Stan wrote this song for the movie Origin which he said changed his life. It took 3 weeks for him to write, record and film this. The places he visits in the clip are the lands of his and his wife's iwi (tribe). If you can watch Origin it changed my life too. Love from Aotearoa New Zealand ❤❤❤❤
Stan Walker is an Australian birthed Maori, who is one of the winners of Australian Idol, he now resides in New Zealand, also known as Aotearoa (The Land Of The Long White Cloud), where he is on his journey to reawaken himself as a Maori man, he is a humble person who has recently fought through a rare stomach cancer that has taken some of his family members, he is a humble man on an ethnic and spiritual discovery, and I am sure you will be amazed by this man's talent as not only a singer but also an actor and a public figure, here's a link to a Kanye West song he had covered "Ultralight Beam" ruclips.net/video/6VtklPHboTg/видео.htmlsi=l28GZejEiMlS0cs5, love your reaction and hope you will continue to walk the life of Stan. Thank you.
He toi ora ahau nou - I am your vitality Te toi no Kurawaka - The source from Kurawaka ( the waters where life began ) Taku rongomaiwhiti e - My unique sacredness Takiri ko te haeata - The dawn breaks Anga atu ki te Ra - Face the light of the new day Whiti whiti ki te ora e - Shine, cross over to life Hou mai ra - Resounding To rongo e - Are your deeds Tau mai ra - Received To karere - Is your message Mau tonu e - It remains Tuturu whakamaua kia tina - Bind together, fix and affirm Haumi e - It is affirmed Hui e - Bound together Taiki e - In unity
Loved your reaction❤, yes very mind blowing, wait until you hear all his other songs, just as mind blowing as this. Welcome to the stan walker rabbit hole 😂
Thanks for your reaction. Would recommend reacting to Stan's cover (with The Levites) of the Kanye West song "Ultralight Beam". It's that performance that prompted the writer/director of the movie Origins (Ava DuVernay) to ask Stan to write this song for her movie after she saw/heard it. She reached out to contacts via social media to track Stan down and this is the result, with no changes even requested from Ava.........she loved this how it is.
Lovely reaction e hoa (friend). Enjoy the Stan journey ahead! If you loved this song you may enjoy 'Maori ki te Ao' too, along with 'Ki Taku Awa' (or the English version 'Back to the River'), which are part of the same body of work as 'I Am'. ❤❤❤
I enjoyed your reaction 😄 cant wait to see other Stan Walker reactions. My favourites are "Amazing Grace & The cover of Kanye Wests, Ultra light beam." Enjoy ❤
Stan is the man! He was singing the chorus in Maori - the language of the native people of New Zealand. Please react to Stan's version of 'Amazing Grace' and his cover of 'Don't dream its over' ❤
Where not natives where the indigenous people of New Zealand. Native means all thoses born in New Zealand my bro.just like the aboriginals of Australia there the first their.
Just did a quick google of the meaning of native and found this as one of the meanings..."things that are native are indigenous" so my stoner brain was kind of on the right track 😂
Stan Walker is awesome and one of the best. Would be awesome if you can please react to Australian legend John Farnham singing a Beatles classic “help” live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra
Kia ora from a Maori New Zealander and if you loved this then you sould listen to some of our Kapa haka performances and other NZ musicians as we have lots of amazing singers and dancers too
To understand the meaning of the song you can't keep stopping it to talk, keep your comments til the end. Its self indulgent to break up an artists piece of work so you can talk. I have stopped watching at 1 minute 40 because you interupted the song 😖
