Too bad John K was a bit of a diva. I feel we have been robbed of some great cartoons. His knowledge and talent when it comes to cartoons is intricate and amazing. Everytime I read his blog I learn something. Ren and Stimpy is my all time favorite cartoon ever. It was really the next evolution of the great Warner Brother shorts that no one has really tapped since.
That's a very entitled attitude you have if you feel you have been "robbed" of cartoons. John K's cartoons are HIS, and he shared them with us. His ideas, his blood, sweat and tears.
dear John k, Thank you for creating the greatest cartoon ever! Ren and Stimpy helped me battle depression. I could have lost my life two years ago but I didn't thanks to you and that's why I like you more and more everyday. I appreciate everything you do John, I wish you were the voice of Ren for all five seasons but things didn't work out that way. Ren was your creation NOT Billy's look what I mean to say is it was you're voice that made the character. Thanks for all you do John yours truly, Sarah Peterson (Aka your biggest fan)
@@mforrest9737 No, I'm more so shocked seeing this person liking everything John.K works on along with thinking Ren is John's character not Billy West when that doesn't really make sense as Viacom does so...
@@mrskinszszsSorry, for the late response as I was busy. Anyway, John K. created Ren Hoek but he sold his cartoon to the Nickelodeon executives for it to be fully greenlit which is how it works in show business. Johnny boy is so stupidly ignorant on the reason why he was kicked off his cartoon then claims that Nickelodeon "took" his creations away when it was NEVER John's in the first place.
I love John's work... 💕 I especially love this spot in particular being he's won the Tex Avery award in which he SO deserves!!! Oh, and uhm... Hubba hubba to the big guy here. 😘 Oh, and a huge shout out to Beanie and Cecil which I was obsessed with as a young sprite!! I drew them obsessively and I ended up making my own comic strips for a few years as a teenager using people I knew and friends to make my own characters. I always thought I would end up doing something in the field but alas it was not to be.
I heard Natialie Portman once said in an interview that she disliked the word "genius" because it's so overused. I agree. This guy is one though. Not a SINGLE FRAME of Ren and Stimpy has been unfunny. A single line can make all the difference. He never fails. At least not with the frames that we are allowed to see.
+BAppleJuice, I'm pretty sure John K. accepted $130k+ from fans through kickstarter, passing the goal by $20k. Where has he been? Where's his product? He has had time to do work for Miley Cyrus, would would be a paid gig. He stays off radar, except his poorly kept blog, which is seldom ever commented on anymore. He shows up at dork conventions and does doodles for cash. It's like watching Wrestlemania III, having Hulk Hogan be a hero in your eyes, and when you finally meet him at a high school gymnasium where he's signing autographs. John K. Is brilliant, he was just born too early or too late. Regardless, he is a perfectionist, as much as he is sporadic, and is a consistent ball dropper who can't meet deadlines. Yes....we have been robbed....not once, but twice. Once by Nick, and even more so by John. UFC plugs with Mike Judge? Didn't that company just sell for 4.4 billion? I'm sure those checks cleared too.
ive always thought danny antouncci would get this reward cause his work is heavily inspired by tex avery and john k is a big bob clampett fanboy and seem to use more of his techinques then avery still really cool
ren and stimpy is what inspired me to be a cartoonist...I remember the first day it aired on nickelodeon

Such a shame he's a diva and a creep. He's genuinely entertaining and his works are amazing.
@@theredpanda00 Only (the original) Ren and Stimpy was amazing.
Agree to disagree, but at least it seems fair.
Great interview. Love the part about no one being into original ideas, just spin off's. However it's the original ideas that become legendary.
Don't you think allot of people are making more spin off's now adays... Of coarse then theres been floods of originals equally.
John Kricfalusi thank you for Ren and Stimpy, there should have been more than 10 John K directed series of it, a work of genius.
