I stumbled upon your video for no apparent reason I don’t need to do bushing work but you made this entertaining Man! especially the “let’s Torque this too….a lot” 😂😂😂😂 Thanks 👍🏽
I can't tell you how helpful this was. I've been restoring my 68 galaxie for a handful of years, but haven't touched the suspension. At first I was just going to do the upper control arm bushings, but I'm thinking i'll need to go through the whole thing like you did.. Thank you so much!
Have you done anything with your front brakes? I can't find rotors for the life of me.
I have a 65 Galaxie 500 LTD. It had a frame off rotisserie restoration 20 years ago. Rust free and accident free. Going to do the same thing upper and lower control arm bushing. This helped me alot. Thanks

This video helped me out a ton. Doing this on an LTD and it's exactly the same. My ball joint rivets were a real PITA, but eventually got it all done. Thank you for posting this.
I was gonna say, I'm dailying a 78 LTD in the non-salty months and it doesn't look like Ford changed anything. I guess if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
I really appreciated this video. I have a 58 Ford Fairlane that needs the upper control arm bushings and I have been trying to decide if a 74-year old man needs to tackle that
So glad you made this video and included all the steps and tools needed to complete the job. After looking for a video that covers this exact control arm, this appears to be the only one. Very much appreciated.
Thanks to this video, you helped me do the ball joints on my son's 1972 LTD.
Excellent video, very thorough. Itz a big help. I'm sure no-one has ever told u this but you are a character !! Ha!
Thanks for the content. I just rescued a old 72 LTD convertible and I have no idea how to renew those old Fords I’m keeping this for reference!
Man, this was a great video! Thanks for putting this together!
gotta love fomoco's thriftiness! looks to be the same for my '67 galaxie, save for the spindles which i'm swapping for a set off a '70 continental.
Great, following this for my '69 Mark III. Almost perfect except balls joints on Mark are riveted and need to be drilled out.
This video will help me on my upper and lower control arms on my Lincoln Mark V
This is a great video and it's the same as my 1966 LTD 4 door hard top with front drum brakes.
You gave some great tips. I'm going to save your video for when I do the front end of my '65 Ford Galaxie. I just got done with a complete rebuild of all four brakes and master cylinder and I'm tired. But I did hear a "click" in the front end when I turn the steering wheel from side to side so something needs replacing. I'm too tired now for a major job right away but I think I'll put in the Petronix electronic ignition and coil tomorrow.
What a great video! I have a 68 Thunderbird.
Looks like this will work with my '72 Mark IV, too. Thanks a lot!
I am so glad I found your video because I’ve been wanting a car that is similar to my 65 Mercury Park Ave. convertible and that tool you used bravo I loved your video
Hey there!! Thank you so much for the video.
Would you mind going more into detail as of what you did at 26:44? I can’t seem to understand how you determined the proper height and the procedure you followed to make it right :) Many thanks!
Did I load the suspension, before I tightened the bolt? Mimic loaded suspension, as if it were on the ground, or as close as you can get.

Hi! Great video. I am trying to replace my front lower ball joints on my 69 Galaxie XL. Just having a tough time removing the ball joint from the control arm. Wondering if you could help me out...
Great video! Just subscribed. Funny stuff
Hey Rusty buddy, great video, definitely some useful pointers. I'm working on a 68 Galaxie 500 right now doing the same thing and then some. I have a question on the front brakes on this car and hope you have done them and have some info. The 68 front hub/rotor was a one year deal then Ford changed some things and I can't find any replacement for the life of me. Do you know of any cross over parts or maybe even getting different spindles I don't know what I just need something that works. Thanks Rusty, keep on wrenching.
I do not. I would guess that the bearing numbers, and rotor diameter might be useful. Good luck.
I have a 68 Camaro. If I just want to replace the lower control arm bushing do I still need to remove the sway bar support and shock absorber? Thanks.
Shock, sway bar link, and spring needs to come out on that I do believe.
Where could I get extra square bolts from? Any for sale?
@@LoyaltyNC I don't know.
Where are you located??? I have actually the same car here in model and I want to do the same thing??
My favorite answer. Outer space.
Interesting problem.
"I'm not going to disconnect the battery cause it's not a hot wire" *sparks ensue"*
OoPs....
It does not look like this thing spent a lot of time in the rust belt.
There is mud in the rear quarters, and holes in the floor. The frame has been welded. Like most people, it looks good on the outside.
You could of cleaned out the bushing holes on the control arm,,,there full of rust...
I could have done a lot of things.
There was no 429 offered. It was a 390 or a 428
@@Braveheartman123 69?
@@RustBeltAuto maybe ‘69, but not ‘68.
