What's nifty about throwing you money out of the window? Regen is money back in the bank, literary, coz every time you brake you put power back in the battery... But by all means, if you want to burn your money turn the regen off... I have an BMW fulle charged 94amp i3 and can't turn off regen at all, but I would not do it either, not here in norway where it is so much to earn by regen instead of breaking the car with breaks in hilly roads. Sometimes, in steep hills, I regen as much as 6 to 10% back to the battery, without using my break pads at all, pure money in the bank. I have driven my 17' i3 for 185000 kilometers and the car is stock, as I bought it in 2017, except new winter and summer tires.. Have had no issues with it what so ever, not even a little blue screen. So think hard and long before you turn of regen... Coz it is just like burning your money in heat....
