Constitutional monarchies are somewhat immune to Communism, as the king already has to provide freedom and self-rule to his people, therefore diminishing their will to overthrow him in a revolution. In absolute monarchies, however, the king can be as bad as he wants to be, and in democratic republics there is nobody to be overthrown, so Communism can easily convince the population in these two systems.
