@@wwiituberestoration1011 And what did you take to neutralize the acid? PS: It would be very cool if you would answer me because I am restoring an m40 helmet actually
@@MK-ll1gt Oxalic acid is great stuff for removing rust, stains, and the black stains on old military stocks. Can be bought on Ebay in a powder form. Just remove with water and maybe some soap. Use it outside and wear rubber gloves just to be safe. Same stuff used in fence cleaner. Made from rubarb plants.
+WWII Tube Restoration great video..... Can you please give us a LIST OF TOOLS AND SUBTANCES USED DURING THE RESTORATION PROCESS ??... Thanks in Advance...
Love your work preserving some myself but I let them soak in white vinegar for a week does the same job. But it does take longer da just wondering what's in the the toilet cleaner bottle?
question, will the toilet cleaner make the metal thinner, and decrease the quantity of metal? and for how much time does it have to stay on the helmet? 9:32
Why not? Restoration is the act of restoring someone or something to a satisfactory state. There are many types of restoration that are divided by different characteristics. In all types, the main goal of restoration is to restore the loss of the object (defects resulting from operation - chips, blows, faults and much more) and improve its appearance, as well as preserve the object.
Davide Tonello just buy a m40-m55 finish helmet it was made from German stamps and a lot was made during the continuation war and a lot just cost 60 dollars at Amazon
I'm so happy. I've finally found a channel dedicated to preservation and restoration of military memorabilia. Thank you for saving history.
Brilliant you never over restored it and it still has the history and the markings of what that helmet stands for
I've purchased a comparable M35 shell and I can't wait to clean it
Oh good Lord. I put mine in my sandblast cabinet on 25psi and was done with it it 15 min.
Does that remove any remnants of original paint too?
@@finnmanproductions9240 it does
the sound is off when you're scrubbing it and its messing with me
This is impressive. Great job. I might try it with my m40..
Andrew Gibbons be careful
Very nice restoration what was the mixture used at 7:10 and how long did you keep it in there for?
C2H2O4 "Oxalic acid". Two times for 12 hours
@@wwiituberestoration1011 How much oxalic acid did you take for one liter of water?
@@MK-ll1gt I add about 100 grams of oxalic acid per 10 litres of water

It's just that it's toilet cleaner. It eats and removes rust like nobody's business.
Would CLR do a better job?

Twice for 12 hours.
WWII Tube Restoration alright cool! Thanks! Love your content keep it up :)
Really nice!
Does the candle wax leave any residue when it dries?
No, but wax layer should be minimal
Добрый вечер, а если когда кислотили пожелтела что можно сделать?
Try a toilet cleaner. Better to avoid yellowing. You kept the thing in oxalic acid for a long time
Ты есть в ау?
Вк
а чем вы натираете после всего и для чего нужен фен?
Натирает воском. Для этого и фен нужен.
60€ -> 250€
Great job next time i suggest to take out the helmet liner first to get in behind it
Hi bro 👋👋👋very good restoration German helmet 👍👍👍
So this was preservation and not a restoration?
Is it normal water ?
Kept waiting for a restoration, but all I got was a cleaned helmet covered in wax.
If he sanded it and repainted it he would have removed the history
@@griffinw8768 it’s the fact that is says restoration in the title but what we really got was preservation

Зачем на русском писать если ты американец?
This just pains me to watch.
why
if it had been left the way it was it would surely have rusted away
Deathwhistle idk why I said that 🤔
Can you give me a helmet?
Davide Tonello just buy a m40-m55 finish helmet it was made from German stamps and a lot was made during the continuation war and a lot just cost 60 dollars at Amazon
Many offers on the original German helmets on the eBay.
Why do you break the liner 🤦🏻♂️😡
And the chinstrap rest
Because he 's rotten. The remains of the liner prevented me from making a qualitative restoration.
Looks like crap. Do a better job next time.
