A couple easy pastas are spaghetti with butter, asparagus, and Parmesan, or pasta with raw halved grape tomatoes, fresh basil, and fresh onion, butter, and Parm in the summer, very fresh and easy. If you have leftover spaghetti sauce but not enough to go around, throw it in with cooked macaroni and some cheese.
Lots of great ideas, Sarah! All of my children are young adults who still live at home, but are at work at lunchtime. So, my husband and I have started making a soup on Monday that we eat for lunches during the week. I’ll need different ideas when the weather warms - thanks, as always, for the inspiration! ❤ xo
For Sunday lunch, you could try putting meat & potatoes & veggies in the slow cooker on sat. Put into fridge until sun morning then turn slow cooker on. By the time you get home from church, lunch is ready. My mom did it & I’ve done it many times. So handy
This is great!! I always thought the Crock-Pot would be nice, but it wouldn't be ready for lunch. Never once did it cross my mind to cook it Saturday and just warm it up Sunday! 😳
I live in Poland. We don’t do lunches in Europe mostly. we have dinner at lunch time. 😊 generally we eat it at 2 pm till 5 pm. And at the end of day we have supper. And these recipes are good for that!! So thank you.
Thank you for sharing. Great ideas yummy lunches. What I do is once a week for breakfast I make a bunch of burritos freeze them a bunch of breakfast sandwiches and freeze them and when I need something quick, I don’t have to be preparing just what I have already in the freezer and they’re ready to be put in the microwave Sarah you’re the best thank you. Love you and your family. God bless and always enjoy watching your videos.❤
These videos are so balanced when it comes to being healthy yet still practical. Love these ideas. I have a 4, 2 and 1 year old and lunch is definitely the hardest meal. 😊
I'd love to see your current breakfasts! One lunch my kids like is potato bar, which looks a lot like your rice bowls I put some potatoes in the instant pot and have them ready for lunch with butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon bits, broccoli.
One of my favorite go to lunches is whatever bread option we might have available.....pitas, naan, bagels, French bread, etc and whatever bbq or other sauce, meat and cheese we happen to have. I layer it and bake it for a hot melt. Yum!
I love your plan. Lots of good choices. Spinach in your teeth is a healthy sign. I feel like your kids are more involved with you in the new house, spacious kitchen.
I used to do the snacky trays with all the things and that brought back a good memory. it was very popular and nothing wrong with it at all. Got some refreshing ideas here. Always love a reminder. hugs
An easy lunch for my family a bowl mixed with Steamed white rice, salmon, green onions, mixed with a sauce of mayo Sriracha, and soy sauce We crushed seaweed into it and eat it in a bowl or you could make balls out of the mixture and then roll it in the seaweed. It makes salmon rice balls. Not big family portion, but for my family of five Cook 1 cup white rice 2 4oz salmons with salt pepper or smoked salmon Green onions the amount of your preference 6 tablespoons mayo 3tbsp soy sauce 1 1/2 tablespoon Sriracha Your seaweed of choice We use plain or the chili lime, flavored snack seaweed 😅
One of my favorite Sunday meals for my large family was turkey! I'd put about a 12 or 15 pounder in the oven before we left for church and it was ready by the time we got home, prepped a couple sides/salad, and there was just enough for us and whoever came home with us or showed up. I did the same with a 7 or 8 pound trimmed brisket, but cooked it low and slow overnight.
I am all about quick and easy. Just last night, both of my girls came home after work and school, really hungry. I took out some turkey kielbasa, bell peppers, pasta , tomato paste , heavy cream and Cajun seasoning and made Cajun pasta in less than 30 mins. Usually I make it with chicken but when in a pinch, turkey kielbasa works great. Thanks for sharing your quick lunches, Sarah. Blessings, Sabrina
I used to do snack pllates with my children. I made a great chicken noodle soup for lunch recently. They loved it. Grilled cheese is also a hit. Open faced grilled cheese with bacon and tomatoes is wonderful in the colder monthes.
Thank you for the inspiration, Sarah! I also plan lunches ahead (with a bit of wiggle room for unexpected changes), and we also do a smaller lunch with a big dinner (as that is the one meal we eat as a family- in the morning my husband leaves early, and he’s gone during lunch). God bless you!
I started making bread around 5 months ago. I live alone so I give it away. I just enjoy making it. I finally have got a great sourdough starter and make some good bread with it. Trust me it took time and I have thrown away some stinkers
Hi Sarah, I love that snack lunch platter. My sort of lunch. Buddha/Burrito/Poke bowls are also quick easy lunches and great for using up leftovers. If you chop up the ingredients in advance and store them in the fridge it’s so easy. In this cold weather (England), I also love good old-fashioned thick veggie soup, full of lentils, beans and I add dumplings also. My children still love it and make it themselves for their own families. ❤
We keep out a George Foreman grill all the time for fast easy meals.. instant assorted grill cheese sandwiches, toss on a piece or 2 or 4 of chicken thighs or breast or burgers or pork chop etc.. with various seasoning ready in like 5 minutes. Beautiful grill marks. A few microwave veg bags and some instant mashed potatoes or minute rice etc.. I survived off the George Foreman in high school 😂😂
Funny, I was just looking on RUclips this weeks for family lunch ideas! We love to do sheet pan baked potatoes where the potatoes are cut up first then baked until fork tender. Top with cheese and bake until melted and then add whatever topping s you like. We do something similare with nachos, if we have left over chili or taco meat or even just beans. Chips, cheese and protein on a sheet pan in the oven until melted then add favorite toppings. Since three of my older kids (9 total) go to school and the rest of us homeschool and have co-op once a week ,I like to make a number of sandwiches in advance ,and have them in a container in the fridge (almost always mustard, turkey and cheese). I just discovered sheet pan quesadillas which saves a lot of time, chicken salad and egg salad made in a big batch on Sunday and then use it throughout the week. A friend once made a batch of wraps for my family when I was going through medical issues and my kids love them ( shredded chicken, shredded cheese, lettuce, ranch dressing, burritos wrap then wrapped in plastic wrap) They keep well for days as well. Homemade Hamburger helper is another favorite.
I kept thinking soup!!! Make an enormous pot of soup and can it! Then it’s on the shelf when you want it! I live on soup lunches🤭 Meatballs in the air fryer are quick too! Right over the rice ( maybe too messy?)
It's just my daughter and I and she can definitely make her own lunch. Tonight, I made homemade beef barley soup. Tomorrow I'm making a ham, potato and broccoli cheesy casserole. Thursday is homemade French onion soup. (I'll freeze any leftovers). Friday is leftover day (I plan it that way, lol.)
I used to use leftovers for lunches or when I cooked dinner I cooked another meal for nextdays lunch. l8ke say your making speggitti n meatloaf for next days lunch ? or vice versa but sammies always hood . or I'd make big batch of egg or chicken salad n have sammies ect
Oh I started making buns for sandwiches too. I don’t know why they feel easier, but it’s working for us. I resisted buying lunchmeat for a long time, but I caved for ease. And you know what, we love a really good sandwich with all the fixin’s
We must have been reading the same blogs or something 🤣 I love those divided trays during the summer. One for fruit and one for veggies. It’s so easy to feed kids in the summer/fall when produce is plentiful. My teen boys always wanted a hot meal but my girls are snackier so the divided trays with a meat, cheese, veggie, fruit is a hit
Looks like you have a plan its working , your kids eat good better than most kids my mom just gave me peanut butter and jelly .😮 Those lunches would be dinners for me !😊
Have you thought if getting a ruce cooker. Keep it on the kitchen counter. Also hot potato white or sweet potato bar. I love your cooking videos. How about brunch.or breakfast bar, taco bar, salad bar! 😊😊
Variety of breakfast meals, if you have a bowl recipe, using seaweed and canned salmon would love that too. I'm trying to eat more canned salmon, tuna, etc.
I love making pizza with tortillas. I don't like the taste of tomato paste but I will use tomato sauce with spices or pizza sauce then add all my ingredients😋😋
Great video, great lunch ideas! As a homeschooling mom of nine, I appreciate the inspo 😋 What’s your instant pot rice recipe?? Where did you find the organic saltines?? Azure?
Do you have an industrial size mixer? We're a family of 6 and I love to double and triple recipes but my mixer can't handle triple usually.. just curious. We also do sourdough rolls instead because my kids wouldn't eat the crust and I hate waste!
I call ours protein bowls I do lettuce onions meat of choice beans ( norm my canned blk beans) chs sour cream cheese salsa hot sauce n all kinds if veggies aswell so yummy. sometimes my 32 yrs old will say mom I'm coming over can we make bowlss . ?? n I say yes do u want to make some to take for lunches n she'll say YES PLEASE. lol she'll bring the containers n well meal.prep for her lol
Favorite easy lunch sandwich is Canned chicken mixed with ranch dressing on a bun, tortilla or homemade bread - quick and easy and SOOOO yummy!

@ I don’t cook it on sat. Just prepare it so I can turn it on on sun. If I turn it on high around 7-8am, it’s done by 12-12:30

@okmyre - this seems like a very healthy practice - lighter meals during the evening hours!
Thank you for sharing. Great ideas yummy lunches. Yeah!!! Love to see you today!!
Our go to lunch during the winter was soup. It would simmer all morning. We usually had bread and butter to go with it. Buns are great for sandwiches.
Great lunch ideas thanks for sharing.
Sarah, I would love to see a how-to homemade recipes video on your condiments, spices, etc. I love that you save money and eat healthier 😊
Coming.
Me too!! I need the ranch, mayo and Taco,, hint hint ;)

Is it weird that we're enjoying the new house and how it's making life easier?!😊 Continued blessings!
Have you considered starting a small herb garden for the summer? You could put a plant tower on your deck for easy access.
I have....maybe some day.
Your cooking videos are some of my favorites. Thanks for sharing.
Great video

I like rice for breakfast with butter, cinnamon/sugar and milk.
Your lunches are so tasty and fun !! Your homemade buns look so good !! 😀😀
I love bowl eating. Get to use up leftovers. It’s just me, so this is a good/quick way to eat.🎉
You can also make rice in the oven
Yay!! Love these❤❤❤
I do baked potato with toppings. Microwave the potatoes. Easy and cheap
Love that idea!
Sarah, My mom went home to be with Jesus today. She was in the hospice part of the Jupiter Medical Center.
❤
So sorry for you loss. Praying for comfort for you and your family!
Thank you for this video. I’ve been needing some simple inspo for lunches!

Can't imagine go out to eat with your family😊

Meatballs are a great idea!

Great video. Nice easy healthy lunches. 👌
Beans or black eyed peas are good with rice and spices. Adding sausage is good too.
Great food prep Sarah, love the ideas. Hard to get my hubby to eat pasta, will eat rice. Bless him. 😊😊😊
Hi Our Tribe of Many!
I used to use leftovers for lunches or when I cooked dinner I cooked another meal for nextdays lunch. l8ke say your making speggitti n meatloaf for next days lunch ? or vice versa but sammies always hood . or I'd make big batch of egg or chicken salad n have sammies ect
All great ideas!

Hi Sarah 👋🏻
I've been doing Annies mac and cheese with tuna and peas. Really good, my husband even eats it.
My husband and I like this too. It was a growing-up meal.
Great ideas!
We must have been reading the same blogs or something 🤣

My instant pot works great for my rice cooker.
Hi Sarah. Gosh you’re a busy lady. Don’t know how you do it. I had 3 kids. That was a lot. You are like a well oiled machine.
Love all your videos but have especially enjoyed the return of your food videos ❤
Instant pot macaroni and cheese is a favorite (I use bone broth for the liquid). With chicken sausage and veggies.
Sunday would be a perfect day for crockpot
Hi Sarah and Family., thanks for sharing 1-22-2025❤
Variety of breakfast meals, if you have a bowl recipe, using seaweed and canned salmon would love that too. I'm trying to eat more canned salmon, tuna, etc.

Your hair is soooo pretty wavy ❤
I love making pizza with tortillas. I don't like the taste of tomato paste but I will use tomato sauce with spices or pizza sauce then add all my ingredients😋😋
Where can I get that vegetable platter with the lid and is it dishwasher safe?
The one I have is out of stock but here is one that looks similar. amzn.to/4htOFnb
Could I have a link to your snack tray with a lid?
Thank you.I have a 7 month old,11 head old and 9 year old.Lunches have neen way too many chicken nuggets lately.
Where I live we call buns, batches
Do you use a binder? I use water from boiling potatoes in my bread recipe. Also, unflavored gelatin powder, corn starch or xanthan gum works too.
No.... just water.
Great video, great lunch ideas! As a homeschooling mom of nine, I appreciate the inspo 😋 What’s your instant pot rice recipe??
Where did you find the organic saltines?? Azure?
Yes for the saltines and instant pot has a rice button and I use equal parts rice and water.
Do you have an industrial size mixer? We're a family of 6 and I love to double and triple recipes but my mixer can't handle triple usually.. just curious. We also do sourdough rolls instead because my kids wouldn't eat the crust and I hate waste!
amzn.to/40oeMF3 I use this one. It holds 16 cups. I love it!
Good eating
I ❤ the idea of having a set group of meals you can make easily, clean up easily, and keep ingredients on hand.
❤ from Iowa
Where did you get the tray with the lid? Looks great.
