I'm just loving it, past being a railway prodigy! Smile. This is soo golden, unique and can't be beat! I'm very intrigued of how these, great men as bonifide Amtrak train engineers, consistently make it possible for all, Amtrak passengers to travel the rails. It's so exciting to view everything, in action. What progress of accomplishment seeing all of, the Amtrak "Get Fresh Crew" expertly doing what they do best! Smile. As a 74 yr old woman, from the early 50's growing up, in NY then and now, has been a mainstay! Smile. Marveling over NY/Central, and NY/New Haven Railroad. Sensational as a little girl at 5 yrs old, throughout to see these diesel trains on the move! Full throttle ahead, along with the Trolleybuses. In Washington DC where I was born, the trolleycars were also a mainstay then! Very intriguing. I loved hearing the clanging of, the railroad signal and the flashing lights. Soo amazing, quaintness of living through that time frame of nostalgia! The diesel engineers sounds was appealing, to hear them revved up like an Indy 500! Loved the most, was seeing the train coming into the station. Of course, leaving out too! Back in the 50's my cousin received an electric train set. My spirit was so happy, knowing that I could enjoy that moment. Trains were the move then.
The AUTO TRAIN itself is fascinating. To be able to travel completely relaxed to Florida is worth every penny. We've done it several times, the Crew really takes excellent care of you.
i like that train...i watch it on a webcam passing through Ashland station (virginia) around 11 pm (french hour)...it'a an amazing train !!! thanks for sharing and greets from France !!!!

I loved Amtrak trains 😀!
AmTrak crews remind me of the KCS crews I work around XD always happy to do horn shows and wave for railfanners.
This was a great video!!
Brutal, Thanks
Where's that train comeing from i no it's going to Florida but where does it start
Nice video.
The one thing wrong with the auto train trip is that it does not last long enough.
I agree!
HEY!,WISH I COULD TAKE A VACATION LIKE WHAT THEY HAVE BEEN BRAGGING ABOUT ON PHILLY'S #1 HIT MUSIC STATION Q102.
That is the point!!! SKIP I-95!
Seriously, I love trains. Want a longer ride? Take a different train. Southwest Chief. Empire Builder.
Looks like Lorton VA
John Mazzei Yes
Very nice! I loved it
How many cars was that? I counted 15 Superliners and almost as many Autotrain cars?! Wow, he almost needed a third P42!
those are Amtrak p40s
OK. How many cars?
when I was on the auto train leaving Sanford on July 16th there was roughly about 35 cars
Typically 40 cars in the consist for trains 52 and 53.
Was that the conductor that waved to you?
looking forward to the trip in January, 2017
Rita Archard, how was your January 2017 trip on AMTRAK?🌝
Was that young guy that got in the Locomotive the Engineer? I'm interested in becoming an Engineer for Amtrak.
he might be in training
Gotta start from a lower position first, then promote up. Could of easily been the engineer, you only need half year training once you get promoted.
AMTRAK has 2 men in the cab? Is that just on the AutoTrain or on all of their trains?
A train crew does typically have an engineer and a conductor, as I understand. 😉
@@eclair9 Passenger train conductors ride with the passengers, they don't ride up in the locomotive like they do on a freight train.
@@sadams12345678 Amtrak has 2 crew in the cab at all times, typically an Engineer and Conductor, as Amtrak employs numerous conductors per train.
Depends on the length of run, & other factors whether two are in the cab or not, this was told to me from an Amtrak hogger.
great video ... subbed your channel.
They need 3 dining cars, but no lounges, kinda strange...
Dining Cars with a window on the lower level have been converted into lounges for Auto Train usage.
Those engineers and conductors sure don't dress up like they used to. Look like bums and not a good representation for Amtrack!
Lol, some of us you couldn't tell the difference. Now we gotta wear monkey suits.
