Love the new introduction lines fellas. The banter is brilliant. Akin to the original top gear folk having a good laugh while also being informative. ❤
I think it's really only the Atto3 and Kona EV that's the direct competition for the ZS EV in terms of pricing for electric SUV. The MG4 is amazing, but for the older crowd, or even people with children the ability to easily get in and out of an SUV can be the deciding factor.
We've got both - an MG4 extended and a new ZS EV Trophy Connect. Third ZS overall, first was petrol, second was first gen electric and now trophy connect. Both cars are great. Love 240bhp in the 4, but equally like the comfort of the ZS. 155bhp still pretty decent off the line
Yeah we test drove the MG Zs EV & the BYD Atto 3 on the same day and man, the difference was shocking. It was like night and day. We were lead to believe online before we test drove that they were pretty similar 😅 After driving the Atto 3, for the MG we didn't even make it past 15 mins of test driving it, we'd seen enough and went right back to the dealership lol. at least it made the decision on which car to get an easy one!
They need to update the ZS now, the design it's been 2 years already, we need a new model with longer range and even faster charge speed. A heat pump would be great, maybe 2024?
Can't say for this face-lift version but the older model drives like an opel omega (holden commodore for you) with 200000 km It's cushy and comfortable because they did nothing to the suspension and added 400 kg of weight. I had on one occasion spun the tail on a sharp turn because the regenerative brakes are on the front and I only used them to brake.
WLTP isn’t the most accurate prediction when it comes to range (car driving in economy mode In completely ideal conditions) Utilising AC, cruse control, the driving conditions, the type of driving you’re doing (ie stop start city driving vs long highway driving) and even the ambient temperature outside impact range as well. WLTP is an optimistic ballpark of what to expect regarding range. In my experience (owning the standard range ZS EV) my car is rated for 320kms of range in winter it drops to about 260 (not even including using the heater) and in spring and early summer the rated range jumps back to being close to 300kms. General rule to follow is to assume the real world driving of your car is 5-10% less than the stated WLTP range. I hope this helps!
Please, please do not waste your money on an MG ev. Yes on the surface they are ‘good value’ but the reality in my experience unfortunately is that they are very poorly made, lose a fortune in value even in the first year and the garages that service them are basic and un professional. If you absolutely must buy one don’t buy it new at the very least. I’ve just sold mine in the uk, during my year of ownership I had two steering racks replaced (which was a nightmare because even the garage had to beg to mg to do it the second time) , the doors wouldn’t unlock in the rear, the rear seats when you folded them detached and I would say at least every 03rd time it would not turn on without turning it on an off. I would add something positive though , it was quite nice to drive and also I often got more range out of it in the summer than quoted. I brought it one year ago for £35,500 ( they are now selling them new for £26k believe) and have just sold it for the best offer i could for £19k. I’ve owned lots of cars, they all lose money but nothing like this and I’m not rich so couldn’t afford to keep making this mistake and don’t want anyone else to.
@@theairstig9164 yeah it’s a prime example of if it’s not broken don’t fix it. Still the most popular selling small SUV because everyday people just want affordable, reliable vehicles with a proven track record. Not just greenwashing and shiny trinkets
Zs EV. Where do I begin... The drivers seat started to crack after little over a year old. All the rear lights have been swapped now. Folding mirrors stop working. Something in the front suspension has to be swapped now and is ofc. Not part of the warranty. Infotinment screen has stopped working. If you stop by the road with the indivator on and open the door the indicator shuts off, making it dangerous if you have to stop somewhere. Whiny noise from the gearbox. Flimsy suspenison making the car unstable especially in high speed. Charging port indicator light does not work anymore. Refuses to charge at certain charging stations. No charging progress indication anywhere when charging. Slow charging speed. Backup camera is mounted almost underneath the car in the back making it constantly dirty except on sunny clear days. Thats feom the top of my head and the list goes on
@@jyztrik that’s horrible. i bought the exact same car some weeks ago. at the moment everything is working perfectly , let’s hope we don’t share the same luck
That’s really bad luck. I’ve had some horrible cars over the years but this mg has been brilliant. One major problem which the garage fixed under warranty but I’m very happy with them.
crappy car with a crappy battery. 320km on paper (in my country at least, 51KW). my goodness. i cant imagine what kind of milleage will i get as the battery ages
ICE cars are just soooooo bad. I'm so f***n sick of them. Constant services, so many different parts of the engine to go wrong, fuel is so expensive, always losing my keys (a me problem), such cluttered interiors with buttons eveeywhere, noisy engines, exhaust fumes, the list goes on. I admit I've only 18 and have only been driving for 2 years but I'm already so sick of them. I can't wait till I get my Tesla Model 3 in 2 months and say goodbye to ICE cars forever. Especially the Fu**n Holdens I'll leave behind at the traffic lights.

yes, next gen ZS EV comes out 2024 fall
Other then ir being a EV..Does it drive better than the ZST ? Is the handling improved at all? Steering the same?

12:39 really 400km? Look at the screen at 5:59 100% 337km calling bs mate.
Range varies based on the Driving Mode selected. Sports mode gives the least range and Eco mode gives max range.

You do realise an ASX GS is half the price?
The 4B11 engine in the 2023 ASX was first produced in 2007. Its half the price of a 72KwH battery on wheels for a reason

Is the steering wheel still not placed directly in front of the driver? Irritating.
Unfortunately I bough an MG. Never regretted anything so much as that purchase. It is horrible in every single way except the price
Which model did you get? Why are you so upset?
