Sweden really likes to win esc lol, music is one of the things that we take a lot of pride in. Interesting to know how it works in Italy though. Also, I loved this song - it should have won!

It's just a mechanism of defense, all that seriousness... actually if you pay attention to his body language, is possible to notice that he's kind of shy and sensitive.

Idk. I like and dislike it at the same time. It has some really good parts and he's definitely a good singer, but it's so monotonous and emotionless. It also has this "cool" vibe that you also have in hip hop, which is something I really really dislike.
Several good hooks in there, you can't quite tell where the chorus starts or if there even is one. That's a good thing. My surprise favorite this year.
The fact that he was only 27 points away from winning is what has been killing me since last night 😭😭 But i feel better now cause i saw his story on IG and he's happy, so am i 😍😍😍
Yeah I was crushed when they announced the Netherlands as winners...I thought this was OUR year. Many people are happy for Mahmood's second place because they were fans of Ultimo and are comparing Arcade to I tuoi particolari, saying that if Ultimo had represented Italy we would have probably won...but they are two different songs altogether!

"Roi" was one of my favourites this year and, to be honest, I listen more to it than to "Soldi" simply because "Roi" is more uplifting. For me "Soldi" is more impactful, since it addresses the root of all problems - bad parenting. A good parent will teach their children to love and accept other people as well as themselves.
i lived in italy for 6 months in 2019 and this song was a BANGER that summer, brings back so many memories, will love it forever!🇱🇻

I absolutely adore that Italy is consequent with using their language in ESC. And I love this song.
That's because we choose our songs through Sanremo, which is mainly a national competition and then the way to choose our esc competitor. So obviously all our entries are in Italian😊
Viva l'italiano , agree!!
@@DarkCarraVEVO We have the same concept in Sweden, with a national competition to choose our esc entry. Most songs are still in English though..
"Sooldi, sooldi... (clap, clap)..." So catchy!

He's pretty intimidating at first but damn when he smiles... my heart just explode.
It's just a mechanism of defense, all that seriousness... actually if you pay attention to his body language, is possible to notice that he's kind of shy and sensitive.
he is just acting on stage :-) and in reality not shy at all
He was nervous, but yes, Mahmood looks serious on stage but is such a sweetheart off stage haha... 💞
Grazie io sono dell'Italia/Thanks I'm from Italy/Italia

if you speak italian, the whole force of the meaning of the words, the personal nature of the story, the anger with which he sings the words, and the fact it's a banger combine amazingly. Didn't need to win, would be a multinational hit anyway!

Yeah I was crushed when they announced the Netherlands as winners...I thought this was OUR year.
